(Allison's POV)

"You look so beautiful, Mummy," Liam complimented my dress.

"You think so?" I asked with a smile.

"I don’t just think so, Mummy; I know so. You may not be a celebrity, but those celebrities can’t come close to your beauty," Liam praised me again.

I crouched down to his height, playfully ruffling his hair. "You're so good with words! Where did you learn that?" I asked, and he grinned.

"Because you're beautiful, Mummy. I'm just speaking the truth."

"Thanks for the compliment, son," I smiled at him.

"Come and have your dinner, Liam," Aunt Hilda said, emerging from the kitchen as she set the table for Liam's meal.

Liam rushed to the dining room and sat down in one of the chairs while I walked towards Aunt Hilda.

"Aunt Hilda," I called, and she lifted her head from the table to look at me.

"You haven't left yet? I thought you would be at the party by now," she said.

"I was just receiving some compliments from my son," I replied, and Aunt Hilda chuckled

(Scott's POV) I arrived at Naomi's birthday party even before Allison did. I saw her get out of her car, looking so beautiful in the dress she was wearing. She wasn't the celebrant, but to me, she stole the show. Even when I entered the grand hall without her knowledge, I could see her eyes moving around as if she was looking for someone. I couldn't help but think she was looking for me. When Naomi invited me to her birthday party, I didn't want to attend—not because I felt I didn't belong, but because I don't fancy parties. However, when she told me my Allie was coming, I didn't hesitate to accept her invitation. I wanted to see her beautiful face, and I didn’t regret coming. While seated, I noticed her eyes drifting to the entrance of the hall with every passing second. She was definitely looking for me, and I was a hundred percent sure of that. I got up from where I was sitting and approached her with a rose. She had always been a lover of roses, and she would light up with joy

(Scott's POV) "You don't mind us dancing," I heard him say with a smile as I got closer to them. Allison nodded, returning the smile. The man stretched out his hand, and just as Allison was about to accept it, I held her hand, making her stand up. "She isn't going to dance with you," I said, my voice cold, just like the way I was glaring at him. "What are you doing?" Allison asked, trying to take her hand from me, but I held it tightly. "Scott Stiles," the man smiled at me. "I didn't know you come to parties like this." "Yes, I do. You should find someone else to dance with. She is with me," I said icingly, not caring if he was smiling at me. I'm always protective of the things I love, and Allison is at the top of that list. Before Allison could protest that she didn't come with me, I pulled her away from the man to a quiet area in the hall. "What was that for, Scott?" she asked. "I should be asking you that, Allie. Why would you agree to dance with him?" I asked, keepi

(Writer's POV)"Ahhhghhh!" Jenna screamed angrily, throwing a glass of wine against the wall. The glass shattered into tiny pieces. Lydia, her friend, who had heard the scream, rushed out of the room immediately."What's wrong, Jenna? Why are you screaming, and why did you throw a glass at the wall?" Lydia asked, noticing Jenna was still fuming."I'm so angry I feel like killing someone right now!" Jenna spat. The veins in her neck were visible, indicating her rage."Relax, girl. No one is dying, and you're not going to kill anyone. What’s making you so pissed off? You were in a good mood just a few minutes ago," Lydia said, trying to understand why her friend had suddenly turned from cheerful to a furious tigress ready to pounce."I was in a good mood because I thought Scott was going to come here.""Scott? The guy you went to London with but ended up cheating on?" Lydia asked."You don't have to remind me of that, Lydia!" Jenna glared at her."Fine. I'm sorry. I was just trying to c

(Allison's POV) Scott's eyes were on me as we drove toward his house. I would have said no when he asked me to drop him off, but I didn't know why I had agreed. Maybe I was just returning the favor for how he always walked me home when we were together. The way he had pulled me away from that celebrity replayed in my mind, and I sighed, unsure if it had come out loud. I didn't mean to lash out at Scott like that. He was never a controlling boyfriend; I said it in anger, wanting him to know I was no longer the lovesick girl trying to please him. We weren't together anymore, and he had no right to meddle in who I interacted with. I wanted him to understand that. "Stop looking at me, Scott. I'm not comfortable with how you're staring at me," I said, finally shifting my gaze from the road to him. "I can't help it, Allie. You've always been beautiful, but you look especially stunning tonight," he said, his eyes refusing to leave mine. I was tempted to blush at his words, but I held bac

(Scott's POV) While waiting for Allison to come out of the room, I prayed that the rain wouldn't stop anytime soon so I could spend some time with her. It felt selfish to always want her around, especially since I had taken those moments for granted before. I sat down in the wine cellar, slowly sipping a glass of wine, when Allison finally emerged from the room. She was already putting on my hoodie, which reminded me of the countless times she'd worn my clothes whenever she visited me. She was so funny back then. When she came to visit me at my condo before our breakup, she won't purposely bring her own clothes just so she could wear mine. "I love the way your clothes smell on me," she'd always say, jumping on me because she knew I would catch her. I missed those moments—when I could freely wrap my arms around her slender waist, scoop her up, and kiss her until we were both breathless. I missed the days I could claim her without her trying to stop me. But now, I couldn’t do any of

(Allison's POV) I smiled in my sleep as I rolled over in bed. I lifted the huge duvet, covering my whole body with it, while I continued tossing and turning, lost in my dreams. I found comfort in this bed; it was so different from mine, and I could lay down on it forever. "It's so different from my bed!" the thought surged through my mind, and I quickly opened my eyes. I sprang up, my eyes widening in shock as I realized I had spent the night at Scott's house. What the heck happened last night? I was supposed to go home after the rain stopped, so how did I end up spending the night here? A portrait of him hung on the wall, confirming that this was Scott's room. I ran my hand through my hair as I tried to recall what had happened. Scott had insisted we talk about Liam. I would have declined, but since I'd do anything for my son's sake, I agreed to have a drink with him. My eyes darted around the room, my hair scattered all over my face, as I tried my best to remember what happ

(Allison's POV) Bonnie immediately rushed to me when I arrived at the office. "Good morning, Allison," she greeted with a smile. "Good morning," I replied, knowing the reason for that smile on her face. "I'll help you carry your bag," she said, taking it from me. I chuckled as we entered the elevator heading to my office. The moment we stepped inside, Bonnie dropped my bag on the table. "Tell me, Allison. Where did you spend the night yesterday?" she asked, excited to hear the full story. "Nowhere," I replied as I sat down, and Bonnie frowned. "Are you trying to say you spent the night on the streets? I doubt that. I'm sure you spent the night at a man's house." "What makes you think I spent the night at a man's house?" "Because you don't have any friends apart from me. Didn't you say the friends you knew are all from Sydney?" she asked, and I smiled. After my parents died, my brother and I moved to California to stay with Aunt Hilda. So, the friends I was close with are all i

(Allison's POV) "Order anything you want to eat, Allison," Jenna smiled at me as she handed the menu to me. At first, I didn't want to eat out with her, but after she kept insisting, I had to agree to her demand. And here we are, dining at an expensive restaurant meant for first-class people like her. It's no doubt that she is a rich heiress, with the way she carries herself and how she dresses. It got me wondering why she showed up unexpectedly at my workplace, demanding we eat out together. Faking a smile, I took the menu from her and placed my order. "Are you sure you just want cocktail? We came here to eat, so you can order any expensive food you want," she said, smiling at me, her legs crossed elegantly. "I’m okay with just cocktail," I replied, faking a smile back at her. My main concern was why she came to see me. "I'm going to have cocktail too," she said to the waiter, who nodded and left. "You're not going to eat?" I asked. "I want to be a copycat," she laughed at her

(Allison's POV) "How can you do such a thing to my uncle, Allison? I know he hurt you in the past, but I thought you both were trying to fix your relationship," Clara asked with a hurtful voice. "It’s not what you think, Clara," I said, trying to hold her hand, but she jerked my hand away. "Not what I think? Then what am I supposed to think, Allison? My uncle loves you so much, so why are you going for a man in a wheelchair? If you no longer love my uncle, you should just tell me rather than cheating on him." "Can you stop it!" I yelled at her. She was jumping to conclusions without even allowing me to speak. Clara went silent, giving a disapproving look. "I followed you here just to give you your handbag, which you left in my care, but I wish I had just thrown it away rather than following you to discover you're cheating on my uncle!" She spat and dropped my handbag on the ground, walking away from me. "Clara!" I called, going after her and catching up. "You've got it

(Allison's POV) I woke up the following morning with a pounding headache. I had cried myself to sleep. I was extremely hurt by what Scott had said to me. I wished he hadn't told me, but then again, it was better hearing it from him than from Jenna. If Jenna had been the one to tell me, it would have felt like she had won. I wanted to hate Scott for what he did, but I couldn't bring myself to do so. Although he might have ended our relationship when he had sex with Jenna, why on earth did it have to be on the same day he shattered my heart? It hurt so much. I didn’t want to create memories of Scott’s night with Jenna, but the images kept forming in my head—how he had kissed her, how his hands had roamed over her, and worst of all, how he had given himself to her. Fuck! I shouldn’t be imagining these things because they would only hurt me more, but I couldn’t help myself. "Mummy!" Liam's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. He was already dressed for school—a reminder that I hadn’

(Writer's POV) "Why the heck did you do that, Scott?!" Jenna shouted, shocked that Scott had punched his own father. "There’s no rule that says I can't punch my own father when he misbehaves," Scott said, burning with anger. Gwen and Jason rushed out of the house after hearing Jenna's voice. The moment Scott saw Jason, he charged at him and threw a punch. "What the heck is wrong with you?! Why did you hit my son?!" Gwen shouted, slapping Scott's chest. Hugo emerged from the pool, his clothes dripping with water. "Scott!!!" he bellowed. Scott turned to face him, his eyes burning with rage. "Have you lost your mind?! How dare you punch me?!" Hugo roared. "You’re the one who's lost his mind, Hugo!" Scott shot back, calling him by his name. "What gave you the right to approach Allison and threaten her?! Who the hell do you think you are?!" he shouted. "As if that wasn't enough, Jason dared to attack her. How dare you?!" He snarled and threw another punch at Jason, but th

(Writer's POV) "Good night, ma'am," Allison's new secretary said to her as she was about to enter her car. Allison had spent most of the day making new designs for sale, but if she were honest, she had spent the entire day working on those designs to avoid thinking too much about Hugo's threats. "You too, Lillian," she beamed at her secretary before getting into her car. She had brought her car to her clothing line, as her plan was to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things for Stefan. She hadn’t visited him as she promised because she was too preoccupied with Scott's dad’s threat. "Don’t dwell on it, Allison. He wouldn’t be able to hurt you. It’s just a threat," she exhaled deeply. Allison continued driving until she noticed a car behind her. She cleared the way for the car to pass, thinking she might be blocking its path, but the car drove past her and stopped in front of her at full speed. Allison screamed loudly as she slammed on the car brakes. If she hadn't been wea

She sent him a text message, but he neither viewed nor replied to it. "What's going on, Bonnie?" her mom asked as she entered her room. "You didn't touch your food. Why?" "I'm going to eat it later," Bonnie replied with a sigh. "You're going to eat later?" Her mom furrowed her eyebrows. "It's not like you to ditch my cooking, Bonnie. And come to think of it, you've been on your phone all day. Don't tell me you're trying to make up with Allison? I don't like you being friends with that woman!" "Mom, can you please just stop! I'm not trying to make up with Allison. I still hate her for what she said, if that's what you want to hear," Bonnie hissed and stood up from the bed. "Where are you going?" "I'm stepping out for a bit." "You can't do that, Bonnie. You haven't eaten all day," her mom complained. "Where I'm going is

(Allison's POV) "Good morning, sir," I quickly greeted after he introduced himself as Scott's father. This was the first time I was meeting a member of his family face-to-face. "And what's so good about the morning?" he asked. "Huh?" I raised my eyebrows, wondering why he was speaking to me in such a tone. "You and Scott broke up six years ago, right? What's your relationship with him like now?" he asked. "Well, I—" "I don't want to hear it," he cut me off with a hateful glare. Why does he hate me when he's just meeting me again for the first time? But then I remembered his relationship with Scott. If such a man could hate his own son, why would he like anyone outside his family? He was no different from what Scott had said about him. "I'm not here to have a conversation with you, Allison McCall. I'm going to get straight to the point. Stay away from Scott," he declared. Is this some kind of movie where the female lead is hated by the male lead's family? "You're not fit to b

"I'm fine, Allison, though my uncle keeps insisting I’m not. It's just a bruise—I'm totally fine," she said. "He's just worried about you, that's all." "Yeah, I know. Is it fine if I stay here and go to school?" "Of course, it’s fine with me. It’s your uncle’s house—you can do whatever you want." "Thanks, Allison! You're just as sweet as your cooking," she grinned, and I nodded. "Where's Scott?" I asked, wondering why I hadn’t seen him since I arrived. "He took Liam to school," she replied, and I sighed. I had almost forgotten Liam needed to go to school. "Why didn’t you come home last night, Allison? My uncle was worried about you," she pouted. "Something came up, that’s all. How did Scott take it?" I asked curiously. "I don’t know. He didn’t say much about it, but I could tell h

"Why are you here? Why can't you leave me alone? Haven't you hurt me enough?" he asked. "I'm sorry for what I did," I apologized sincerely. "Your apologies won't mend my broken heart," he sniffled. "I know that, and that's why I'm here—to at least try to fix it. I want to make up for hurting you by being here for you. I want to take care of you until you get better," I said. "Does Scott know you're here?" he asked. I knitted my eyebrows, wondering why he cared, but I still answered his question. "No, he doesn't." "Why didn't you tell him?" he asked again. Am I that hard for you to love?" "It's not like that, Stefan. I..." "That's enough, Allison," he cut me short. "I don't want to hear another word from you. Leave," he said, pointing at the door. "I can't leave you in this state. I can't date you, but you're still my friend. Let me help you until you're able to walk again." "I don't need your pity, Allison. Just leave me alone. Leave, Allison! I don't want to see you!" he screamed, throwing tantrums like a child. His voice attracted the doctor and nurses, and they all rushed in.
