Chapter 4

....Keith's....

After everything was decided, the only thing i had to do was go to my parents and tell them i was going out of the country to visit Sophie, since they adored her, i knew it wouldn't be a big deal.

"Are you sure, i mean you could leave Max with Betty" my young sister Risa suggested, l quickly shook my head

"No, Sophia wants to see him, besides i have never ever sent her any photo of him, its only fair that she meets him" I answered

"And you can't stay away from max for long" Lucy my youngest sister added making me smile

"Okay then if its settled, then when are you leaving?" My Dad asked, ever since i told them the news, Dad was against me going so far away, because of how l got pregnant with max, more like how i made them believe i got pregnant with max, my Dad was always worried about me.

"Tomorrow morning, the wedding is in three days time, l will only stay a week there" l said looking at the worried faces of my Dad and sisters

"I think i should get going now" l said standing up, my mom and elder sister Betty had gone out and where yet to arrive at the house, l was glad cause l wasn't ready to deal with the fuss they would make.

I quickly hugged and kissed my Dad while my sisters walked me to the door carrying Max

"Lucy go back inside l want to talk to Keith alone" Risa ordered in a serious tone

"Why do i have to go back, its not like i don't wanna talk to her myself" Lucy answered stubbornly

I knew they where going to break into an argument and intervened before that

"Lucy go sit inside the car with Max" l said

"But that's not fair" she said with a frown

"Just go, besides you are sleeping over at my place today"

Lucy beamed at that and immediately carried Max to the car making me turn to look at Risa

Though she was two years younger than me, we looked similar in all ways possible, many people even mistook us for twins.

"What is it now Risa?" I said,

"Its about you going to Saul's wedding, are you okay with that, like honestly okay" she asked with a concerned face

"I don't understand, why wouldn't l be okay going to his wedding?" I asked a bit confused

She was quite for sometime.

"Well l think Saul is Max's father" she finally said making me widen my eyes in shock

"I don't buy the story you have been telling everyone, l know you better than anyone, l can tell when you are lying you should know that by now" she added,

ever since l found out l was pregnant and began with the lie, l knew Risa didn't believe me but since she never asked me about it, l wasn't prepared to tell her anything, i had sworn this was a secret l was going to go to the grave with and l wasn't going to change that fact.

"What are you talking about Risa, you know what, l think l better get going before mom shows up" l said trying to change the topic

"I saw you that day,,, on grandma's funeral, l was worried about you so l came to check up on you, l found you and Saul having sex" she said, 

l was so shocked that l couldn't come up with a full sentence to defend myself, l never thought somebody had seen me that day and to think she didn't tell me about it all this while

"I, you, how could you not have told me you saw me all this while?" I starmmed a bit furious

"I was hoping you would tell me yourself about who Max's father really is then l would have just said l knew it and we would laugh it off like we always do.

Except Sophia, am more like your best friend,

l was upset that you kept the fact that you where pregnant from me for soo long, l always thought l was your favourite person and you would tell me anything but l guess l was wrong,

that day when l walked on you heavily pregnant in that store, l was broken, l couldn't believe you would hide that from me knowing fully well l would have your back keith,,,

and now you are going to Saul's wedding, are you okay with him not ever knowing he has a son or the fact that Max will grow up thinking his father is a man who raped you?" By the time she was done talking, my eyes where already watering

I had always wanted to tell her but l was scared, l didn't want her to think l throw myself at Saul and got pregnant by him just to trap him or something, plus l felt shameless, l was in a relationship which all my family knew about but l cheated, something l had never thought l would be brave enough to do.

"Am sorry" l whispered in a low voice as tears fell down my cheeks

Risa pulled me in for a hug

"Don't be sorry dear sister, think about Max, he deserves to have a father and know who he is, l would be totally mad at you if l grow up and knew my father was a billionaire that you didn't tell me about" she whispered back

"But l don't think its the right time for that, Saul is getting married and l wouldn't want to ruin it for him" l said honestly 

"You could always do that after the wedding" she suggested as she pulled away from me

"I suppose so" l said with a small smile

"Lets go l help you packing before mom turns up" she said excitedly as we headed for my car.

That evening, i spent time having fun with my sisters, after Max slept off we played some cards and had a few truth or dare games which were a lot fun,

My mom had called of course but i assured her l was only going away for a week and nothing more.

She told me to be careful and call her when l get there.

"Did you pick out a dress for the wedding already?" Lucy asked me something that i hadnt thought about

"Yes keith do you have a dress for the wedding or you going to show up in jeans?" Risa asked sarcastically

"I didn't think of that" l answered honestly

"Then we have to go look for dress tomorrow morning, what time is your flight?" Lucy asked

"I have to be at the airport at ten" l answered

"Then we will go and look for your dress before then" Risa said while l only nodded,

The madisons where billionaires, l wouldn't want to look horrible at a high class wedding and though i had made it look like l was going to tell Saul about Max, that was the last thing on my mind, l would never do that and I felt horrible I was lying to Risa again.
