Two weeks have passed and sure enough, Domenic has kept insisting on talking to me. He didn't come in person every time but the flowers have kept coming in every day.
"Dinner?" was the only thing written on the card today. The card I threw away and the flowers I gave to Ms, Robin, it would be a shame to throw them into the trash."Do you wanna do something tonight? See a movie or something?" I asked Summer."Ohh I can't tonight. I have a date?" She said happily."With whom?" I asked as I put down a cup and threw a rag on the counter."A guy I meet online.""Why are you meeting people online? You are Summer Davis Jones for God's sake, men are literally chasing you." I say in disbelief."That is because they are after the Davis Jones part, not the Summer part." I can't relate to that problem but I can understand."And this guy isn't?""Well, he is meeting Summer Danes, so…”Ohh I almost forgot about the last name trick she uses."Right, that word game you play with your last name. I have to say very clever on your part." I say as a big group of people come into the cafe."If business keeps up like this soon I'll have to expand," I say as Summer smiles suspiciously."What did you do?" I ask her."I may have tweeted and shared on my I***a that this is the it place to be, and I may have said that Sophie Chapelle will be signing her new book here." What?"Summer but that is a lie, I don't know Sophie Chapelle." I say as more people come in."But I do, and she agreed to do this as a little favor for me. She will be here at five. I told Jess to reserve the sofa for her." Oh my God."I can't believe you did that. Thank you so much Summer, it means the world to me.""Hey don't mention it, friends should support friends. You would do the same for me." I don't have the resources or the connections she has but yes I would do the same."Well if you ever need me to do something for you just say the word." To that, she looked at me with a soft look on her face."I would love it if you and my brother could coexist in the same place so that I could have two people I love always by my side." I think my face said it all."Ok I'm off now, you will tell me all about it, and don't forget to take pictures." She said as she hopped off the chair and left. Man, you got to love her.Sure enough by five pm, this place was so full a toothpick wouldn't even fit it. Summer even sent cases of vine to the cafe, and personnel with glasses and everything. I mean fucking Sophie Chapelle was here, at my cafe. Signing her new book. I devoured her every book, they were my therapy. The fact that Summer wasn't here was a shame.By eight pm the cafe still very much resembled a club, I had an urgent need to restock everything. It was crazy. I managed to get my signed copy of the book and when I went to take a picture of it with my phone I had a call from Summer.I went outside so I would be able to hear her from all the noise outside. As soon as I answered I heard her panicked voice."Autumn." Something was off."Summer are you ok?" I asked frantically"Something is not right with this guy Autumn. We met at the restaurant and everything was fine then he asked me if I wanted to go see this new art exhibit and I said yes. But this place is strange Autumn, I just left at the back door... Aaaaaahh!!!"My blood froze as I heard Summer scream."Summer! Summer can you hear me? Summer." The call ended I was left standing. What do I do?Before I even realized my legs led me to a street corner where I fetched a taxi. If there was someone who had resources and people in the right places to find Summer, it was Domenic.I had to go to his office, Summer said once he had a habit of working late so this is where he should be.I got to his building at the same time he was coming out with a man walking behind him. He looked so surprised to see me running towards him."Autumn." Domenic said with a smile on his face. He really needs to read people's facial expressions better."Domenic, Summer... Something happened to Summer." I managed to say as I caught my breath."What are you talking about Autumn? Where is Summer?" He instantly went into panic mode."She had a date tonight but she called me saying something was off about the guy and that she was leaving but then I heard her scream and the call ended. You have to find her Domenic." I tried to explain the best I could."Call the head of security, I want them to locate Summer now!"Domenic said to the man behind him."Can I have your phone miss, it was the last one to have contact with." The man said to me."Of course, take it. Just find her." He took the phone out of my hand and they walked back into the building and I followed them. We walked into a big room filled with computers and devices where they connected my phone to their software.Domenic was understandably upset, his body was shaking while his eyes traveled from one monitor to another. I felt an urge to touch him, to comfort him but no. I can't. I have to resist, this isn't about him. It's about Summer."What is happening, did you find her?" They looked at the screen until a red dot appeared on the map."We have her." The man yelled and they ran outside where a group of armed men were waiting."You take her home." Domenic said to one of his men."I'm coming with you, I'm not going anywhere until I see Summer." I say as I push past him and enter his car. Without wasting any more time Domenic entered the car and we started driving. We got to an old-looking building, just the look of it gave my mine skin goosebumps. Domenic got out of the car and turned to me."You stay here." He said."Don't be ridiculous." I said as I got out. "Second floor, third door on the left." Said Dominic's security guy and the rest of them, including Domenic and me started running up the stairs. All of a sudden I realized we were going into the place not knowing what was waiting for us in there. "Domenic stop, I know the time is of the essence but we should call the police first. You can't just barge in there, you can get hurt." I said as I unintentionally grabbed his hand."Summer could get hurt." I added."We already called the police Autumn, I'm just not waiting for them." Just as we were about to go in we heard Summer scream and Domenic's man kicked down the door. What I saw next made my blood freeze. Summer was on the ground, blood coming from her stomach as she tried to put pressure on it with her hands. Domenic's man jumped on
Early in the morning, I got up to check on the cafe, which was in perfect order. I don't know how Jess did it but she performed a miracle. I got Domenic's shirt out of the dryer and put it into a paper bag before going to the hospital. I got there just as a nurse was leaving Summer's room. "Good morning, how is she? Did she wake up?" I asked quickly. "She is doing great, she should wake up any moment now." The nurse told me. "Is it ok if I wait inside? I won't disturb her." "Of course, Mr. Davis gave instructions to let you in when you came." He did? "Is he here?" I asked as I looked through the window into Summer's room. "He just stepped out for a coffee. He stayed the whole night." He did. Of course he did. I thanked the nurse and went into the room. When I sat by her bed it occurred to me that I could have bought some flowers. Summer looked pale, her hair a bit tangled. I took her hand in mine and noticed her nails were broken, she must have fought with her assailant. Sudden
I saw him get into the elevator and I jumped in as the doors were about to close. I even surprised him. "Autumn, what are...""What the hell was that?" I interrupted him."What?" He said as he put his arm on the elevator wall next to my head. He was so close his smell surrounded me hazing my mind, but I had to push through it so I walked past him to the opposite wall."I thought we had an agreement, Domenic, we talked about this. We are not friends, one thing is us having to share the same space for Summer, and something completely different is the crap you just pulled off in there." Domenic licked his lips as he walked over to the control board and stopped the elevator."What are you doing?" I asked him as he began to walk towards me, caging me up against the wall with his hands."First of all, I don't remember agreeing to anything you said yesterday, as you recall I didn't say a word. But there is one thing you got right. We are not friends." Domenic said as he drew his body closer
Two weeks later I was standing in the one place I never imagined myself, Domenic's kitchen, trying to save the last piece of toast he just burned."I told you I would do it." I say to him as I try to fish out the toast from the toaster. Iv been coming to his penthouse to help him take care of Summer because she refused to get a nurse, and once I offered it's not like I could take it back. "It's a toast. How complicated could it be?" Said Domenic to which I just waved the burned toast in his face."Does anyone care that I don't even want the toast?" Summer yelled from the living room couch."Fine, I'll make you a smoothie bowl." I yelled back as I moved to the refrigerator and Domenic went to clean the counter. "You don't need to do it, I'll clean it later." I say as I put the fruit on the cutting board. He tossed the bread crumbs aside as he walked over to me from behind pinning my stomach onto the kitchen island as he prests himself against my ass."Since the first time you entered
I didn't come out until I heard the door close. With Summer asleep I decided to cook us dinner. From what Summer had told me, Domenic doesn't have a cook here or a maid. He takes care of everything by himself. This is probably why the fridge was empty, the drawer filled with take-out menus. Ohh yeah and the burned toast. With no other choice, I ordered some groceries and made the dinner by the time Summer woke up. I helped her to the living room. "Eating tomato soup on this white couch doesn't seem like a good idea Summer." I say as I give her the plater. "I just feel comfortable here, how about we put on a movie or something?" "Sure, just don't spill it because I'll be sleeping on it tonight." I say as I get the TV remote. "What movie?" I asked as I sat down next to her. "Whatever, just not horror." Noted. We settled down on a romance movie and ate our dinner, when I was finished I got up to take the plates. "You didn't eat much soup, you didn't like it.?" I asked as I saw he
Domenic got on his feet and went to turn off the alarm on my phone while I struggled to put on the bathrobe. "What are you doing here?" I say as I get up, fixing the robe down my legs. "Last I checked this was my room." He said as he fixed the waistband on his boxers. "You know what I mean, you are supposed to be on a trip. And besides how dare you lay in the same bed as me, not to mention kiss me." I wiped my mouth with my hand trying to shake the feeling of him on me. "I only did what you begged me to do." I did, my God he actually made me beg for him. "I thought it wasn't real, ok? I thought I was dreaming." I said as I went to grab my phone from his hands. But instead of taking it Domenic grabbed my hands and pulled me towards him locking me in place with his hands around my waist. "You often dream of me? He asked, but not in a mocking way, but rather in a gentle serious way. "Let go of me." I say as I struggle against him. "First answer me. Am I the man of your dreams?" He
The hot, dark and handsome man was replaced with a furious-looking Domenic Davis Jones. He came by my side, took my hand and then proceeded to drag me across the club, up the stairs until we came behind closed doors leaving the noise behind us. He almost banged my back against the door when he swung me to cage me with his hands. His fist met the wall next to my head as he growled "Mine.". I wasn't drunk, tipsy at most but I clearly saw how his eyes darkened with desire. "Don't you ever again let another man touch you Autumn, I swear you don't know what I'm capable of when someone touches what's mine." The air in my lungs caught fire. I had to take a few seconds to gather my thoughts, not wanting to do something stupid in an impulse. "Domenic I don't want to have this conversation again. I'm not yours." I say as I push on his chest trying to make some space between us. "Cut the bulls*it, Autumn, you are mine as much as I am yours." Domenic said fiuresly. "Well, that settles it be
Summer was waiting with my jacket and bag while Domenic walked behind me. She handed them to me and then we walked outside where two cars were waiting for us. "Summer the driver will drive you home, and please go to sleep. I'll drive Autumn home." Domenic barked his orders. "I already told you, you do not have to drive me." I say as I try to move next to Summer but he stops me once again. "There is no point in resisting Autumn, when this control freak sets his mind on something there is no power on earth that can change it." Summer admitted defeat as she hugged me and entered the car. Domenic took my hand and led me to the passenger seat. "I can walk on my own." I say as he opens the passenger door. "Get in." He ordered me as he used his body as a way of stopping me from leaving. God, he was controlling but hell was it attractive. I got into the car and he went so far as trying to put my seatbelt on. "Stop that, I can manage it myself." I tried to take it from his hands but the
