Sienna Chae-Soo walked into work that day an hour earlier as always to start her night shift. She worked as a waitress at the Baegaebong Hotel located in the Central Tourist Area, Samjiyon, North Korea.
“Chae-Soo! Come here, please.” The manager of the hotel and her boss yelled as he saw her walk in. Sienna headed in his direction and walked over the marble floor in the front of the hotel. The floor shined and reflected her appearance, which meant it was recently polished. She adjusted the simple grey pencil dress she had on and tried to hide the holes with her arms.
“Yes, sir?” Sienna softly asked and stepped into his office.
“Close the door behind you.” He firmly ordered, and Sienna obeyed. “Sit.” He stated as she closed the door and turned around to face him. “Tonight, a respected billionaire from South Africa will be eating in our restaurant. He arrived earlier today and has been in a conference since. I want you to serve his table.”
“Yes, sir.” She nodded while sitting on the soft chair in front of the manager’s desk. After all 3 years of working for him, she still didn’t know his name and referred to him as Mr Manager. She didn’t dare ask and kept mostly to herself while at work.
Sienna had just been to the public hospital where her brother, Hanuel, went to get medicine to treat his lung cancer. He was gravely ill and refused to eat or leave the bedroom. Afterwards, she took the public train to Samjiyon and walked about 1.2 kilometres to the hotel. Her family lived in poverty, and all depended on her low salary from the hotel. Therefore she walked most of the time and took the train if she had a few extra won to spare.
“He will be dining with a business partner from here in North Korea.” Her boss’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. “I expect the best of everything for this important guest, which is why I want you to serve him. Oh, and Chae-Soo, you smell of … filth. Take this key and go shower. I’ve laid out a clean uniform for you to wear in the room; I need you to look your best tonight.”
“Thank you, sir.” She politely smiled and took the key from him before walking out of his office and towards the room.
Mr Manager was a fair boss. He allowed her to shower before she started work; she just had to fetch the key from him every day beforehand. He even went out of his way to place aside nice smelling toiletries that guests left behind so that Sienna could feel like a confident woman. All of the guests loved her and tipped well when she was working, so the effort he put in made it worth it in the end.
Sienna found the room with ease and walked in. The hotel was one of the best in the ryanggang province and provided popular tourist accommodation. It was designed to please the eye with its modern look and creative artistic touch. It was the best place she had ever stepped foot inside and loved every second she was at work. She locked the door of the room and walked into the bathroom. Sienna stepped out of her old grey dress and switched on the shower. They didn’t have any electricity at home, which meant no hot water. Coming to work was like stepping into paradise.
She quickly scrubbed her body with a rose-scented body wash a guest left behind and washed her hair with a coconut-scented shampoo. Sienna was always self-conscious about using too much hot water and quickly finished up. She then dried her body with the towel the hotel provided and moisturised her skin with a similar rose body lotion.
Her uniform was a tight black skirt and white long-sleeved shirt with buttons and a collar. It was simple but elegant. To her surprise, Mr Manager also left her a pair of round-toe black heels, which were the perfect fit and super comfortable. She tugged on the skirt that hung just above her knees and wished it was longer. Sienna always felt that her legs looked too skinny for the skirt, which she believed was unpleasing. She looked in the mirror and sighed at her flat chest and ass. She could pull off looking like a young man if she had to cut her hair, but luckily she had long black hair that hung against her ass. It had beautiful waves that she loved and looked healthy.
She stopped staring at herself and walked out of the room to start her shift. Mr Manager gave her a slight nod to show he approved of her appearance, which made her feel a bit more confident about herself. Sienna started off by preparing the table for the special guest and lay out their best table cloth, cutlery and glasses. She even folded the serviettes into origami flowers which she thought were cute.
The other waitresses gave her small smiles as they walked past. They were unhappy that Sienna would serve the billionaire but also felt sympathetic as they knew she needed the money. Sienna started serving other tables as regular guests of the hotel arrived and noticed Mr Manager put a table reservation card on her table with the name Declan Foster under it. She started to gain butterflies as the night went on, and Mr Billionaire still hadn’t arrived. She tried to calm her nerves and scratched the inner skin of her arm.
She grabbed 2 menu’s as Mr Manager shook the hand of the man who had just walked in. The man was well built with a blonde curly preppy hairstyle and dark blue eyes. His attractiveness threw Sienna slightly off guard as Mr Manger led Declan over to his table. The billionaire wore a dark blue suit with an open-collar white shirt. Sienna noticed he didn’t have a tie on and walked over to the table like he owned the hotel. His arrogance showed instantly, but Sienna didn’t allow it to bother her.
Mr Manger allowed Declan to sit down and then gave her a look that said, “Don’t fuck this up”, as he walked away.
Sienna exhaled and walked over to the table with a smile. Declan didn’t look up from his phone as she approached, but his shoulders stiffened, and the hairs on his arms stood up. Sienna wondered if there was a cold breeze blowing through the restaurant.
“Good evening Mr Foster. My name is Sienna, and I will be serving you tonight.” She sweetly stated with a gorgeous smile and placed a menu in front of him. He growled like some sort of animal as she started speaking but ignored it. As she placed the other menu opposite him for when his business partner arrived, Declan grabbed her arm, which startled Sienna.
“Sorry.” He quickly said and let go of her arm as Sienna gasped. His voice was deep and husky. His grip was quite firm, and as he let go, she held her own arm to ease the slight pain. She could still feel his grip on her arm which made her uncomfortable. “I’m dining alone,” Declan added and looked towards her for the first time. He didn’t seem impressed with what he saw and slightly frowned. At the same time, a light flashed across his eyes which made them seem gold… but it quickly returned to its normal dark blue.
Sienna’s heart dropped, and she felt like apologising for not meeting his approval, but instead, she forced a smile onto her face and asked, “What would you like to drink?”
His eyes moved down her body, making Sienna feel even more uncomfortable. His cold blue eyes met hers again, and he replied, “Your most expensive bottle of red wine.” She nodded and took the extra menu off the table before walking away. Sienna felt her heart racing. She didn’t know if it was anger from how rude Declan was to her or because she felt attracted to him. Probably both.
Sienna walked over to the bar and asked the bartender for their top-shelf red wine before quickly slipping into the kitchen to run her arm underwater as if to wash his grip off her skin. The bartender handed her an ice bucket and corkscrew when she returned. Sienna thanked him then walked back to Declan Foster’s table. As she walked over to him, she watched him gently play with the origami flower in his hands and set it aside as she stopped by his table.
“Here you go, Mr Foster,” Sienna stated while placing the bucket on the table. Declan raised his eyebrow when she said his surname and smirked. He had never heard a waitress call him anything else besides ‘sir’ before, but this one seemed different. He watched as she shoved the corkscrew into the wine bottles lid and struggled to pull the cork out.
“Just let me do it.” Declan irritably snapped and jerked the bottle out of the waitresses hands. Sienna couldn’t stop shaking after he snapped at her. She held her hands together in front of her body and watched him easily pull out the cork. This rich bastard didn’t have to be so rude. Sienna was angry, and she held back tears as he poured himself a glass of wine. She hated that she cried when she was angry, which people mistook as her being weak. Wet anger is what her brother called it.
“Are you ready to order?” Sienna sternly asked. She luckily got her emotions together and remained professional in front of the guest. She would never let him see her cry that was certain.
“The rump steak, rare with sweet mashed potatoes. You can leave the broccoli off my plate.” He replied, and Sienna nodded, then walked away to place his order. She didn’t even bother to offer him their famous starters. She despised the man and wanted to get away from him as quickly as possible.
Sienna helped her other tables and noticed Declan staring daggers at her while she smiled at the guest’s compliments. She tried to stay away from him but made sure he still had wine to keep him happy. She checked if his food was ready every 5 minutes so that he could eat and leave as soon as possible. Eventually, the chef handed her his plate, and she perfectly placed it in front of him. He didn’t even look up or thank her but focused his attention on his phone. As Sienna walked away, she rolled her eyes and continued to serve the other tables.
Every time she glanced over at the billionaire to check if he was finished eating, she caught him staring at her. Her heart started racing, and he didn’t look away until Sienna broke eye contact. It went on like that for a while until he placed his fork on top of the knife on the plate, indicating he was finished. Sienna walked back to his table with a polite smile.
“Would you like anything else, Mr Foster?” She inquired and picked up his plate.
“Sleep with me.” He responded, and Sienna froze. Her gaze meant his, and she wondered if she heard him correctly. His emotionless blue eyes stared back at her, and he seemed to be serious.
“I’ll pay you. Whatever amount you want. Just spend the night in my bed.” The billionaire added.
“I’m working….” Sienna muttered and took a step back.
“I’ll wait till your shift is over.” Declan interrupted and waited for her response. Sienna broke eye contact with him and walked away without uttering another word.
Her brother filled her thoughts. The hospital refused to help him without a deposit which her family couldn’t afford. He only had a quarter of the medicine he needed and grew worse as the days went by. She needed the money to help her brother and considered taking his offer. Yet, on the other hand, Declan Foster was nothing more than a selfish, rude bastard. She cringed at the thought of his hands on her body. That man was a pig and used his money to take advantage of people. She wondered how she found him attracted yet also thought of him as vile. Was that even possible?
She closed her eyes and rested against the cold wall of the meat freezer in the kitchen. Hanuel needed the money. She could save her brother. Private health care was expensive in North Korea, and the public hospitals didn’t even have electricity or medicine to treat their patients. She took a deep breath and walked back over to Declan’s table. His eyes grew wide as he looked at her and seemed surprised to see her again.
“I’ll accept for 1000….” The waitress started to say as her heart pounded in her ears. 1000 won? That was all she wanted? “… dollars,” Sienna stated. She knew it was asking a lot, but she was going to make the billionaire pay.
Declan eye’s sparkled as she said dollars, which seemed to interest him. Without any hesitation, he nodded his head. “Alright, you have a deal.” He arrogantly smiled. Sienna’s eyes darted to his lips, then back to his eyes. It was that easy? He agreed to pay her about 1.2 million won just to have her spend the night in his bed. “When do you finish?” The billionaire asked and checked his watch. It was 9:38 pm. “When everyone leaves.” She simply responded without any emotion in her voice. Sienna then walked away with her heart racing. She couldn’t believe she was brave enough to ask for such a vast amount. Her heart wanted her to turn back and ask for less since she felt that sleeping with her would be far less worth that amount. Her mind won the fight and made her remember why she needed the money. Sienna had a low self-image that often made her feel guilty for no reason. She continued to serv
Sienna felt tears threaten to fall as she lay in his bed. The bedding smelt faintly of his cologne, and the memories of last night came back to her. She couldn’t believe she had lost her virginity to a random stranger. A rude, aggressive stranger, which made it worse. He probably slept with women all the time, and Sienna meant nothing to him. The sheets had been ripped during their passionate moment, even though he wasn’t even that rough. She felt disgusted with herself and screamed into a pillow, then forced herself up and got dressed. Since her shirt’s buttons had been ripped off, she collected them to sew back on once she got home. She then tied her long sleeve shirt into a crop top and noticed the billionaire had left his room key for her to drop off at the front desk of the hotel. He had cleared all his items out of the hotel except for a cufflink that she found under the bed when collecting her buttons. It had a werewolf engraved on it and looked like it
Sienna cried her heart out on Kim's shoulder. She was only 23 and already pregnant, but her age wasn't what scared her. Sienna could not afford to raise a baby, her family barely survived through the month, and their house was in no condition for an infant. She would have to stop working for a few months, which meant no income... and the billionaire's money wouldn't last forever. Sienna didn't want to bring the baby up in a life where she or he would struggle. Plus, she wasn't mentally prepared to be a mother and keeping the baby meant that she would raise it alone. She would have no help from the billionaire... heck, he wouldn't even know he was a father. All she knew was his name, and by now, he was probably back in South Africa. There was no way Sienna could get in touch with him, nor did she want to. "Okay... uhm, we marry you as soon as possible, so at least then you'll have a husband," Kim suggested.
2 days earlier Declan Foster walked into his newly established firm late that afternoon after a day of travelling. He was exhausted and irritable. He checked his personal phone for any messages from the private investigator he hired back in Samjiyon, North Korea. He, too, was a werewolf which made Declan sense that he could trust the investigator. Nothing yet, which was a good sign. He walked into his office and poured himself a glass of whiskey, which he quickly downed. His business phone started ringing, and he was straight back at work dealing with investors and companies from around the world. FosterA was a company aimed at providing reliable internet and communications to all people around the world. He focused on connecting poor areas to the rest of the world. The company had subdivisions such as education, legal services, and anything related to information technology infrastructure (IT). Declan was part of
“Mr Foster, here are all the documents of the waitress that you require.” The private investigator stated and handed him an envelope. They had travelled to the hotel where Sienna worked, and the billionaire waited in the restaurant for her arrival. The private investigator proved to be a valuable source of information and arranged for Miss Chae-Soo to leave the country with all legal documents. “Thank you, Aaron.” Declan nodded and read over the documents Sienna filled in for the abortion clinic. He was surprised to discover the waitress was only 23, 16 years younger than him. Declan was already 39, but most people assume he was in his late twenties because of how well he looked after himself. Her birthday was on 13 January 1995, which meant she was born on Friday the 13th. Declan didn’t believe in supernatural events such as that, but he hoped the waitress wouldn’t bring bad luck in his life. He had gone through enough misery
Sienna shoved the billionaire off her and quickly ducked into the bathroom. She closed the door and locked it before Declan could react, which forced him to return to his seat. Sienna felt her heart racing as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She wet her face with water and tried to understand why she kissed the enemy. “Get a hold of yourself.” She said aloud to herself and returned to her seat after using the toilet. Declan watched the waitress walk back down the aisle and sit down. He couldn’t understand why every part of him wanted to hate her when in reality, he found himself growing attached to her. He decided it was best that moments like the kiss they shared did not happen and fell back into silence. The private investigator tried to talk to either of them, but they weren’t interested. Eventually, the flat table mountain of his city and vast blue ocean came into view as they flew into Cape Town. Aa
Declan scanned his eyes over the waitress and found himself annoyed. He had work to do, and she complained because she was bored. He rolled his eyes and grabbed a file off his shelf, then handed it to her. “These are complaints that I received for the company. Kian printed them all out for me to go through, but honestly, I don’t care nor have the time. Read over them and see if there’s anything important or worth my time.” He said and returned to his desk to continue working on his employee’s salary. “Okay,” Sienna replied and placed her stuff on one of the chairs in front of his desk and sat on the other. Declan glanced at her and shook his head. He expected her to leave, but she could sit here if she was quiet. He went back to work, and Sienna started reading over the complaints. Many were about things he couldn’t control like staff complaints, slow internet during bad weather, being put on hold and issues not be
The three of them ate in silence and listened to music. It was awkward for Aaron to be in their presence when they were together, but both seemed friendly when alone with him. He finished up the delicious food and then excused himself. “Hello, this is Mr Wohoon. I am Mr Foster’s private investigator. I would…” He started to say into his phone as he walked off to his apartment. “So Declan finally found someone he could trust.” The man on the other side of the call chuckled. “Yes, Mr Hoffman. I was told you have a file for me. Will you email it to me, or must I collect it?” Aaron asked. “Please call me Ryan. You and I will be in contact often, I’m sure. I’ll email you my hotel’s address… actually scratch that. I’ll be hosting a masquerade party soon. We’ll meet then.” Ryan replied, then hung up the call. “I guess that means to collect it,” Aaron said to himself and shrugg
They chatted while in the kitchen, and she convinced him to nibble on the chips while they waited. Caleb had never met anyone else like Aideen before; she was bubbly and free with a lot of energy and had so much love to give him. They went to the lounge with the tea, toasted sandwiches and bowl of snacks. Aideen scanned through her movies and asked Caleb if he watched them as she went along. He didn’t have time to watch movies, so he didn’t know most of them. “Choose your favourite and put it on,” Caleb remarked, and Aideen decided to put on Suicide Squad. She was a big DC fan, while Caleb didn’t know which superheroes were DC or Marvel. Caleb hadn’t just sat back and watched a movie in a while; it was extremely relaxing and a good change. Plus, he could cuddle Aideen, and she was super happy, which was a big win. Caleb really enjoyed the movie while munching on chips and sweets. “Do you want to have a family?” Aid
Caleb woke up the next morning to an empty bed. He imagined that Aideen left in the early hours of the morning snuck out while he was asleep. His heart shattered, and he lay in bed disappointed. Last night was amazing. She was exactly the type of woman that Caleb wished he had, one like her that wouldn’t run away. Finally, after Caleb finished sulking, he forced himself out of bed and went to take a shower. The warm water ran over his skin and washed away the smell of Aideen. It was better to not think of her. Caleb knew that being with her was too good to be true. Why did he ever think she would want to be with him? Caleb would always leave when a call came in for a new case, his phone would constantly be ringing, time spent with Aideen would have to be scheduled, and after a hard case, he would come home irritable and seem like a jerk. Caleb would choose to work on a case rather than spend a romantic evening with her because he knows he has responsibilities. The consequences were
“Let’s go,” Caleb stated, his voice deep with arousal. Aideen felt herself being pulled towards apartment 37 and kissed Caleb’s shoulder as he opened the door. “Nice apartment.” She smiled and placed her purse on the kitchen counter as she quickly scanned her surroundings. “Sit.” Caleb beamed and picked her up to sit on the counter; he then undid the buckles of her heels and let them slip off her feet. “You have such tiny feet.” He laughed and held her one foot in his hand. Aideen had a sexy dark purple nail polish on, which matched her dress. “I’m a size 5.” She laughed and wrapped her legs around Caleb, who picked her up and carried her to his bedroom. Caleb carefully placed Aideen onto her feet and unzipped her dress which he then pulled off. Caleb was mesmerised by the gorgeous woman in matching black lace underwear. Her breasts were full of life and firmly held in
After a few minutes of their make-out session, Caleb pulled away and stated, “We better get that coffee, or we won’t be leaving this car.” Which made Aideen laugh. “Hey!” She exclaimed as Caleb walked towards the shop. “What?” He asked, confused and walked back to her. “Come here.” She smiled and stepped forward to place a kiss on his lips. “Oh, you.” Caleb beamed, and Aideen slipped her hand into his as they walked into the Fresh Stop at the Caltex garage. “What would you like, baby?” Caleb asked and hugged Aideen from behind as she read the menu. “Can I please get a hot chocolate? What would you like?” She inquired. “A vanilla freeze, please.” “You can go pay at the counter so long.” The man replied and handed Aideen the receipt. Caleb took it from her hands and walked forward
Aideen imagined how he would be in her bed and loved how close they were. She couldn’t stop thinking about this sexy Detective since they first met. She then turned around and moved her hips to grind against Caleb and felt how aroused she made him. “Come with me,” Caleb whispered in her ear and held her hand while he walked away. Aideen was led out of the bar and slowly pushed against a wall. The cool air contrasted with how he made her feel and could hear his heavy breathing. “You can’t do that,” Caleb stated and looked into Aideen’s eyes. “Why?” She innocently asked and bit her lower lip. Caleb closed his eyes and traced the side of her face. Aideen wanted him to kiss her; she wanted him to take her up against the wall and let him feel how wet she was. “You make me want you,” Caleb whispered before he placed his lips against hers. Aideen kissed him back and deepened the kiss. Everything aro
Aideen wore a sexy tight purple dress that rose up to her thighs as she walked, with her wavy hair hanging loose behind her and a pair of pure black heels. She looked gorgeous. Caleb noticed the men watched her as she walked away and was instantly to his feet. He tried to follow her through the crowd, but she slipped away, so he gave up and sadly returned to his friends. “Caleb, there you are! This is Joyce.” Kelly smiled and gestured to a pretty Indian woman. She had black hair and dark brown eyes. “My date,” Samuel added. “Nice to meet you, Joyce.” Caleb greeted and sat down. “So I’ve been told you are a detective. I was just telling Samuel how I would love to have you come speak to the children at the school I work for.” “I’m sure that won’t be a problem.” Caleb smiled. “My friend quickly went to the bar. She hates it when I drag her around, bu
Caleb chuckled and took the coffee from the Doctor. “Sorry, just part of the job.” Before sipping on the coffee, Caleb shrugged and said, “Thanks”. “Can I ask to hear your evaluation?” Doctor Waba questioned and sat down. “By your body language, you are proud of who you are. You are a family man and have OCD, which I assume is why you became a phycologist yourself. You are the type of person to enjoy art galleries and try to find peace through everything you do. Am I on the right track?” “Hmm, very good. I am impressed. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 8 years old, and back then, I thought the only one who understood me was my own phycologist. She helped me feel like I was normal, helped me understand my disorder and became my closest friend. I always looked up to her, and she inspired me to pursue this career and help others the way she helped me.” “That’s a sweet s
That Thursday morning, Caleb drove over to Rohana’s house and picked her up for the psych evaluation. He took her to the phycologist the precinct often worked with, Doctor Kagiso Ledwaba. Everyone that knew him just called him Doctor Waba. “I’m nervous,” Rohana confessed before they walked into the doctors building. The court had ruled that it was mandatory she goes for the evaluation, but luckily, she was willing to agree. “It’s okay, you haven’t done something like this before. It’s normal to feel nervous but don’t be scared. Doctor Waba is the best in Pretoria. He’ll take good care of you and is extremely kind.” Caleb replied to reassure her. He opened the door and let Rohana talk in. Doctor Waba stood waiting for them and offered Rohana a smile. “Hello, you must be Rohana Reed. Everyone calls me Doctor Waba, so please feel free to do the same.” He said friendly and shook her hand. “Would you like anything to dr
Aideen was strong and held her emotions together while she spoke. Caleb admired her for that and watched as her messy bun slowly unravelled and her gorgeous hair fell down to her shoulders. The light reflected against her hair which made it look sleek. The shine made her eyes appear even brighter, and he felt like everything around him disappeared as he stared into those electric blue orbs. For a second, everything froze as she gazed into his eyes, and he felt this immense connection shoot through him. Caleb quickly looked away from her and focused his attention on the case. He tried to distance himself by being professional and asked, “Where were you on Monday night?” Aideen almost seemed disappointed that the detective broke the moment they were experiencing. Her lips pressed together into a line, and her eyes seemed wider than usual. “Ryan had come over for dinner, and I only got him to leave around 1. That man
