Chapter Two: SIGHTING
Later that night, Rojean dolled up to go to a place that was both a nightclub and a bar that everyone was talking about. She was old enough, for sure, especially if she was going to get married soon. But she was never the kind of person to go out on the weekends, to a club or even a bar and always preferred the comfort of their apartment which Lucas didn’t mind at all even when he wanted to go out. She was in a cream coloured off shoulder dress which stopped mid-thigh and hugged her curves beautifully.
Lucas was nowhere near strict when it comes to whatever she chooses to dress, he, infact, likes to flaunt her all the time to wherever they were going or to people whom they were meeting. But he can get a little jealous at times though he knows his place very well.
“Was that your boss?” he asked, putting on his blazer as he checked himself out in the mirror. “How was your talk that you had to be taken out to dinner?”
“Why? Were you jealous? I mean you’re okay enough, you’re cute too.” she teased, standing in front of him to fix his polo.
“Oh come on, we both know he’s better looking than me.” he laughed, pinching her cheek. “I just didn’t expect he’d be that young.”
“We’re going to drink, right? Can I drink?” she asked, taking the talk elsewhere since she didn’t want to talk about work anymore and wanted to relax tonight with her fiance.
Lucas grabbed the jacket from the countertop before leaving their apartment with Rojean by his side to his car. “You don’t have to ask me to drink, you know. I know you can hold that alcohol.”
“You won’t get annoyed when I do get drunk out of arse?” she just asked, getting inside the car as she put the jacket over her legs.
Lucas followed, driving off as he peers over to her, taking her hand in his before sighing contently. “I’ve seen worse things about you~”
“Like what?” Rojean asked, squeezing his hand with a pout on her lips.
“That you’re so goddamn beautiful, men can’t leave you alone for one minute.”
She frowned at him, pulling her hand away from his before crossing her arms against her chest, looking out of the car to see that there were already tons of cars parked in front of the venue. Lucas had a hard time looking for a spot but once a guard guided them to an available one, they were soon inside looking around.
“I already reserved a table for us. It can’t go unnoticed that this place pulls in customers. Look at the time, it’s a little bit early for a lot of people here, don’t you think?” Lucas asked, taking a seat once they were ushered to their seats.
She nodded her head to agree with his statement, now a little wary when she encountered Krister and pondered over her offer at a job, completely forgetting that she was there to forget about work for a few hours. She just couldn’t help it and she found herself cautiously looking around at every person there if there were suspicious people that might have some kind of motive to attack her. It may be just her overthinking every single thing but she felt as if she really had to.
“Are you already cold?” Lucas asked, knowing too well how she can’t stand being cold and needed warmth right away before taking off his blazer even if she brought a jacket with her. “We can order now, if you’d like.”
“That would be great, thank you.” Rojean smiled at him, scooting closer to him as Lucas waved to a waiter to take their order.
Krister had not stopped following Rojean around, already knowing where she lived and what apartment unit she was in with her fiance. He couldn’t risk it if the people after Sei catches her and mistaken her for the other person. It was after their talk that he had people behind their tail at all times without telling her-- something he’s a little bit worried she’d be mad about.
He was casual with his appearance though lowkey was a little conspicuous even if it wasn’t his intention. He was told there was a certain group that was at the bar at this time and he thought it was a bit coincidental on their part that of all the days they could have gone, they chose today. He could not take the risk or else his plan wouldn't even progress as it was getting now. In spite of the fact that Rojean will think about it, he was glad she did not straight up reject it. He knew why.
Once the drinks had arrived at their table, Rojean did not have second thoughts and gulped the drink in one sip thus surprised Lucas and caused him to laugh, letting her to whatever she wanted.
“Kiss me,”
“Don’t wanna. You taste like alcohol.” Lucas playfully sat away from her even though she was still moving closer towards him.
They were soon interrupted by a man, with a hood and sunglasses on, sitting across them at their table. It was all of a sudden and the three did not have a single clue on how to react. Krister had a few drinks already and it was stupid of him to sit there, knowing what he was doing should stay discreet but there he was, revealing himself.
‘Is he drunk??’ Rojean thought to herself, looking at the man to see if he was at all familiar to her but before she could take a good look at him, he already stood up and walked away like nothing had happened.
“What’s wrong with that guy?” Rojean remarked, her eyes following where the man had went but he seemingly disappeared
Once Krister took a seat a few distances away from them, far enough that he could still spy on them, he took his phone out and texted Rojean’s number which he got earlier, telling her that it was him and he apologised.
Rojean did seem distracted that she hadn’t noticed her phone yet that was popping up notification messages. He frowned when she wasn’t even looking at the table but at her fiance so he called her up to just warn her about who the people who were there were. And that did work when Rojean noticed her phone vibrating and picked it up.
“Hello?” Rojean greeted, talking over the loud music.
“Hey, I need you to leave!” Krister picked up his voice so he could be heard. “There’s people I want you to avoid! They’re here right now!”
‘Even on my days off, he’s going to bother me?’ Rojean thought to herself when she instantly knew the voice belonged to, her eyebrows furrowing. “We haven’t gone out for a while, can we leave a little later?”
“Okay, keep a low profile. I’ll stay here on guard.” he just said, eyeing the place if the group was even near them.
“Why would you guard??” Rojean complained before frowning, looking around if she could see where Krister was at when he dropped the call on her. She just sighed, thinking it was probably for the best that they were taken care of by someone who knew this kind of stuff-- or life even.
Lucas asked why her face was like that-- she was frowning once more, but she could only shake her head no because she just didn’t know how to begin to explain to Lucas everything that she knew so far. She could only think that the people around her would get involved in the trouble she put herself into.
Yohan, a friend of Theo Valencia, had been on the edge that night as he caught a glimpse of who looks to be like Sei from her appearance. He called up Theo to ask if he really did the job of getting rid of her just to confirm his assumptions. He had already asked the others if they also noticed and it wasn’t just him who saw. “Hey, I’m calling to ask if you know, she really is dead.”
Theo from the other line got confused. “Who are you talking about? Is it Sei? Of course, she died in front of me, what are you talking about? You all witnessed it in front of you.” he clearly didn’t know why he suddenly got so defensive.
Yohan took one look around before coming to a conclusion. ‘I might have been seeing things.’ he just thought to himself when the others didn’t even see what he saw. “I thought I saw her here. Okay, thank you. We’re all here and if you want to come, you’re more than welcomed.”
The call ended there.
“What?” Theo was still confused, getting a little bit worried even though he was so sure that the deed was done. ‘It was more than 5 minutes since her heart stopped beating. No pulse. The shot was through the heart.’ he thought to himself, his head tilted to the side as he wandered off to his own thoughts. ‘She’s unpredictable… she may or may not have planned this all along.’
Once he had calmed down and reassured himself over and over again that she was never coming back, he went back to work but he now felt uneasy.
“Lucas, babe, can we go to the mall? It feels stuffy here.” Rojean tried to make an excuse and not make it obvious she was lying by making puppy eyes at him. “And my head is aching from all the people here and the noise, oooff the noise, don’t get me started.”
“Okay baby,” Lucas smiled at her, questioning no further and just doing what she wanted, tidying up. “I know you don’t like crowded places.”
They both stood up, making their way out of the venue to get some fresh air along the way.
‘I think it’s easier to accept the situation I’m in rather than not knowing there would be people that are out to get me. I need Krister’s help if whatever he’s saying is true.’ Rojean sighed to herself. “You already ate the food by yourself.” she said to Lucas, laughing lightly.
“I’m a growing boy, I need my food.” he responded with the widest smile he could muster, all teeth out. “I’m still eating at the mall.”
She reached her chin on top of his shoulder, even when he was inches taller than her. “Can you give me chocolates, then? Please?~”
“We’ll buy you chocolates at the mall. I don’t think they serve that here, do they?”
Theo Valencia, still in his work clothes, couldn’t hold back anymore and decided to go to the bar to see if his friends were just joking around to have him come.
He was a workaholic, much like Sei, and preferred to be cooped up in his office doing all what he can get his hands on rather than go out for a drink, get women and all that jazz his friends do when they weren’t working. They work for him though he really wasn’t that strict with their schedules because if he needed them, they were always there for him.
He parked his car and got out, his face emotionless just like what it always was. It was at that moment that Rojean and Lucas exited and noticed how expensive his ride was compared to the cars that were there. It was also at that exact time that Theo looked over at their direction-- it was the first time his face said what he was feeling at all, he was shocked to say the least. Having said that, he was about to run after them when she already climbed into the car and they drove away and he let it be, thinking who the man with her might be.
He was coming up with all sorts of theories in his head that he didn’t even acknowledge the people that were approaching him when he got inside the bar. He was clearly known by a lot of people but most of the time he just ignored them if they weren’t going to be of any use to him whatsoever.
“Oh you’re here,” Yohan didn’t even think Theo would take what he said earlier seriously. “I thought you weren’t coming?”
“I just had to see for myself if she really was here.”
“Maybe it was just me seeing things, if you’re sure about getting the job done you wouldn’t have taken it seriously.” Yohan said, sliding a shot glass towards his direction.
“I saw… someone.” he said, his eyebrows furrowing before taking the glass and drinking out of it.
“I wasn’t seeing things?” Yohan asked.
“We’re sure enough that not many people know her by her face, that’s her biggest asset and advantage. So people don’t really know that she died… if she died.” Theo pointed out. “She was already dead for a few minutes, it’s damn near impossible they could have revived her. Was it a bad idea I sent her corpse back?”
“If she did, do you think she’s trying to get back at us for doing what we did?” Oswald asked, needing a few more drinks to loosen up.
‘Maybe it was just someone who looks like her? That’s more plausible than Sei herself. She wouldn’t go out at a time like this…’ Theo thought to himself before almost puking the alcohol he consumed.
He couldn’t tolerate alcohol.

It’s not that hard, isn’t it? You just have to be a little
Chapter Five: THEO MEETS LUCAS“Do you think you can snoop around if they were really dating?” Rojean asked Krister once they got inside the car where she thought it’ll be safe to talk. “Because it’s really weird for me.”“What happened? Usually they take hours in the bar.” Krister was confused.“He’s flirting with me! I’m being cautious. What if they really weren’t dating!? He’s a rival of Sei’s, right? He started talking about his feelings and blah blah blah but I just feel different, you know? I just played it safe for now. He was overreacting, you told me to be cold to everyone. Help me next time when he comes around, I don’t want to be alone with him anymore. I don’t know their relationship and I have a fiance!” Rojean
Chapter Six: LAYING LOW“I’m sorry… there are things I’m keeping from you.” Rojean said to Lucas when they got out of the car before sighing to herself. They were now walking to Lucas’ car so they could go home although Rojean seemed a little cautious of her surroundings if the others were really gone and were other people following her?Lucas could only look at her too before thinking of a question. “Who died? Why are you involved in this? Isn’t it a bit illegal? It feels illegal to me, babe.”“What did they ask you back there?” Rojean asked him first. The thing that she was anticipating from the start of doing the job was already being recognised now. Chapter Seven: A BREACH IN SECURITYRojean opened her eyes, her hands shielding them from the glare of the light from the window which curtains were opened. Her phone kept buzzing that caused her to wake up from her slumber. It didn’t bother her as she didn’t really have the time at the moment to go over any thought process but once she took a peek at her phone and Krister was constantly sending her messages, she sat up and breathed out. She realised that it was a quarter and a half past 7 and that it was too early to be dealing with Krister’s business but nevertheless she called him up to know what was going on.“Roj, I need your help. It’s urgent.” Krister sounded so panicked on the other line of phone call as he was rummaging through the file cabinets in his office. “Do you know any people I could contact when it comes to se
Chapter Eight: A PROPOSITIONRojean, whilst resting on the couch with her feet up, told Krister about her plans of trying to make Lucas handle one of the businesses Sei held. It was two birds with one stone; she wanted to find out if Krister was trustworthy, if he was willing to comply to her plans so he couldn’t get overwhelmed with the amount of work he was currently doing and the fact that if he agrees with this plan, it meant to her that it wasn’t the money he’s really going after. That he really wanted justice for Sei’s death. He couldn’t possibly hog everything Sei worked so hard for but then again, Krister was smarter than what she gives him props for. She just felt the need to watch over Sei’s work but she really couldn’t possibly let Lucas get involved in this. For a few minutes, she waited for Krister’s reply be
