79: A Bond Forged

Author’s POV

Jamal’s car drove into the hospital parking lot and luckily Dr. Leonard already had an emergency team waiting outside at the entrance, Immediately Jamal came down quickly he carried Avery who was already losing consciousness on the stretcher that was provided.

The nurses and health assistants wheeled her into the hospital with Jamal following closely by her side, his heartbeat increased when she was taken into the emergency ward and the nurses told him to wait outside. Letting go of Avery’s hands instantly, he felt like his heart shattered into tiny pieces.

Dr. Leonard walked briskly past him and said, “She would be fine, just stay out here and wait for her.” Jamal looked up and saw him smiling at him before walking into the ward.

Typically, Dr. Leonard’s words were supposed to encourage him, but then he found himself getting so angry at himself for not reaching out to her sooner.
