He walked into the bar and stood a few feet from the door, his eyes scanning around the bar. He was dressed in black shirts with the sleeves rolled to the elbows and black suit trousers and a very expensive-looking wristwatch on his left wrist, complimenting his rich looks. He looked really handsome as he stood by the door post, scanning the entire room with his eyes. "This way to the VIP section sir" the guard at the door welcomed him, trying to lead him to his regular section. He was a regular VIP customer at the bar, and every time he came, he went directly upstairs."Don't worry, I'll grab a quick drink at the bar" he waved the guy aside, still scanning the bar.Soft gasps escaped the lips of people who were in the bar. It was barely six pm and was definitely not the time to find Jack Antonio in a bar.Jack Antonio was top five richest guys in California. He owned a few businesses scattered around the city and country. His father was a tourist and a big lover of gems so he collect
"You know you could always pick one of them" Neil said, noticing his prolonged stare towards the bar section. Jack contemplated leaving him on the seat and going over to meet the beautiful lady but thought against it. He came with Neil and it would be rude to ditch him for a lady that might turn him down. “No, I'm fine.” he answered and turned, moving inside the VIP section. “You know, this was my favorite bar when I was younger. The women here are perfect.” he stated with a small laugh that exposed his cheek dimples.“But, you're still young,” Jack argued, picking up the bottle of tequila and filling two glasses. “I don't consider thirty-four to be young.” Neil pushed, “At least, too old to be doing those things.” he added with a little laugh. Jack found himself relaxing under the atmosphere. Few hours ago, he was very much tensed about his meeting with Neil and now, they were both drinking and laughing at the bar. “I heard you're married, how is marriage treating you, huh?” He a
Sun rays slipped into the room through the slightly parted curtains and fell directly on his face. He hissed in his sleep before stirring. It was a few minutes after six in the morning. He had worked late into the night and went to bed at half past midnight. That was his usual nature. Anytime he was stressed or bothered, he overworked to take his mind off the issue and it usually worked out for him. Even on sleeping late, he never woke up late, that was how he was trained. He took off his sleeping mask, wore his flip-flops that lay on the floor beside the bed, and made his way to the bathroom. He took a quick brush and made his way downstairs to start his day. His morning was always pre-planned. Wake up by six, take a short run, work out for forty-five minutes and be in the office by eight. He sighed as he walked past the dining area. He had forgotten to turn off the music. He grabbed his phone from the table and made his way out. Fifty-eight minutes past seven, his BMW convertible
“We have carried out about fifteen projects this year. Six minor and nine major construction projects, all in the first half of the year.” The financial manager quoted, displaying the information on the projector in the room. They were in the middle of a financial audit with their investors. After his meeting with Zack holdings had ended, Jack made a quick stop at McDonalds to grab a quick bite that would serve as brunch before driving back to the company. The deal with Zack holdings wasn't finalized yet, but they were on track and it was something to look forward to. “How much were the project valued at combined?” one of the investors seated at the end of the long table asked. He looked to be around his early sixties with a few strands of grey hairs scattered on his head. He sported a serious expression as he looked from the documents in his hands to the data displayed on the screen. “1.5 billion dollars” he replied. "The biggest was worth three hundred million dollars" he added an
He rang the doorbell and waited for a few minutes before it was opened by the maid. “Good evening sir.” She greeted politely as soon as she saw him and he nodded his head in response. He was not the type of person that talked frequently. He preferred using gestures than stressing his mouth. He made his way inside the house behind the maid and saw his mom fixing up the table. “Oh, my handsome-looking prince.” She exclaimed in delight, abandoning what she was doing to give him a tight hug. They stayed in the hug for a few seconds before he broke apart.“That's enough for the day.” he joked and they both laughed.“You are right on time, I was just setting up the table.” She said gesturing at the table where different food items were displayed. They made their way to the dining, chatting pleasantly. His father walked in with a magazine in hand. “Hey, jack. How are you doing?” his father acknowledged his presence with a little wave, taking a seat at the dining table. “I'm fine, thanks.”
He woke up and tapped on the screen of his phone to wake it. The brightness from the phone screen illuminated the room briefly, displaying “5:52 AM” boldly on the screen. He got up from the bed, fixed his legs into his shoes laying by the bed, and picked up his clothes from the table in the room. After dinner the previous night, they had stayed up discussing late into the night. From politics to business to the weather and sports, he really missed having those moments with his parents and he was glad he got them yesterday. He opened the room door noiselessly and made his way downstairs. The whole house was dangerously quiet meaning his parents were still asleep like most people in the city. Taking careful steps, he walked towards the front door, opened it and made his way out of the house into the cold sunrise. The sun was still rising slowly when he entered into his car and drove out of the estate. The road was quiet and empty. Most people living in this part of the city wouldn't be
It was forty-five minutes after ten when his Mercedes AMG CLS 53 car pulled up in the parking lot of the company. He wasn't to be in the office until noon, but he had some documents to work on so he decided to come in earlier than scheduled. The huge door to the administrative complex opened automatically as he stood in front of it. He responded to greetings from his staff as he walked into his private elevator that led to his office. “Good morning sir.” His assistant greeted him as he opened the door to his office. He responded with a nod to her as he walked toward his table.“I sent your schedule for today to your email.” She stated, flipping through the files in her hand. “You don't have any official meeting today, just have to prepare for an interview with JB media on Monday.” She added and he raised an eyebrow at her. “What interview?” he asked curiously, his eyebrows shooting to the top. He hadn't been informed of any.“An interview with my JB media, you are to appear on the fr

“There is a fifteen million dollar trust fund in your name. Your father instructed me to give you the details so you can access it.” Mrs. Lillian said, shocking Karen.“What? Are you for real?" She asked after an extended silence.“Yes, ma. Everything is real.” Lillian answered.“Why should I believe you?” She asked. She no longer knew what to believe“Can you give me your mail address so that I will forward the pieces of evidence your father sent to me.” the secretary said and she called out her mail address. “I will drop the call now. Please check your mail in thirty seconds,” she added politely. The secretary dropped the call and she rushed to open her email inbox. She had a new message and attachment from “Lillian brown.” she clicked on the video and her father's image came on“Hello, Karen. I'm sure my secretary has contacted you, and I'll be on a sheep cruise to the other part of the world by the time you watch this video. I'm sorry for all the wrongs I did. I'm sorry for leavin
The attorney stared in shock at what had just taken place in front of him. He stared speechless at a dying Damian as he clutched his neck, going breathless. He stared back at the side the bullet came from. He noticed a hole made in the glass. It was where the bullet had passed through. Whoever shot that had a lot of precision. He called for help and Damian was rushed to the hospital. Few minutes after getting to the hospital, he was declared dead. With no more evidence and the death of the only testifier they had, the investigations into the deep four were put on hold.**Few months later**After the death of Damian, calm returned to Jack. His company was now performing very well. It had been many months since Karen left, but he lived every day with the conviction that she was going to return one day. He hadn't heard from her since she left and he had also refused to date again. He parked his car in the parking lot of his company and stepped out. He noticed a strange car parked in the
“No”“Yes. I'll be waiting for you.” he pulled her into a hug before kissing her on the forehead. “Be a good boy, kiddo.” he turned to Jayden and roughened his hair.“Now, go.” he muttered and stepped back. Tears welled up in Karen's eye as he stared at him before turning and pulling her box inside the airport building.***Meanwhile, the news of Damian's arrest had spread all over the city. Jack had made the police keep the reason for his arrest a top tier secret, however, there were already speculations flying about. His company had since been shut down for investigation over corruption charges and interrogation intensified. Seeing the turn of events, most of his investors had pulled out, leaving the company to crumble.“Hope this interests you.” the attorney stated, pushing a document to him on the table they sat. Damian picked it up and stared at the content before looking at the attorney. “Your company has been shut down, your investors have left, and there are fresh charges of
The sound of the gunshot alerted the cops and they all rushed into the room with their guns out. Damian was disarmed and handcuffed while some men went to Jack's side. Harry untied Jack and he got up, feeling the soreness of his hands.Karen laid on the floor, weak and almost passing out. The bullet had caught her arm and it was now bleeding. If not for the timely push Jack had pushed her, maybe it would have hit her chest.Jack rushed to her side and tried to lift her up. The muscles in his body failed him, making him almost fall forward. Harry rushed to his aid, and together, they helped Karen to the car. Jack tore a piece of his clothing to tie Karen's wond while Harry drove to the hospital. They arrived at the hospital thirty minutes later. Karen had been alternating between consciousness and unconsciousness. Karen was rushed into the operation theatre while Jack was admitted into a room. After twenty minutes, the bullet was taken out of her arm, and she was left under anesthesia
The loud buzzing of Karen's phone woke her up from her sleep. She had slept late the previous night. She picked up her phone from the nightstand and checked the time. It was few minutes past six am. Who the fuck was disturbing her sleep by this time of the morning!“It better be something good.” she muttered before opening the message. The message was short from an unsaved contact. It contained an address and direction to the address with a simple text that read “Jack's location. ” She jumped out of the bed, her heart beat increasing. She quickly brushed, washed her face and changed into another cloth before placing a call to Harry “Good morning Harry. Please, get the cops on standby. I think I have information on Jack's whereabouts. I'll meet you in your house in ten minutes.” She spoke breathlessly without giving him a chance to respond. She dropped the call and kissed Jayden on the forehead before picking him.She rushed out to her car, put Jayden at the backseat and took the wheels
She crashed to the chair slowly and Harry rushed to her side. He got the phone from her and checked the content of the text. His expression darkened as he finished reading the text.“When did he send this?” he directed the question at Karen.“Two days ago. He left here angrily and I haven't heard from him since then.” She answered.“We need to inform the police. This may be bigger than us.” Harry spoke. They all drove to the police station. Harry met with the inspector and filed a missing complaint. He showed the police the text Jack had sent and Karen informed him of how he had stormed out angrily.“I need this search to remain secret. None of these must get to the press or anybody in the public.” Harry cautioned.“Be rest assured, Mr Blake. We will find Mr Antonio very soon, and none of this will get to the public.” The inspector replied. Harry nodded in understanding and shook hands with the inspector before walking out. The police soon began the search. They visited some of the h
“Hello, Jack Antonio.” Damian called out his name scornfully. He smoked from the pipe in his hand, puffing the air out through nose.Jack remained silent, fixing a deep glare at him. His phone was switched off inside his pocket. At that point, he only hoped she had gotten the text and was planning another line of action. A smirk spread on his lips at the thought of ridiculing Damian.“You are now a drug dealer, huh?” he smirked. “It makes a lot of sense now. You needed a lot of money to compete and keep up with me.” Jack added with a sly smile. Damian remained calm as he puffed smoke from his pipe.“I told you this is a battle, not a war and I'll always be victorious.” Damian got up from the chair and walked up to Jack. He dragged his smoke for some seconds, puffing the smoke on Jack's face. “And what did you say about Karen being your woman?”“Guess who has a one year old child with her?” Jack smirked in a bid to spite Damian.“Guess whose child is gonna grow up without a father.” Da
Karen sighed before speaking up. “Is there anything to talk about?”“Of course. There are a lot of things to talk about.” Jack replied. He walked closer to her untill he stood few feet away from her. “Lets talk about us. I know I fucked up massively and I am really sorry. All I'm asking for is that you forgive me and give me one more chance, let's build our future together.”Karen stared at him as he finished speaking. Her stare was long and piercing. She got up from the chair, walked to fridge in the dinning room and pulled out two bottles of water before returning. She handed one bottle to Jack and uncapped her's, drinking a little quantity.“You clearly broke up with me. You wronged me greatly, and I don't wanna go back to that past.” she replied, defiant.“You-” he paused, stopping his sentence at the beginning before running his fingers through his hair. He realized if he wanted to win her back, he had to be calm. “What about Jayden?” he finally asked.“I will take care of him. I
