As I sat in my office, going through the details of the potential merger with the investors, my mind couldn't help but wander to thoughts of Elizabeth. I wondered what she was up to, and if she was thinking about me as much as I was thinking about her.

Suddenly, the business committee chairman interrupted my thoughts with his suggestion that they needed someone more flexible to travel for the merger, considering my marital status. I couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration. I had always been committed to my work, but now it seemed that being married was seen as a limitation.

However, I quickly regained my composure and assured the chairman that my personal life would not interfere with my work. I was determined to make this merger a success, and nothing would stand in my way.

As the meeting came to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief mixed with excitement. The possibility of this new business venture was thrilling, but it also meant more time away from E
