September has been one hell of a month! My uncle died, my friend died, my grandmother had a stroke and now I think I might be depressed honestly. Writing this story with the thought of giving it a proper ending is the only thing that has been keeping me pushing these past few weeks. Please be patient with me, the best parts are yet to come, hopefully I can get my head straight soon.
Rain wasn’t sure how long she stood under the shower, she’d scrubbed her entire body raw more than a few times, swallowed back the screams that threatened to come up and tried her best not to cry. Or maybe she was already crying but just couldn’t tell the difference between her tears and the water cascading down on her skin. She couldn’t breathe…at some point her lungs stopped working and she had to sit on the floor and wrap her arms around her body. She’d shot a man today, she enjoyed it. That wasn’t the issue. The issue was what it reminded her of. What being covered in blood reminded her of. Maybe she was already mentally unstable before she walked into Alexander’s life…maybe this was who she really was deep down and it was hidden all this time. The water soon turned cold, that was what brought Rain out if her daze. She got up, turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around her body. She was shivering by the times she exited the bathroom. She quickly dried herself up and s
“Hmm…”The dress Rain held fell from her hands and neither of them paid heed to it. Alexander’s warm fingers went up her shirt and rested on the small of her bare back. It was like starting up another fire next to the one he’d already began. His warm tongue slipped past her lips and her’s joined his in a duel, a dance that came to her almost immediately. When was the last time she kissed a man—no—when was the last time she was kissed like this. Her legs were moving and she wasn’t sure where but at that moment she couldn’t bring herself to care, he was walking…her legs moving with his.She didn’t know why until she felt her back touch the wall and then his hands went under her thighs and pulled her up, wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled away from the kiss.“You…” he was out of breath, Rain’s eyes were closed and her lips parted as she also tried to catch her breath, the sudden loss of his warmth threatened to sober her up, she didn’t want that. She didn’t want that r
Alexander’s fists clenched the marble sink tightly. He closed his eyes and took in deep breaths but that only worsened his situation. His stomach hurt like a fucking bitch! “When I get my hands on Torricelli…” he said through gritted teeth. His eyes opened and he stared at his reflection in the mirror. His hair was tousled and his lips slightly swollen. He looked so thoroughly fucked even though he didn’t go that far with Rain. Rain. She made him drop all inhibitions the second she joined her body with his, she shocked him even more by making the first move and kissing him…one their lips touched, all of the warnings in his head became silent and he only knew one thing in that moment, that he wanted her and he had to have her. No woman had ever pushed him to the brink of losing his self control before, only Rain did that to him. Only Rain. She was like a forbidden fruit that kept calling, consequences be damned! Once they were done with this fucking charity Ball, he was going to
It was not as loud as Rain expected it to be.Once they stepped in and we’re noticed, the hall quietened even more. All eyes were on them, some looked on in fear, some in attraction and others just pure lust. The hall was filled up with at least a hundred—if not more—people. Most of them were extravagantly dressed, women glittered and men pulled up their collars too high and their ties too tight. It was a ball alright. A place where everyone definitely came to show that they were better than the other, they were more well off and shined the most. The Equinox Ball is supposed to be a charity Ball considering what she had researched on Google, but right now it just looked like a place where people came to show off how much money they had.Others would walk in and think, ‘Damn, everyone is so fancy!’ But Rain knew better, Rain could see beneath all those façades.Ninety percent of the people there were just showing off fake luxury they could only afford once. The remaining ten per
“This is Mr. Edgar, he’s a well known painter…he’s done most of the works in my apartment, I’ll show them to you when you have the chance!” Viola was introducing this particular person with a smile and she seemed rather excited to do so. Mr. Edgar was a really tall man, he had to be at least seven feet tall but he was polite enough to take a seat once he noticed the were approaching him. They joined him at his table and Viola introduced the both of them. He was handsome, he had the nicest green eyes Rain had even seen and those glasses that rested on his nose only added to his charm. “It is a pleasure,” he stretched his hand out for a handshake, a smile that didn’t actually look like a complete smile but was still a smile nonetheless was on his lips. The man looked mysterious, she liked that about him. He also didn’t drool over her and Viola like a hopeless idiot. The men Viola had introduced Rain to in the course of twenty minutes were all the same men with just different faces. S
Rain was forced to go back into the Ball. It wasn’t hit but it was suffocating and what was worse was the sight her eyes met, Alexander and Andrea hand in hand…walking around like a bunch of teenagers that just lost their virginities to each other.“Where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Rain was startled by Viola’s sudden voice, the woman stood behind her, her cheeks flushed red and her smile even wider than the past few minutes.“Did you have more to drink?”She nodded and then shook her head and then burst into a fit of giggles before placing her fingers over her lips.“Oh my God, I’m drunk!”“No shit,” Rain said with a laugh, Viola pulled Rain in for a sudden hug and planted a kiss on the side of her cheek.“What was that for?”“The dance is about to start, come so we can hand our cards over to the matron,”There were going to be seven dances, not everyone chose to fill their cards with names but because of how many offers Rain got, her card was full.
After Rain’s dance with Mr. Edgar, she decided that she wasn’t going to dance anymore, no matter what Viola tried to do to convince her. “Come on, you only have one more dance left and we’re going to be giving plenty of time to rest,” Rain shook her head. “I didn’t even dance this much at my prom. I am definitely done for the night!” She said and let out a long sigh. Clink. Clink. Mrs. Lombardi held up a glass and but it with a spoon. “Would you all please have your seats, the food is about to be served and I have a few words I would like to say,” She was so soft spoken but she didn’t look frail. Rain liked the woman, she looked like she had experienced so much in life but she still didn’t let it weaken her. Soon enough, their entire gang found the table where Rain and Viola had taken. Luigi, long faced Romeo, and Enzo who looked like he’d had one too many drinks. Seriously, what was with everyone and getting drunk at this Ball? “Hey Rain,” Ok…that has never happened before
He wasn’t supposed to be there.“Fuck!”Alexander brought a cigarette up to his lips and lit it up.He let it burn and didn’t bother inhaling or exhaling, he was too busy trying to curb his anger to do that.“Why did you suddenly walk out?”Alexander’s entire body tensed as he heard the voice behind him. The same voice that haunted him for years, the nitpicked at every single decision he made in his life and made he question his own intelligence countless times.“You know everyone saw that, it didn’t look good,” Alberto walked up to the railing of the balcony where Alexander had rested his arms and stood next to his son.Alexander was trying hard to stop himself from looking directly into his father’s eyes, out of habit...His mind warned him continuously that he wasn’t supposed to.“Why are you here?”Alberto chuckled, “You might be Don now but that doesn’t mean I won’t attend the parties I used to attend,”“You know that’s not what I mean!”“Are you raising your voice at
