(Writer's POV)

"Ahhhghhh!" Jenna screamed angrily, throwing a glass of wine against the wall. The glass shattered into tiny pieces. Lydia, her friend, who had heard the scream, rushed out of the room immediately.

"What's wrong, Jenna? Why are you screaming, and why did you throw a glass at the wall?" Lydia asked, noticing Jenna was still fuming.

"I'm so angry I feel like killing someone right now!" Jenna spat. The veins in her neck were visible, indicating her rage.

"Relax, girl. No one is dying, and you're not going to kill anyone. What’s making you so pissed off? You were in a good mood just a few minutes ago," Lydia said, trying to understand why her friend had suddenly turned from cheerful to a furious tigress ready to pounce.

"I was in a good mood because I thought Scott was going to come here."

"Scott? The guy you went to London with but ended up cheating on?" Lydia asked.

"You don't have to remind me of that, Lydia!" Jenna glared at her.

"Fine. I'm sorry. I was just trying to c

(Allison's POV) Scott's eyes were on me as we drove toward his house. I would have said no when he asked me to drop him off, but I didn't know why I had agreed. Maybe I was just returning the favor for how he always walked me home when we were together. The way he had pulled me away from that celebrity replayed in my mind, and I sighed, unsure if it had come out loud. I didn't mean to lash out at Scott like that. He was never a controlling boyfriend; I said it in anger, wanting him to know I was no longer the lovesick girl trying to please him. We weren't together anymore, and he had no right to meddle in who I interacted with. I wanted him to understand that. "Stop looking at me, Scott. I'm not comfortable with how you're staring at me," I said, finally shifting my gaze from the road to him. "I can't help it, Allie. You've always been beautiful, but you look especially stunning tonight," he said, his eyes refusing to leave mine. I was tempted to blush at his words, but I held bac

(Scott's POV) While waiting for Allison to come out of the room, I prayed that the rain wouldn't stop anytime soon so I could spend some time with her. It felt selfish to always want her around, especially since I had taken those moments for granted before. I sat down in the wine cellar, slowly sipping a glass of wine, when Allison finally emerged from the room. She was already putting on my hoodie, which reminded me of the countless times she'd worn my clothes whenever she visited me. She was so funny back then. When she came to visit me at my condo before our breakup, she won't purposely bring her own clothes just so she could wear mine. "I love the way your clothes smell on me," she'd always say, jumping on me because she knew I would catch her. I missed those moments—when I could freely wrap my arms around her slender waist, scoop her up, and kiss her until we were both breathless. I missed the days I could claim her without her trying to stop me. But now, I couldn’t do any of

(Allison's POV)* I smiled in my sleep as I rolled over in bed. I lifted the huge duvet, covering my whole body with it, while I continued tossing and turning, lost in my dreams. I found comfort in this bed; it was so different from mine, and I could lay down on it forever. "It's so different from my bed!" the thought surged through my mind, and I quickly opened my eyes. I sprang up, my eyes widening in shock as I realized I had spent the night at Scott's house. What the heck happened last night? I was supposed to go home after the rain stopped, so how did I end up spending the night here? A portrait of him hung on the wall, confirming that this was Scott's room. I ran my hand through my hair as I tried to recall what had happened. Scott had insisted we talk about Liam. I would have declined, but since I'd do anything for my son's sake, I agreed to have a drink with him. My eyes darted around the room, my hair scattered all over my face, as I tried my best to remember what happene

(Allison's POV) Bonnie immediately rushed to me when I arrived at the office. "Good morning, Allison," she greeted with a smile. "Good morning," I replied, knowing the reason for that smile on her face. "I'll help you carry your bag," she said, taking it from me. I chuckled as we entered the elevator heading to my office. The moment we stepped inside, Bonnie dropped my bag on the table. "Tell me, Allison. Where did you spend the night yesterday?" she asked, excited to hear the full story. "Nowhere," I replied as I sat down, and Bonnie frowned. "Are you trying to say you spent the night on the streets? I doubt that. I'm sure you spent the night at a man's house." "What makes you think I spent the night at a man's house?" "Because you don't have any friends apart from me. Didn't you say the friends you knew are all from Sydney?" she asked, and I smiled. After my parents died, my brother and I moved to California to stay with Aunt Hilda. So, the friends I was close with are all i

(Allison's POV) "Order anything you want to eat, Allison," Jenna smiled at me as she handed the menu to me. At first, I didn't want to eat out with her, but after she kept insisting, I had to agree to her demand. And here we are, dining at an expensive restaurant meant for first-class people like her. It's no doubt that she is a rich heiress, with the way she carries herself and how she dresses. It got me wondering why she showed up unexpectedly at my workplace, demanding we eat out together. Faking a smile, I took the menu from her and placed my order. "Are you sure you just want cocktail? We came here to eat, so you can order any expensive food you want," she said, smiling at me, her legs crossed elegantly. "I’m okay with just cocktail," I replied, faking a smile back at her. My main concern was why she came to see me. "I'm going to have cocktail too," she said to the waiter, who nodded and left. "You're not going to eat?" I asked. "I want to be a copycat," she laughed at her

(Allison's POV) "Stefan!" Aunt Hilda exclaimed as she stood up from the couch to give Stefan a warm embrace. "How have you been, Stefan?" "I've been good, Aunt Hilda," Stefan replied with a smile. I stayed where I was, unsure of what to say to him. Alex leaned against the wall, clearly unhappy to see Stefan. "I thought you'd be back soon, but you were gone for too long. I know New York is your home, but you shouldn't have taken so long to come back," Aunt Hilda said, caressing his palm. I could see the genuine love she had for Stefan—she didn't just love him as a son, but also as someone she thought would be good for me. Even though she didn’t say it to my face, I knew she wanted Stefan for me. She hadn’t pressured me in the past because she understood what I had been through. "I'm sorry, Aunt Hilda. There were so many demands for children's books, and I had to wrap them up before coming down to California to see you all." "You are such a handsome, hardworking man," Aunt Hilda

(Writer's POV)Alex and Stefan ended up at a nearby open bar. It was the kind where passersby could easily glimpse inside. Alex had chosen this spot because it was quiet and different from the indoor bars that played loud, deafening music."Are you in love with my sister?" Alex asked coldly, his tone sharp and authoritative. From the way he spoke, one might mistake him for a spoiled little brat, but he was far from it. Alex loved Allison deeply and was determined to ensure that the heartbreak she had endured before would never repeat itself. He was only fourteen when Scott shattered Allison’s heart, and all Alex could do then was console his devastated sister. But now, as an adult, he had the strength and determination to protect her at all costs, even if it meant confronting anyone who dared to hurt her.Stefan smiled calmly and poured alcohol into Alex’s glass. "Have a drink?""I asked you a question, Stefan. It’s disrespectful to ignore me," Alex fumed, his irritation evident."It’

(Allison's POV) "Where's Alex?" I asked when Stefan came back without him. "He went back to school," Stefan replied, and I frowned. "He went back to school without telling me? When did he start doing that?" I asked, though I didn't expect an answer from Stefan. "He said he had an early class tomorrow, and that's why he went back to school. But don't worry, Allison. Alex will be fine—he's not a kid anymore," Stefan tried to calm my nerves, but I couldn't stop myself from worrying about him. Alex is my younger brother, and I care about him just as much as he cares about me. I quickly grabbed my phone to call him, just to make sure he was back at school, but Bonnie beat me to it—she has a knack for calling whenever I’m about to check on my family. "What's up, boss?" Bonnie said loudly over the phone. She always calls me "boss" when she wants to tease me. "Hey, Bonnie. What's up?" "I'm good. I just dropped your younger brother off at his school." "Alex?" I asked. (Allison's POV) I wished this was just my imagination. I wished it was merely a hallucination that my family had seen me hugging Scott, but it wasn’t imagination, nor was I hallucinating. “What’s going on here?” Aunt Hilda asked, trying hard not to believe what she had just witnessed. I quickly rushed to her. “Aunt Hilda, I can explain—” My words were cut short by a slap from her, while Alex rushed to Scott and, with fury in his eyes, punched him in the face. Liam, who had seen it all, quickly got down from the mini car he had been playing with. “Aunt Hilda, why did you slap my Mummy? Uncle Alex, why did you slap my Daddy?” Liam asked, unaware that he was only adding fuel to the fire. Aunt Hilda and Alex gave me a disappointing look after Liam called Scott his Daddy. My heart ached as they stared at me. “Aunt—” I began, tears streaming down my face, but Aunt Hilda cut me off. “I don’t want to hear anything, Allison!” she yelled. I could see the tears threatening to spill from

(Allison's POV) I stepped out of the car when I arrived at Scott's residence. The weekend was over, and it was time to take Liam back home. I could have asked Scott to bring him, but with Stefan still in California, I needed to be cautious—I don't know when he might show up at my doorstep. "Mummy!" Liam rushed into my arms as Scott opened the door for me. "How has my son been?" I asked, hugging him tightly. I had missed him so much that I kept praying for the weekend to be over, just so I could have him back home. "Mummy, I can't breathe," he struggled to say, and I quickly stopped hugging him, caressing his cheek as excitement surged through me. "I missed you so much, Liam," I said, playing with his cheeks. "I missed you too, Mummy. But Daddy took care of me. He brought lots of storybooks for me. He also built a huge castle with me, and we played lots of games together. I even ate my favorite chocolates and ice cream," Liam said, smiling with every word that left his mout

(Writer's POV) "Welcome back, ma," the maids greeted as Jenna entered the house, her arms laden with shopping bags. Being bratty as always, Jenna tossed the bags at them carelessly before flopping onto the couch, a smirk forming on her face. "What's with the smile?" Lydia asked, emerging from the kitchen. "There you are, Lydia," Jenna grinned, causing Lydia to furrow her brows in confusion. "Someone looks happy today. What happened?" Lydia asked as she took a seat beside Jenna on the couch. "My plan is finally falling into place," Jenna said excitedly. Lydia raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled. "What plan?" she asked. "Are you suffering from dementia? How can you forget so easily?" Jenna replied, slightly annoyed. "I'm sorry, I don’t remember any plan you told me about." Jenna shot Lydia an irritated glare before smiling again. "Since I'm in a good mood, I’ll tell you all about it." She paused before continuing, "I’m finally friends with Allison." "Allison? The same

(Allison's POV) "Are you sure letting Liam spend the weekend with Scott is a good idea?" Bonnie asked when I told her about Liam's decision the following day at work. "That's what Liam wanted. I couldn't say no to him," I muttered. I did everything I could last night to convince Liam to get down from Scott's car, but he refused, claiming he wanted to see what his daddy's house looked like. So, I gave in to his request. I couldn’t even sleep a wink all night; it was my first time being apart from Liam. "I know you love your son so much, but you don’t always have to agree to everything he says," Bonnie suggested. "I just can’t help it, Bonnie. You know how difficult it was for me to bring him into this world, right? Liam is my source of joy. He’s the reason I didn’t give up and kept striving even when things were tough. Besides, Scott is his dad—he just wants to spend time with him," I explained to Bonnie. "It would've been a different story if your family knew you allowed Scott

(Scott's POV) "Daddy, what's that?" Liam asked excitedly, pointing at the rollercoaster. I had him perched on my shoulders, his enthusiasm radiating through every word. "It's a rollercoaster," I replied with a small smile. "It looks like fun! Can I ride it?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "No, you can't," I said gently. "Why not?" "You're too young for that," I explained. "When you get older, Daddy will let you ride a rollercoaster." "Is that a promise?" His voice brimmed with excitement. When I nodded, he broke into a happy little dance, momentarily forgetting he was on my shoulders. For a five-year-old, he had no idea how heavy he was, but he’s my son—I’d endure it anyways. As for Allison, she hadn’t said much since we got here. She only agreed to come because she’s the kind of mom who’d do anything for her son. But the thought of Stefan being back in California kept gnawing at me. The way he tried to provoke me at the restaurant still lingered i

(Allison's POV) "What are you doing here? No, how did you get into my house?" I demanded, certain that I never gave him the password to my house. "I see you're back from your date," he said, like a husband who had been waiting for his wife to come home. "You haven't answered my question, Scott. How did you get in here?" I asked, walking up to him. "Did you break into my house?" "I am not a thief. Why would I break into your house?" Scott replied, clearly entertained as he continued eating from the bowl of cereal in his hand. "Then tell me how you got in!" I shouted, letting him know I was dead serious. He put the bowl of cereal on the table and stood up, his height towering over me. We were so close that I had to moved back a little. "Tell me how you got in." "Liam helped out," he answered. "Liam? He’s supposed to be in school. So what the heck are you saying?" I asked, anger bubbling within me. Of course, I had to be angry. What if Stefan had come in with me when I

(Allison's POV) Is he crazy? I thought to myself, staring at Scott, who looked deadly serious about what he had just said. Both Bonnie and Peter had surprised looks on their faces as they tried to process why he wanted to join our date. "Boss, I thought you said you had something to attend to?" Peter asked, while Bonnie’s eyes remained fixed on Scott. She had met him but still had no idea he was my ex—the same man she loathed so much. "I changed my mind. I’m going to have lunch with the four of you," he said. With every word that came out of his mouth, his gaze was locked on Stefan’s hand, which was still firmly placed on my waist. I could clearly see the jealousy in his eyes, but I didn’t care. He shouldn’t be part of this date. What if he spilled the truth about having access to being Liam’s father out of jealousy or anger? "I don’t think that will be possible, Scott," I said. At the mention of his name, Bonnie quickly looked at me, wondering if this was the same Scott I h

(Allison's POV)"Really? Alex called you but didn't say a word?" I asked Bonnie, who was sitting across from me."Yes. I tried calling him back, but he didn't pick up. I don't know why he hates it so much when I call him 'kid brother,'" Bonnie frowned."Or maybe you should stop calling my brother a kid. He's already twenty years old," I teased."He's still a kid to me, Allison. You better tell your brother to get used to it because I am his big sis.""You are just so obsessed with calling Alex your kid brother because you're an only child.""You're right. Should I adopt him so he can accept me as his big sister?" Bonnie asked, and we both laughed at her words. But it's still strange to me why Alex doesn't want Bonnie as his big sister when we all act like a family."So, have you thought of a way to tell your family the truth?" she asked, the smile on her face disappearing as I shook my head.Bonnie let out a deep sigh. (Writer's POV)"Hi Alex, can we eat lunch together?" a young girl, eighteen years old, with honey-colored hair and cute glasses asked Alex, who was seated with his friends inside the classroom. Her smile was innocent, making her look adorable. Her name was Skye, and she was an English student."I'm sorry, Skye, but I have another class to attend," Alex replied, and the cute smile on her face disappeared immediately."Oh, I see," she muttered sadly. One of Alex's friends nudged him. There were three of them in total, and all four shared a room in the boys' dorm."What do you mean you have classes? Our classes ended a few minutes ago. We don't have any classes until tomorrow," Jeremy said, while the rest of his friends nodded in agreement.Alex felt like punching their faces one after the other because they had just ruined his plan. He had lied about having classes because he didn't want to be alone with Skye. He wasn't slow-witted; he knew she liked him. She had followed him around sin
