(Scott's POV)

"Mummy isn't breathing." Those words echoed endlessly in my ears as I drove at breakneck speed toward Allison's house. My heart pounded so loudly it felt as if it might burst out of my chest. Even with the car's air conditioning on full blast, my fear was so intense that I could feel the heat on my face.

Allison had been perfectly fine when we spoke last night—no signs of illness, no complaints of feeling unwell. So what in the world could have happened? I pressed harder on the gas pedal, silently wishing I could grow wings and fly to her this instant.

The memory of the last time Allison got sick flooded my mind; that was seven years ago, before our break up. She had been bedridden for two long, agonizing months, unable to speak or move much. It was the first time in my life I cried so miserably, thinking I might lose her. And now, with Liam's panicked call ringing in my ears, telling me she "isn't breathing," my eyes stung with unshed tears.

I love her.

(Allison's POV) "Mummy," Liam hugged me tightly when I woke up, his small hands clutching me in a way that made it clear he was scared. Earlier, I had gone to the kitchen to make cereal but felt dizzy and fainted. Ever since I allowed Scott to be part of Liam's life, I’ve been constantly scared—scared that my family might find out the truth. Even though I don’t say it out loud, it consumes me. I badly want to tell them, but I don’t know where to begin. They resent Scott so much and don’t want him involved in Liam’s life. But it’s just too unfair to keep dragging an innocent child into a conflict he doesn’t even know about.. "Mummy, are you okay?" Liam asked, touching my face with his little hands. I nodded with a smile. "Mummy is fine. I’m sorry if I scared you." "I was so scared, Mummy. But now that you’re smiling at me, I’m not scared anymore." I smiled, caressing his hair, but then stopped midway when I realized I was in my room. I vividly remembered fainting in the kitche

(Allison's POV) I quickly crouched beside Liam, caressing his face with a made-up smile. "Your Daddy is busy, Liam, and he can't spend the night here. He has lots of documents to handle, and that's why he needs to go home," I said to him, but Liam shook his head in disapproval. "Are you saying his work is more important than us?" he asked, wearing that sad face that always tempts me to give in to whatever he said. I won’t blame him anyway; he got that attitude from me. But allowing Scott to spend the night here was not something I could allow. "Daddy, is your work more important than Mummy and me?" Liam asked, still maintaining the sad look on his face. Scott looked at me before turning back to Liam, trying to figure out how to respond. "You love your work more than us?" Liam asked again, his voice heavy with sadness. Scott crouched beside him, and I could feel his skin brush against mine since we were both crouching. I subtly shifted away from him. "Of course not, Liam. D

(Allison's POV) "Allison, when you called last night, we were unable to answer because Alex and I were busy attending to the customers at the restaurant. Before we could get back to you, it was late, so Alex and I decided to come over this morning to see if you're alright," Aunt Hilda said. She was trying to explain why she and Alex were unable to pick up when Liam called last night, but that wasn’t my problem right now. Scott was still sleeping in Liam’s room. What if he came out, unaware of my family’s visit? They’d be shocked, and the secret I’ve kept hidden would be revealed before I muster the courage to tell them. They might also think I’m back together with Scott, which isn’t true. "Sis, are you alright?" my brother asked, noticing my nervousness. "Yes… I am… fine," I stammered, forcing out a smile. "You don’t look like yourself this morning, Allison. Normally, you’d have welcomed us with open arms, but you’re not doing that. It’s as if you don’t want us to enter your ho

(Allison's POV) "Alex!" I rushed toward him, quickly standing by the door to prevent him from entering Liam's room. "You should go back to your food, Alex. You said you have a class to go to," I said, forcing a smile. "That can wait, Sis. I need to check what fell down from Liam's room," Alex said. It was obvious he suspected I was hiding something, which is why he was so determined to enter Liam's room. "There's nothing there, Alex," I said, clinging to the door. But Alex pulled me aside and entered Liam's room, his eyes moving around as if searching for something or someone. My gaze darted to the wardrobe, but Scott wasn’t there. Where could he have hidden? Nevertheless, I used the opportunity to distract Alex. "I told you it was nothing. Why are you doubting me?" I asked. "Because you're not acting like yourself today, and it makes me suspicious," Alex responded, then quickly walked to the bathroom. He opened the door with full force, as if he was trying to find someone inside

(Scott's POV) As I crawled out of bed, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. At first, hiding from Allison's family wasn't something I wanted to do, but for Allison's sake, I decided to. Now, it felt kind of funny. Allison and I were like two teenage kids hiding our relationship from their parents. "What's so funny?" Allison asked, folding her arms across her chest. "Isn't it amusing how we're playing hide and seek with your family? We’re like two teenagers keeping our relationship a secret, and when we were almost caught, you made me hide to avoid being seen," I said, grinning. But Allison kept a straight face, which made me wonder if it wasn’t amusing to her. "You don't find it funny?" I asked, my grin slowly fading. "Give me one reason why I should find what you just said funny, Scott. My family completely trusts me, but I'm hiding a huge secret from them. They think we haven't seen or spoken to each other, but they don't know that we're on speaking terms and that I have given

(Scott's POV) "Is this some kind of joke?!" I demanded, glaring at my dad, who was seated comfortably on my couch, as if he owns not just my life but my house as well. "Jenna is right, Scott. We've already fixed a date for your wedding. You both just have to get yourselves prepared for it," my dad said, and Jenna smiled. "What gives you the right to arrange my marriage for me?!" I yelled at him. I was trying my best to control my anger because, even though I resent him so much, he is still my dad. "I'm your father, Scott. So I have every right to arrange your wedding with anyone that would be beneficial to us," he said. "Beneficial to us?" I scoffed before continuing. "Don't include me in that because I'm not part of your family." "Your last name is Stiles, so how are you not part of our family?" he asked, standing up, his face showing just how angry he was. Back then, I’d have apologized immediately, but not anymore—not when I am no longer the man he could push around and

(Allison's POV) Days later, I met up with Naomi Holt, and she was so excited about the dress I designed for her. "I love it, Allison. You did a great job. Scott wasn't kidding when he said you're the best at what you do. He had so much confidence in you, and you nailed it. Thank you so much, Allison. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the outcome of my birthday dress to be so beautiful," Naomi said. Her excitement was clearly detectable in her voice, and I was so happy she loved the dress. I dedicated my time into making the dress, not because I wanted to be appreciated for it, but for Scott as well. He recommended me to Naomi, and I didn't want to disappoint him because, according to Naomi, he bragged about me being the best designer ever. "I'm glad you like it, Naomi," I said with a smile. "I don't just like it. I love it! You are the best," she said, giving me a high thumb-up, and I was so proud of myself. "Thanks, Naomi." She nodded her head, dipped her hand into her han

(Allison's POV) "You look so beautiful, Mummy," Liam complimented my dress. "You think so?" I asked with a smile. "I don’t just think so, Mummy; I know so. You may not be a celebrity, but those celebrities can’t come close to your beauty," Liam praised me again. I crouched down to his height, playfully ruffling his hair. "You're so good with words! Where did you learn that?" I asked, and he grinned. "Because you're beautiful, Mummy. I'm just speaking the truth." "Thanks for the compliment, son," I smiled at him. "Come and have your dinner, Liam," Aunt Hilda said, emerging from the kitchen as she set the table for Liam's meal. Liam rushed to the dining room and sat down in one of the chairs while I walked towards Aunt Hilda. "Aunt Hilda," I called, and she lifted her head from the table to look at me. "You haven't left yet? I thought you would be at the party by now," she said. "I was just receiving some compliments from my son," I replied, and Aunt Hilda chuckled

(Allison's POV) I wished this was just my imagination. I wished it was merely a hallucination that my family had seen me hugging Scott, but it wasn’t imagination, nor was I hallucinating. “What’s going on here?” Aunt Hilda asked, trying hard not to believe what she had just witnessed. I quickly rushed to her. “Aunt Hilda, I can explain—” My words were cut short by a slap from her, while Alex rushed to Scott and, with fury in his eyes, punched him in the face. Liam, who had seen it all, quickly got down from the mini car he had been playing with. “Aunt Hilda, why did you slap my Mummy? Uncle Alex, why did you slap my Daddy?” Liam asked, unaware that he was only adding fuel to the fire. Aunt Hilda and Alex gave me a disappointing look after Liam called Scott his Daddy. My heart ached as they stared at me. “Aunt—” I began, tears streaming down my face, but Aunt Hilda cut me off. “I don’t want to hear anything, Allison!” she yelled. I could see the tears threatening to spill from

(Allison's POV) I stepped out of the car when I arrived at Scott's residence. The weekend was over, and it was time to take Liam back home. I could have asked Scott to bring him, but with Stefan still in California, I needed to be cautious—I don't know when he might show up at my doorstep. "Mummy!" Liam rushed into my arms as Scott opened the door for me. "How has my son been?" I asked, hugging him tightly. I had missed him so much that I kept praying for the weekend to be over, just so I could have him back home. "Mummy, I can't breathe," he struggled to say, and I quickly stopped hugging him, caressing his cheek as excitement surged through me. "I missed you so much, Liam," I said, playing with his cheeks. "I missed you too, Mummy. But Daddy took care of me. He brought lots of storybooks for me. He also built a huge castle with me, and we played lots of games together. I even ate my favorite chocolates and ice cream," Liam said, smiling with every word that left his mout

(Writer's POV) "Welcome back, ma," the maids greeted as Jenna entered the house, her arms laden with shopping bags. Being bratty as always, Jenna tossed the bags at them carelessly before flopping onto the couch, a smirk forming on her face. "What's with the smile?" Lydia asked, emerging from the kitchen. "There you are, Lydia," Jenna grinned, causing Lydia to furrow her brows in confusion. "Someone looks happy today. What happened?" Lydia asked as she took a seat beside Jenna on the couch. "My plan is finally falling into place," Jenna said excitedly. Lydia raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled. "What plan?" she asked. "Are you suffering from dementia? How can you forget so easily?" Jenna replied, slightly annoyed. "I'm sorry, I don’t remember any plan you told me about." Jenna shot Lydia an irritated glare before smiling again. "Since I'm in a good mood, I’ll tell you all about it." She paused before continuing, "I’m finally friends with Allison." "Allison? The same

(Allison's POV) "Are you sure letting Liam spend the weekend with Scott is a good idea?" Bonnie asked when I told her about Liam's decision the following day at work. "That's what Liam wanted. I couldn't say no to him," I muttered. I did everything I could last night to convince Liam to get down from Scott's car, but he refused, claiming he wanted to see what his daddy's house looked like. So, I gave in to his request. I couldn’t even sleep a wink all night; it was my first time being apart from Liam. "I know you love your son so much, but you don’t always have to agree to everything he says," Bonnie suggested. "I just can’t help it, Bonnie. You know how difficult it was for me to bring him into this world, right? Liam is my source of joy. He’s the reason I didn’t give up and kept striving even when things were tough. Besides, Scott is his dad—he just wants to spend time with him," I explained to Bonnie. "It would've been a different story if your family knew you allowed Scott

(Scott's POV) "Daddy, what's that?" Liam asked excitedly, pointing at the rollercoaster. I had him perched on my shoulders, his enthusiasm radiating through every word. "It's a rollercoaster," I replied with a small smile. "It looks like fun! Can I ride it?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "No, you can't," I said gently. "Why not?" "You're too young for that," I explained. "When you get older, Daddy will let you ride a rollercoaster." "Is that a promise?" His voice brimmed with excitement. When I nodded, he broke into a happy little dance, momentarily forgetting he was on my shoulders. For a five-year-old, he had no idea how heavy he was, but he’s my son—I’d endure it anyways. As for Allison, she hadn’t said much since we got here. She only agreed to come because she’s the kind of mom who’d do anything for her son. But the thought of Stefan being back in California kept gnawing at me. The way he tried to provoke me at the restaurant still lingered i

(Allison's POV) "What are you doing here? No, how did you get into my house?" I demanded, certain that I never gave him the password to my house. "I see you're back from your date," he said, like a husband who had been waiting for his wife to come home. "You haven't answered my question, Scott. How did you get in here?" I asked, walking up to him. "Did you break into my house?" "I am not a thief. Why would I break into your house?" Scott replied, clearly entertained as he continued eating from the bowl of cereal in his hand. "Then tell me how you got in!" I shouted, letting him know I was dead serious. He put the bowl of cereal on the table and stood up, his height towering over me. We were so close that I had to moved back a little. "Tell me how you got in." "Liam helped out," he answered. "Liam? He’s supposed to be in school. So what the heck are you saying?" I asked, anger bubbling within me. Of course, I had to be angry. What if Stefan had come in with me when I

(Allison's POV) Is he crazy? I thought to myself, staring at Scott, who looked deadly serious about what he had just said. Both Bonnie and Peter had surprised looks on their faces as they tried to process why he wanted to join our date. "Boss, I thought you said you had something to attend to?" Peter asked, while Bonnie’s eyes remained fixed on Scott. She had met him but still had no idea he was my ex—the same man she loathed so much. "I changed my mind. I’m going to have lunch with the four of you," he said. With every word that came out of his mouth, his gaze was locked on Stefan’s hand, which was still firmly placed on my waist. I could clearly see the jealousy in his eyes, but I didn’t care. He shouldn’t be part of this date. What if he spilled the truth about having access to being Liam’s father out of jealousy or anger? "I don’t think that will be possible, Scott," I said. At the mention of his name, Bonnie quickly looked at me, wondering if this was the same Scott I h

I don't know why he hates it so much when I call him 'kid brother,'" Bonnie frowned."Or maybe you should stop calling my brother a kid. He's already twenty years old," I teased."He's still a kid to me, Allison. You better tell your brother to get used to it because I am his big sis.""You are just so obsessed with calling Alex your kid brother because you're an only child.""You're right. Should I adopt him so he can accept me as his big sister?" Bonnie asked, and we both laughed at her words. But it's still strange to me why Alex doesn't want Bonnie as his big sister when we all act like a family."So, have you thought of a way to tell your family the truth?" she asked, the smile on her face disappearing as I shook my head.Bonnie let out a deep sigh. (Writer's POV)"Hi Alex, can we eat lunch together?" a young girl, eighteen years old, with honey-colored hair and cute glasses asked Alex, who was seated with his friends inside the classroom. Her smile was innocent, making her look adorable. Her name was Skye, and she was an English student."I'm sorry, Skye, but I have another class to attend," Alex replied, and the cute smile on her face disappeared immediately."Oh, I see," she muttered sadly. One of Alex's friends nudged him. There were three of them in total, and all four shared a room in the boys' dorm."What do you mean you have classes? Our classes ended a few minutes ago. We don't have any classes until tomorrow," Jeremy said, while the rest of his friends nodded in agreement.Alex felt like punching their faces one after the other because they had just ruined his plan. He had lied about having classes because he didn't want to be alone with Skye. He wasn't slow-witted; he knew she liked him. She had followed him around sin
