Sage

I get my things cleared off the table and sit back not daring to look back in his direction. I close my eyes trying to clear my head and jump when I feel heat radiating up my back. I look over at Jaxs- Jax and there is anger in his eyes the emotion swirling with the silver of his wolf. I instinctively pull away readjusting my shirt and jacket to cover up the distinct footprint left on my back. I shrink away from the wolf next to me.

He instantly grabs my wrist and a hiss escapes my lips and I pull as hard as I can out of his grasp only for him to pull me back. He's stronger and bigger than me just like pretty much everyone else around me.

He pulls me almost out of my chair to where I'm fully facing him. "Take your jacket off." He says it sternly and I can feel the low growl starting in his chest. I meet his gaze head on.

"No." I say back trying to desperately remove myself from his grasp. The fire radiating from his touch is searing up my arms and settling down in the pits of my stomach as he pulls me closer. His eyes are now more silver than blue and I find myself not giving a damn.

He doesn't get to dump all this on me and start making demands. Especially when it comes to me removing clothing. He pulls me even closer, I'm practically in his lap and my whole body lights up. The fire burns my migraine away, I feel the soreness of my muscles ease and my body relaxes against him on its own accord.

He brings a hand to my cheek. "I can't remember the last time anyone, especially someone so tiny and fragile, told me no." He says and I can feel his chest rumble against my own.

"I don't like my personal space being invaded." I say and his lips tip up into a smirk tugging me again and now I'm practically straddling his lap and I'm all to aware of him.

Too close.

My whole body is on fire and the heat it's causing is making me dizzy. "I don't like others touching, harming what's mine." He says, rumbling beneath me again. His breath hits my cheeks the mint of his breath invading my nose.

"I don't belong to anyone." I mean to sound confident but him beneath me, the fire that's blazing my skin, and the fact that his eyes have no blue left in them, I hit a nerve. A big one.

He's not the one staring back at me anymore, I'm in a staring contest with his wolf, but for the first time since I can remember I'm not afraid. He sits up making me lean back away my back hitting the table behind me his hands release my arms to grab my legs making sure I'm secure in his lap.

His face is about two inches from mine he opens his mouth to speak and I can see that his canines have extended. He grabs my injured wrist and before I can move away or protest he pulls the sleeve up my arm. The dark hand shaped bruise I had this morning has faded remarkably. It's just an ugly yellow stain on my creamy skin. He brings it to his lips and kisses it gently.

I'm not sure what comes over me but the feeling of his lips on my skin triggers something inside of me and I narrow my eyes at him. My free hand reaches for his chest and I push him back.

I'm so use to being the smallest and weakest that it catches me off guard when he hits the back of the chair with a lot more force than intended.

Jax

She pushed me. Literally pushed me back into my chair. A moment ago she was having an asthma attack and now this little girl, shewolf - she's definitely there beneath the surface and im enjoying provoking her- has enough strength to push me off. Though the shock in her eye tells me she didn't mean to at least not as hard as she did.

The more time she's around me the more her wolf surfaces and wants out. I'm enjoying this. Her eyes are swirling with both gold and green. For the first time since I've pulled her from her chair I let my eyes leave her to trail down her body.

She's done a really good job at covering it and I feel my dick twitch as the thought of ripping the clothes from her tiny frame. I've given most of the control over to my wolf at this point. He's the one egging this on. He wants to claim her right here but I'm not about to force her into being with me.

By the time my eyes make it back to hers, her face is red. "You said I had a choice to make?" Her voice is barely a whisper. I move to sit back up and she pushes me back down.

Damn she's strong and I would be a liar if I said I didn't like it. She's fiesty. "How would you like to proceed?" I ask, my lips tipping up at the confusion on her face. "You didn't think I'd force you to be with me did you? You think that lowly of me?" I say my hands slowly moving up her torso.

"I don't know you. I only know what I've heard." She says tilting her head to the side pausing. "Mostly good things. Some unpleasant. Mostly good though." She pauses thinking over the situation. I can practically see the gears turning in her head.

I know my reputation, I've done some questionable things but I stand by everything I've done and whom I've done them with and to. Then suddenly realization flashes across her face and her eyes narrow at me.

"Who knows?" She says her voice shakey again the gold fading slightly from her eyes.

My hands grip the collar of her jacket. "Jace figured it out last period. He put two and two together. Plus I'm sure he can sense your presence. I told him to keep it under wraps until I had the chance to talk to you." I say as I pull the heavy denem off her shoulders and down her arms.

I can see for the first time just how tiny she really is and just how many bruises cover her arms. I already know that she's peppered with them all over her body.

"So everyone will obviously know before lunch." I say my hands brushing up her arms. She flinches slightly at the contact. "Give me a good reason not to kill that son of a bitch." It's a growl and she shifts uncomfortably and I sit up so my eyes are level with hers. They're completely green now her wolf retreated for now.

"I've got it handled." She says quietly no longer looking in my eyes. "It only happens when he drinks too much but doesn't pass out. I was also late getting home yesterday so-"

"That's no excuse." I say cutting her off. My body is shaking, my wolf wants out, wants to take her and hide her, and I would gladly kill anyone who tried to stop me, starting with the pathetic excuse of a father.

She leans over picking up her jacket off the floor and putting it back on. "If everyone is gonna know before lunch I don't think it's in my best interest to stay here for the rest of the day." She says he eyes are glassed over and she looks thoughtful.

"It could definitely turn ugly." I say knowing once the guys all know they'll push at her and I can't let that happen before she's ready. Don't even get me started on the girls, they don't like new comers. Takes the attention away from them, she needs to be ready for anything and she can't do that in the ten minutes that's left of this free period.

"If I go home-"

"No." I say. There's no way in hell I'm letting her back into that house with that asshole.

"I got an idea." I say looking up into her eyes. "Let me take you out. Get away so you can get to know me and you can decide on what to do."

She tilts her head to the side again her dark hair falling around her. "Okay." She says.

I don't know why agreed to go with him but it's either Jax, my father, or the student body that I'll have to face and even though I hardly know this guy logically he's the safest bet I have right now. "If we're gonna go it'd be best if we get out of here before the bell." He says lifting me up off of him. I catch my footing and pick my bag back up off the floor. Our lockers are at the other end of the hall and I'll get caught in the middle if I try to return it. I bite my lip trying to figure out what to do when Jax grabs my bag and fishes the thick binder from my bag. I follow him to the front of the library where there a girl I recognize as Logan.
