chapter three

The stories of the wolf legends weren't just false folklore; they were true.

Here, in this book, I had always had. It made mention of three wolves that birthed the wolf bloodlines. All but one were dead, Emmett.

If he said he didn't belong here then he still thinks he had his home. In another universe or something else.

Wait a minute.

I went to my closet and picked up Emmett's urn. I read the hieroglyphics that were on it as I strolled to my bed.

It was a weird old English write-up that I interpreted with the help of the translator app on my phone saying;

“Where lies the dead, a new dawn…”

This was the damn word I read that woke up Emmett.

I checked out the one below the first one. “Return O Prince of furs.”

There was a distorting noise before a portal made of purple fire that reflected in my dark lighted room was formed.

Just then, when I was trying to analyze what my eyes beheld, Mrs Beatrice appeared in my view. The portal was gone, and now I stood looking at her with my mouth open, looking like I had seen the unimaginable. I have.

“Are you okay, darling?” She asked with so much surprise, her eyes were pinned to my hands.

“Yeah, I'm good…just about to check out the new stuff that Dad got me.” Realizing how weird she stared at my hands, I had to give her something before she would burn my hands with her stare, which felt like fire on the skin of my hands.

“Why would your dad want to get you an urn?”

I scoffed inwardly.

“nothing to bother about; I saw it, I wanted it, and I got it,l. I've been waiting for you too; I've been having discomfort in my abdomen.”

“You look stronger today.” She said, going straight to the bed; she tapped on the bed beside her, urging me to come sit. I did, keeping the urn back where I picked it for examining before sitting.

“That's a good thing,” I said.

“The last time I was here, I did a few checkups on you.” She said, her head was down, avoiding my gaze.

“You're losing weight, my love.”

“We need to get rid of your blood and fuse in a fresh one. It's spreading fast.”

I swallowed.

Oh God, my heart raced. Even while I knew I was closer to my death than ever I still fear death.

“The blood transfusion will be in a week; we will make arrangements.”

“Guess what?” She wrapped her arm around my shoulder with a soothing smile on her face, she's bad at changing the atmosphere.

“I'll be taking care of you while your Dad and Ozzy are out, we will have so much fun together.”

“Nice.”

*******

After having a quick shower, I went straight to my room. I'm being greeted by the presence of Emmett sitting on my study chair. He held my phone in his hand, studying it like it was some sort of specimen.

“Weird era.” He said coldly before turning to me to acknowledge my presence.

He's clothed, I wonder where he got those from. I can't lie, he looked stunning.

“Welcome, stranger.”

“I can't lie, your world is quite fascinating, Inciting also. I had a tour after I left your home and I've learned your people's way, but it wouldn't make me want to stay where I don't belong,” he spoke coldly

Who said you could stay? Not in my house at least. I scoff, unnoticed.

“I think I know of a way to send you home. Your world.”

He stood up where he sat.

“Really?”

“The path to that is through your urn at which you came from. I'm not sure it's going to work and I've been expecting your arrival so that we could give it a try.”

“I've been around most of the time of the time watching you, waiting for the right time to show up again.”

Oh my goodness, I hope he doesn't see the times when Mrs Beatrice comes to change my bandages, or what about me when I puke on the floor or go to pee?

Different thoughts swam in my head. I took a deep sigh.

I tried that same trick with the urn that ignited the portal, that has to be it. The path to Emmett's world.

I would love to accompany him to see his world. I have less than two years to live, my blood fusion is in a week. I should have a little fun while I kiss goodbye to the world.

Emmett had a peaceful but questioning grin on his face; although he seemed cold and distant, he was sweet in his weird way. I kind of forget my health issues when I'm around; he makes me feel like my Dad and Mrs. Beatrice would. They make every day look like my last day on earth like I was some kind of fragile piece that could snap at any given moment.

With Emmett, I knew peace. I had a purpose.

He didn't object when I offered to follow him; he only held me tight in his arms, and we went through the portal, holding his urn with a firm grip. It would be my only means of returning home.

Journeying through the portal, Emmett transformed. I looked up at the face that held me tightly; it was replaced with a feral-looking beast.

No. wolf, He was a fine kind. Huge, black, fury, and all that.

We got in. Huge trees enveloped our surroundings, the mushy scent of rain and wet earth filled my nostrils,s, and I breathed deeply. Emmett stood on his four limbs by my side.

The excitement had stopped. I started to feel wetness on my nose.

Blood.

I feel like I'm falling to the ground; in my blurry visions, I see Emmett shift back to human to come to my half-conscious body.

**********

Interlude.

A few hours later, she got back to Rose….

“You need to come home quickly. Rose has the urn in possession, and she's missing.” Mrs Beatrice spoke over the phone

“Emmett took her.”
