Beginning

Paging Dr. Verde…Paging Dr. Verde…

“Chim, code 01”. I said while my phone is still on my ears clipping it with my shoulder. We’ve been talking for a minute now about the shoot that he wants me to be his model. Chimuel is my best-friend, he is a fashion designer and he often get me to models his newly designed clothes. As a doctor I am also surprise that I still get a time for him but he is my friend and I can’t say no to him and I also enjoyed being a model.

“Go ahead!”. He said, after I bid my goodbye, I immediately put my white coat which I hung earlier while I’m having a short tea break.

When I arrived at the clinic Mrs. Delima was being assists by one of the nurses on duty.

“Good morning! Dr. Verde hi!”. Bati ni Mrs. Delima na ilang lingo ng pabalik-balik dito sa hospital para sa kanyang check-ups.

“How are you, Ma’am?”. Bati ko dito habang binabasa ang files nito.

“Ito Mabuti naman… medyo magaan ang pakiramdam ko simula ng palitan mo ang maintenance medicine ko and the vitamins, it’s really boasted my immune system… I think, because I rarely felt dizzy.” Masayang saad nito. Gumaan naman ang pakiramdam ko, hearing this from my patient made me genuinely happy. 

“That’s a good sign Madame, but you still need your weekly check-ups”.

“Ah! Yes of course. I won’t miss it”.

I have few patients today because its Friday and they often come here by Tuesday and Thursday.

“Dr. Verde, may dumagdag nanaman pong patient niyo”. Ani Lala, isa sa mga laging nag a-assists sa mga pasyente ko at iniabot ang clip board.

“Mrs. Anastasia Ricaford?”.

“Yes po doc. She’s the grandmother of Mr. Elijah Ricaford from The Ford Technologies and group of companies, I already attached her last medical result so you can read it”. Sagot nito.

“But why?”. I can’t help but to ask. Ricaford has a family doctor.

“Someone recommended you daw po”. Sagot naman nito na para bang hindi din sigurado sa sasabihin.

“Still…Diba what would Dr. Galves reaction to this if he will find out?” I said because Dr. Galves is their family friend as well as their family doctor.

“Doc, I guess Dr. Galves is the one who recommended you to the Ricaford. Kasi di po ba magbabakasyon po si Dr. Galves sa US kasi ikakasal ang anak niya.”

“Oh! That explained it. I better give him a call or pay him a visit”.

“Mas maganda po puntahan niyo nalang po siya, para din makausap niyo po siya ng personal”. Nakangiting sagot nito.

“Tama ka… by the way, anong gulo pala kanina sa labas? Nag kukumpulan ang mga nurse sa station A. May aksidente bang nangyari?”. Takang tanong ko dito habang inaayus ang mga patients file sa cabinet.

“Ah!”. She said and giggle. Napaka kunot nuo ko itong tiningnan.

“Kasi doc, pumunta kanina si sir Elijah, may business meeting ang higher ups and he also visited Dr. Humble”. Tila kinikilig parin nitong saad.

“Dr. Humble? Why? He has a problem or something?”. Tanong ko pa rin.

Dr. Shan Humble is a neurologist with in-depth training in nervous systems disorders.

“May Chronic insomnia daw po si Mr. Ricaford kaya madalas may schedule siya kay Dr. Humble o si doc na mismo ang nag pupunta sa kanya. I’m not totally sure doc ahh… alam mo naman nasasagap ko lang yan sa locker room, confidential, tsaka usap-usapan din na girlfriend o nililigawan siya ni sir Elijah, pero di po ba iba-iba naman ang ka date niya every occations?”. Saad nito.

I chuckle while pressing my temple.

“Ahh…I don’t know”.

Napailing nalang ako. When it comes to latest information about the things happening inside the hospital you can tap a nurse but we also doctors had this side. Exchanging information when we faced a difficult situation about our patients. Not the confidential one specially for the VVIP patient like politicians and business man like Mr. Ricaford.

“He is a business tycoon, a busy person and a developer. Baka nga di na natutulog yan sa dami ng ideang pumapasok sa utak niya.”

“Sabagay, tama po kayo doc”. Pag sang-ayun naman nito.

But as a doctor it is really a serious matter when it comes to insomnia. Some are curable, some are not even high dosage of sleeping pills can’t help them, although cognitive therapy and relaxation therapy may help.

I already met Elijah Kenzo Ricaford numerous times, who wouldn’t know him? And I think I have a little crush on him. Sino ba namang hihindi? Like I said he’s a famous business tycoon and CEO of top leading company. He is always in the business magazine and media is interested in him. Aside from that he is Yuhan’s close friend and Yuhan is Chimuel’s fiancé which is my best-friend. We are introduced with each other last year in Chims store opening and every party that I attended with the couple his also there with us. We have a very short interaction, just a simple nod but it remained different to me. Yes, Chims and I are cut in the same clothes that is why were best buddy.

Elijah is a very attractive man. He has a very intimidating charisma and athletic build body. A playboy one according to what I read and heard but Chims seems to know him that he often says he’s a great man. I don’t know. He’s attractive though.

Same sex relationship is now accepted in the society, although it is still drawn attention specially when the couple came from high socialites like Yuhan and Chimuel. Yuhan Tan is the son of the owner of this hospital and Chimuel is a famous fashion designer. They met each other in Sydney when Chims launch bag designs in US. The business world was in a great shock when they publicity announce that they are in a relationship and now engaged. Like how Namo Gonzales and Jano Francis announced their wedding last year that totally surprised the world because Jano is a famous international model and Namo Gonzales is the owner of Gonzales Shipping lines. Who would know that they are going to be a great couple which is now a family after they decided to have a child by means of surrogacy.

They didn’t keep this in private because they want to have an open relationship. Some may question their decision but for them, who they love is the most important.

Yuhan is a kind-hearted person, he seems cold but he really loves Chim and I am their brother who always support them. At firsts I doubted but Yuhan made sure that his love for Chim is pure and true, as friend I am so happy for them.
