9: A Turning Point

Avery’s POV

The next morning I woke up feeling exhausted from crying so much and staying up late trying to think of the possible outcome of my choice. Just a few days ago, I woke up purposeful, but there was this feeling of uncertainty lurking around me again.

There was this shadow of gloominess that was present in my room as I found it difficult to stand up from my bed, the only thing I felt like doing was laying on the bed all day doing nothing. Liam was the last person I wanted to see, but at the same time, I was eager to know what happened to his grandfather if they approved of me being his wife.

Sighing, I scuffed my hair, All I wanted was a better life for my mom. I just wanted to be happy again, Is this too much to ask God!! This was the first time in years I called that name again, but it tasted bland on my lips after mentioning it.

“No one is coming to save or help you Avery, you have been holding up on your own.” I said in a bid to cheer myself up.
