42. Clarissa

Jalen and I kept running until we got to the Lycan pack. We ran past old and abandoned streets, my footsteps and heartbeats the only sounds that trashed in my ear.

"We're almost there," Jalen held me as we ran towards an old building with white peeling paint. I was exhausted and my legs felt like jelly.

"Where's this place?" I panted and Jalen banged on the door, the sound echoing through the deserted streets.

"This is Cade's house; my accomplice who abducted you," he said and kept looking back to be sure that no one was following us.

The door opened and Cade, Jalen's friend with spiky hair and a tattoo on his neck, welcomed us with a warm smile behind him was an older man whose face was lined with wrinkles and his hair, grey.

"Come in, come in," Cade said, gesturing for us to enter. "You made it."
