63: Guilt & Shame

Liam’s POV

Avery glowed differently since she returned from her trip, she was no longer afraid of me nor was she scared to talk back at me. Did I make a mistake in approving her trip with Emma? It was only done for my selfish interest, but then it turned out to work for Avery’s good.

Sighing I tossed around on my bed, I tried to sleep, but then I could not. I had a terrible nightmare again about Avery’s mom. Since that day I went to the hospital and found her room empty, I've continually experienced this horrible nightmare.

Wiping off the beads of sweat that formed on my forehead I reached for my phone, scrolling through the phone I searched for a private detective's number. I sent a message requesting a detailed explanation of his findings in the last month.

Since no one knew about it and Avery had been obeying my every command I decided to keep the secret of her mom’s disappearance, but then my grandmother just had to mention it in the presence of my grandfather.
