He wasn’t supposed to be there.

“Fuck!”

Alexander brought a cigarette up to his lips and lit it up.

He let it burn and didn’t bother inhaling or exhaling, he was too busy trying to curb his anger to do that.

“Why did you suddenly walk out?”

Alexander’s entire body tensed as he heard the voice behind him. The same voice that haunted him for years, the nitpicked at every single decision he made in his life and made he question his own intelligence countless times.

“You know everyone saw that, it didn’t look good,”

Alberto walked up to the railing of the balcony where Alexander had rested his arms and stood next to his son.

Alexander was trying hard to stop himself from looking directly into his father’s eyes, out of habit...His mind warned him continuously that he wasn’t supposed to.

“Why are you here?”

Alberto chuckled, “You might be Don now but that doesn’t mean I won’t attend the parties I used to attend,”

“You know that’s not what I mean!”
