Chapter 82

We rode in different cars to their mansion only because we would be going home after that, and I didn’t want to be too much of a disturbance to him. Jeremy rode in his Hyundai, and I rode in my Cadillac.

Jeremy arrived before me only because I was a law-abiding citizen and would never go past the speed limit. He, on the other hand, was a beast on the highway.

It was a miracle that I was still alive all through the time he had been driving me around. Jeremy had a thing for fast cars and was secretly enrolled in an underground car racing game.

I would never understand what is wrong with men and their obsession with fast cars. But I could ponder about that later. We arrived at the mansion almost at the same time, and we came out of our vehicle and met at the entrance.

Jeremy opened the door, letting me go through first, and I entered inside. With him, I was always sure that chivalry was not dead.

The mansion was, like always, cold and a little too posh to be a family house. It looked like
