Chapter 78

It has been a week since I left with my shame and ruined dignity as I fled for Alex’s house. The week had easily been the most tiresome one; the project was still running, and every day after work, I took a drive there to see how far it was coming along.

I mean, I shouldn't be doing this; I have a project manager and other people in charge, but it was my work. I wanted to make sure everything went well without a hitch.

And maybe to pass the time, these days have been seeming too boring for me, and I needed something to divert my attention to.

Some days, I meet Jeremy there doing the same thing I came to do, and we exchange pleasantries. Although I am not sure I could call it that, it was anything but pleasant.

I would tell him hello, and he would just nod at me. Geez! That was so infuriating. What happened to talking? I am not an agama lizard; you feel the need to nod in response to each greeting.
