CHAPTER FOURTY: F*CK, MY LIFE IS A LIE

WILLIAMS’ POV

A tense silence stretched between us, thick enough to choke on. The photo of the woman, an echo of a past I never knew, lay forgotten at my feet. My mom's hand, hovering hesitantly near mine, finally retreated. Shame bloomed in her chest, a suffocating pressure mirroring the turmoil within me.
