She came out of the room and picked up her car keys. She recalled how Jake had risked his life so many times for her and told herself, "No, it's not possible for Jake to betray me. No matter what anyone says, I can never doubt him. Dass must be highly mistaken. Jake has just returned from the hospital and I have chosen today to celebrate his birthday. It's better to let him rest."

She stared at the two bodyguards outside through the window and shook her head, "Dass must be highly mistaken. Those who were deliberately handpicked by my brother, Reign, so I cannot doubt them either."

She went outside and said to the guards, "I need to get to Lions Bar right away. I can only go with one of you. Someone needs to watch over Jake because he hasn't recovered fully. If he asks after me, tell him I got a call from Dass and I'm going to meet him. I'm not telling him right now because I want him to rest.
