As Lana and Liam settled into his office, they exchanged a few casual remarks to catch up with each other's lives. Despite their history as ex-boyfriend and girlfriend, a relationship that didn't end on the best of terms, their conversation now felt remarkably like that of two close friends reconnecting.

"So, how is work?" Lana asked, her eyes fixed on Liam as he organized some documents on his desk.

"It can get exhausting sometimes," Liam replied nonchalantly, taking his eyes off the documents and meeting her gaze, "The usual challenges, you know. But overall, not too bad. And what about you?"

Lana leaned back in her chair, letting out a small sigh. "Oh, you know how it is. Busy as ever, but I love it, so I can't complain."

"Nice," Liam nodded approvingly.

"Oh, and I wanted to invite you. My brother's birthday is coming up, it would be nice if you could come." Lana said.

"You mean, your brother Scott?" Liam asked, remembering his past encounters with Scott, which had been less than
