ALL A MISUNDERSTANDING

Jeff picked up his clothes at her back, his hands slightly touching her soft body.

He kept his calm; he couldn't start acting like a man without self control, given they had just a moment and that was over now.

He proceeded to put on his clothes while Emily stared at him, unable to take her eyes off the way he moved. His eyes caught hers and she cleared her throat turning to face her dressing mirror.

Jeff smiled, he always had that effect on ladies when he has no shirt on. Emily seemed different. Last night she had been a seductress, in control and letting him take the reins only when she wanted.

Now, she was this cautious, gorgeous lady who seemed to pay attention to detail.

He had to leave now, he hoped to see her again but she wasn't being very friendly and from her body language he knew she wanted this "stranger" out of her home.

He checked his watch and sent a message to Walter asking to be picked up immediately.

Emily stood still recalling the incident last night. She had never expected that from Sandy; she was her best friend, and she knew how much she loved Ben.

“Ben" Her eyes filled with tears at the thought of him. She felt a sudden wave of sadness and anger.

“I'd soon be on my way, my driver would be here soon" Jeff's voice interrupted her thoughts. Here he was, a stranger who had caressed and explored every bit of her body, now wanting to leave like last night was nothing.

“Was she the only one with a heart these days?" She wondered.

“I would love- " Jeff continued intending to exchange contacts so they could keep in touch and plan a proper date.

He wanted to get to know her better and understand what had bothered her so much that she had held on to him last night, visibly distraught, but he had to leave now so he could go see his parents later on.

“Leave now" Emily interrupted.

“Don't get me wrong, I mean to-" Jeff replied.

“Leave this minute, we had a moment and what happened did. I have no intention of being anything more" Emily said, her tone slightly higher than usual.

Jeff could see she was upset and just then, his phone buzzed, Walter had arrived. He knew there was nothing more he could say that would change her mind. She walked towards the door and gestured he leave the room.

He quietly walked out of the room, and down the stairs with Emily following closely, she regretted putting herself in a mess with the same gender and wanted nothing more than to be alone at that moment.

Cotton purred as Jeff came into the living room, he gave the cat a slight pat and turned to face Emily.

“Could you at least give me a chance to explain?

“You probably misunderstand me" he said.

“There's nothing to understand. I need my space right now, and we had a fling" Emily said out right.

Jeff wondered what he had said or done to offend her, she was staring at him with mixed emotions, troubled, and he wanted to be there for her but she wouldn't hear him out.

“Or could it be she was in a relationship-or worse married, she had called out a name last night: Ben. maybe she wants me out to avoid drama," he thought, and with that, he walked towards the door.

“I truly hope you don't misunderstand what we had, have a good day" he said, then walked out the door.
