42: Sudden Change

Avery’s POV

Sitting on the floor, I propped my back against the wall as tears freely flowed down my cheeks, the rage flowing through my heart was intense. I hated my life so much, I regretted having a father who lost everything before he died, and my mother fell sick, leaving me all alone to fend for myself in this cruel world.

I ended up falling prey in the wrong hands out of desperation to get my mother's medical bills, “Avery this is too much for you to handle!” I screamed in my head while I stood up, pacing around the room frantically.

It's time to leave, you must leave, Liam!! He is not worth it, he doesn't even love you because if he felt an iota of love for you, he would never raise his hand against you, talk less of hitting you consistently.
