Chapter 91

Nicholas POV

Alfred and Laura tumbled to the ground. She glanced back and noticed his injury; he had been shot in the arm he'd used to hold onto her.

"Quick, Laura, come over here!" I yelled. She sprang to her feet and dashed towards us. At that moment, I saw Alfred reaching for his fallen gun, and he aimed it at Laura. Panic surged through me as I reached for my own concealed firearm. He moved too quickly, squeezing the trigger, but Dickson instinctively pushed Laura aside and took the bullet instead.

I was in a state of shock. Everything had unfolded in the blink of an eye. Anger coursed through me as I squeezed the trigger, hitting his shoulder and disarming him. I approached him and emptied my bullets into his body, causing blood to splatter across the floor.
