"Do you know me?" May asked with a confused expression, her voice bringing Mike out of his reverie.
"I'm sorry, what?" Mike replied, trying so hard to maintain his composure.
"You just called my name, so I'm asking if you know me." May replied softly.
"Y...Your name's May?" Mike asked, unable to believe his ears.
"Yes, so do you know me? Because I've never seen you in my life, so I don't know how you know me."
"I...I just..." Mike trailed, he doesn't even know where to start from. What kind of trick is fate playing on him? How can she not only look like May, but also have her name?
May also couldn't tell, but there's something about the man standing in front of her that she just couldn't wrap her head around it.
Mike could only stare at her, and she also couldn't resist staring back at him like all the answers would just come to her if she continues looking at him.
Meanwhile, Anthony wasn't having any of it. "You said you came to return the necklace to the owner, so give it back to her and be on your way." He said rudely, breaking through whatever trance they were in.
"I...I'm sorry." Mike shook his head to clear his thoughts. "You dropped this when you bumped into me." He handed the necklace to May, and she collected it.
"Thank you."
"May I..." Before Mike could even finish his sentence, Anthony pulled May inside and slammed the door to his face.
"Anthony! What was that for?" May questioned.
"That was me saving you, May." Anthony replied. "Do you even know that man or have any idea how he knew your name?"
"No, but I could have asked him if you hadn't pulled me in." May replied calmly.
"There's no need because you won't be seeing him again. You need to be careful May, don't trust strangers like that. I'm not ready to risk your identity being discovered.''
May couldn't argue with him because she knew he was right. "You're right, I need to be careful. It was wrong for me to even want to talk to him, but I'm glad I got my necklace back." She said before taking a sit.
"And I'm sorry if I was being rude earlier, I'm just looking out for you." Anthony apologized.
"You don't have to apologize for anything, and I know you're only looking out for me." May smiled. "I'm going to try hard to start a new life here, and I'll try my best to not constantly live in fear, and to also not make you worry about me so much.''
"I'll always be here for you, May." Anthony reassured. "I'll go get you that meal." He said before leaving.
After Anthony left, May relaxed into the chair. She tried not to think about Mike, but he keeps popping in her head, most especially the way he looks at her.
"What is it about this guy?"
Meanwhile, despite the fact that it had began to rain, Mike decides to walk for a bit before stopping a cab to go home, he just wanted to clear his head a bit. He's heard of people have a doppelganger, but this is just too much for him to bear. Is it just a mere coincidence that she not only look like his May, but also bear her name, and he also couldn't believe that he didn't leave Seattle because of this lady.
"What the hell were you thinking Mike!? What the hell were you thinking!?" He yelled in frustration.
The thoughts running through his mind were too much, and he couldn't resist screaming so loud to help relieve some of his emotions, and luckily it helped.
He wanted to leave Seattle to help lessen the pain of loosing his beloved, he didn't think he would run into someone who looks exactly like her and also bears her name, now he can't leave, not until he finds out everything about the new May, and see if she's somehow related to his May.
The only person Mike could think of seeking help from at this moment was Adams. Adams needs to know everything, and he's pretty sure he also would find it hard to believe as well.
Mike hailed a cab and jumped in, giving the driver the address of Adams mansion as he settled into the backseat.

Alicia and Adams snuggled up together on the plush couch in the living room. A bottle of rich, red wine and two half-filled glasses sat on the coffee table in front of them, bathed in the warm glow of the chandelier above.
"Do you think he'll be okay?" Alicia asked Adams. It just seems impossible for her to stop worrying about Mike.
"I'm sure he'll be fine, it might take a while, but he will be." Adams reassured her. "We'll call him every single day, and also go spend some time with him when we're less busy."
"Really?" She looked at him with a bright smile on her lips.
"Of course. Mike is more like a brother to me, and I'm seriously concerned about this well being. May's demise hit him the most."
"I still find it hard to believe she's gone, I just..." Alicia trailed. Tears already welled up in her eyes, and it's only a matter of seconds before they fall.
"It's okay, it's going to be okay." Adams hugged her tighter.
"She really shouldn't have died, Adams. It wasn't fair that she had to leave us like that, and I find myself missing her even more with each passing day. I had thought Diane would grow up having her by her side, but it seems life had other plans for us." She said softly, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Why does it have to be her?'' She paused briefly as she was being overwhelmed by her emotions. ''Why?"
"It's alright, we're all going to be okay, and Diane was lucky to have had May in her life, even if it was for a short time.'' He lovingly kissed her forehead.
Alicia sobbed quietly, and Adams held her close, trying to comfort her. They remained entwined, seeking solace in each other's embrace, when the doorbell rang repeatedly, shattering the peaceful moment.
"Who could that be?" Alicia asked as they both sat up straight.
"I'll go see who it is." Adams got down from the couch and walked to the door, when he opened it, his eyes widened with shock.
"Mike?"
Mike was drenched by the rain, and Adams couldn't believe that it was him standing in front of him."Mike, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be on the flight to London?" Adams questioned in surprise."Let me in first before the interrogation begins." Mike replied. "Right, I'm sorry." Adams stepped aside to let him in.When Alicia saw him, she also couldn't believe her eyes. "Mike! It really is you!" She hurriedly stood up and ran to hug him, not minding the fact that he was soaking wet. "Oh my God, I can't believe it's really you.""Let him go Alicia, he's wet." Adams pulled her away from him."H...how are you here? I really can't believe this." Alicia asked, smiling brightly."It's a long story." Mike heaved a deep breath. "I'm pretty sure we'll get to that, but first come get changed because I don't want you catching a cold." Adams said, then he walked upstairs while Mike trailed behind him."I'll be here waiting." Alicia yelled before returning to her seat.Adams took Mike t
The man's face turned beet red with rage as he thundered, "Where is she!? Where could she have gone to!?" His eyes bulged, and the veins on his neck pulsed menacingly. He snatched a nearby wooden object and hurled it at the bodyguard standing before him. The object crashed into the guard's forehead, sending him stumbling backward as blood gushed from the gash. The guard's face contorted in pain, but he dared not show any expression, fearing his boss's wrath. "W-we'll find her, Sir," he stammered, his entire body trembling like a leaf in a hurricane. "I-I promise we'll find her."The man's expression twisted into a malevolent sneer. "You'd better find her," he spat, his voice dripping with malice. "Otherwise, I promise to make you suffer a fate worse than death. You'll watch as I destroy everything you hold dear. Your family will beg for mercy, but it will be too late. You'll be the one who'll be left to pick up the pieces of your shattered life."The guard's eyes widened in terror as
"What are you... What are you doing here?" May asked, confusedly.Mike didn't want to beat around the bush so he just went straight to the point. "I needed to talk to you, that's why I came here.""Talk to me? You barely even know me, and I do not entertain strangers, so please leave." May wanted to close the door, but Mike blocked it with his leg, preventing her from closing it."What do you think you're doing?" She asked in annoyance. "Please, just let me talk to you for a second, and I promise I'll be on my way." Mike pleaded, but May wasn't having any of it. He already seems like a creepy person to her, and that's the kind of person she would never want to entertain in her life, only God knows what would happen to her if she doesn't chase him away now, and to make matters worse, Anthony isn't home."I already said I don't want to talk to you, so please leave me alone." She tried forcing the door shut, but Mike still wouldn't let her, and her strength was in no way compared to his
May sat in the living room, watching a movie, but her mind wasn't even focused on the movie because she couldn't stop thinking about Mike. Although she already told herself not to bother about him, and that there's also a huge chance that she might never get to see him again, but that's not even helping as she still find it difficult to get him out of her head."Focus, May. Focus!" She tapped her cheek, then she tried to focus on the movie she was watching. She suddenly heard the door being opened and soon Anthony walked in. May immediately stood up to welcome him."Hey, you're back." She said with a smile. "How was work?" "It was okay." Anthony replied, equally smiling. He's so stressed out from work, but seeing May was more than enough to make his stress go away. "I hope you weren't too bored being alone."May shook her head. "Not really. In fact I..." She trailed off when she remembered that Anthony had warned her to stay away from Mike. Only God knows what he'll do if she dares t

He felt a rush of uncertainty, unsure of how to proceed. Should he approach them, or slip away unnoticed? "He just annoys me so damn much, Adams." Mike complained bitterly. "I had to fight the urge to punch him right there."Adams looked at his friend and shook his head. "You seem to have too much time on your hands, Mike. You've recently taken over your parents company, and you should be working, not drinking at a bar and sleeping there, also fighting because of a woman, remember she's not May." Adams stated calmly."And who said I wasn't working? I'm really trying my best Adams, but it hasn't been easy, it's way different from when I was working with you. And I wasn't fighting anyone because of a woman." Mike defended."You only worked with me so as to gain experience and prepare yourself for this moment. It's not going to be easy, but I'm sure you've got this, and I'm always here to help you if you need anything." "Yeah, I know that." Mike replied, giving Adams a small thankful smile."So, with that said, I think you should focus on the company and leave that woman and her boyfriend a
Mike's car pulled up in front of Anthony's apartment, and Mike didn't waste any time in getting out of the car. Mike hastily came out as well.May was about going in, but Mike rushed to block her path. "I literally just saved your life but you won't even tell me goodnight before leaving." He shook his head in disappointment.May rolled her eyes hard at his words. "I already thanked you for saving me, now I have to tell you goodnight as well?""Yes." Mike replied.May scoffed. "That's too bad. I don't want you to have a goodnight, not when you're hell bent on ruining my friendship with Anthony!" She fumed."Oh, come on. Don't tell me you're still mad about that. I was only doing you a favor." Mike defended."I don't need your favor, Mike. I don't need anything from you, so please stop doing things that's only going to annoy me okay?
