Avery’s POV

The case was adjourned for two weeks and finally, the witnesses came to court, but the funny thing was Lisa bailed on us last minute. It was quite obvious Liam got to her before we could, I could not believe it earlier when she stood in the witness box and attested to the fact that I was delusional.

Tears threatened to flow from my eyes, but then I fought the tears back while sitting silently in the back seat.

It all felt surreal when Liam gained another upper hand at the court today, Liam locked Maria up in the house and asked his bodyguards to prevent her from coming out.

Despite everything I tried I could do little, Liam kept making it look like I was truly insane. Right now, I don’t even know whom to trust anymore or what to say. My mind felt numb as Emma kept stealing glances at me while Jamal stopped the car at the company.
