"I must say you've changed drastically." Daniel mumbled as they walked down the street with cups of Coffee in their hands. She arched her eyebrows briefly.
"The same can be said for you too." She remarked.
"Oh well, thanks to my past life." He smiled but she ignored it. Choosing to pay attention to even the slightest act he orchestrated.
"I have a son." He muttered in a solemn tone. "John,a six year old." His eyes were fixed upfront. She knew he wasn't ready to face her from the guilt that consumed him. On the other hand, she was shocked and failed miserably in handling the bombshell. There was also the pain that sprang up in her chest too."Congrats." Was all she could force her nerves to say. He gazed at her.
"That didn't come from your heart." He remarked.
"And how do you know that?" She retorted. Her palms secretly clenching.
DANIEL As Daniel stared into the Camera Zoey bought for him eight years ago, memories of yesterday flashed. How she retained her ever graceful beauty. Except for the changes which he still fancied. Her long straightened black hair she notably dyed. The rest were just the same;her petite body, those Hazel eyes that glittered and her soft voice which always melted his heart. There was also the sadness accompanied with her smile. It signified how much pain and suffering she had faced over the years. She might not have noticed it but he did. Daniel's mind travelled to the walk and conversation they shared at a garden. He realize her perspective towards issues had changed too. She had grown pessimistic and overly stiff towards him. It was bound to happen anyway. After so many misunderstandings and long years apart, she was right to distrust him. His hands curled into a fist when he remembered all the sufferings she
DANIELPARISDaniel dressed his son,John, in the same outfit he was donning. A classic short sleeves dark blue T-shirt layered with a dark green bomber jacket. On a blue slim fit jean and black Chelsea boots to complement it all. He shot his son a bright smile once he had finished dressing him up."There! My little Johnny looks stunning." Daniel gestured with a wink while John grinned sheepishly. The boy's eyes flowed to Funke who stood behind them."Mommy!" John pulled away from his grasp and up to his mother. Daniel arose to his stance shooting his divorced wife a faint smile. They've been divorced for two months now but they still went on vacations together. Only for John's sake. During this months,he resigned from his managerial position and resumed his work in photography. He was also based in New York with his son while Funke remained in Nigeria with a working class job. H
ZOEY"You're hurting me Gray!" Zoey screamed, her pain of agony filling the mansion but her lover proved adamant to her pains rather kicking her consistently with his shoe across her stomach. His handsome face morphed into fury and his innocent eyes turning monstrous as he abused her till the very least his energy could carry. He stopped to catch his breath whilst by that time her skin had already rumpled into bruises from his merciless beatings. He breathed out the air hanging in his throat certain he has done justice to her."Unless you want to be dead by sunset don't fire that perverted manager of yours!" He stated calmly like he hadn't done anything wrong, adjusting his blue suit before walking over her.She heard the door cling to it's lock as he exited. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as she a
ZOEYThe setting was based in a medium sized room covered in grey metal walls proud enough to reflect even the littlest sound. Not much credit could be said for the lighting,as it shone dimly encrusted in the concrete ceiling above. CCTVS also installed at every corner of the room. And there lies the metal table rigidly standing at the center accompanied with two metal chairs. One she sat on with her hands cuffed and the other, the detective whose face showed just how impatient he's grown."With all due evidence,it is hereby certified that you killed your husband!." Said the detective whose voice contained disappointment and his haunting narrowed gaze."No!" Zoey gasped. "I didn't kill him!. He was so dear to me,he was my angel,my guardian, the love of my life. Why would I kill such a man?" She cried further,he
ZOEY"I hope you don't mind it's a cup of coffee I can afford for a lady like you." He grinned as they sat opposite each other close to the transparent glass window at their side."It's totally fine Daniel. Besides, you should consider yourself a lucky man...""Because I'm having a conversation with a star?" He interjected with a slight frown on his face."No!..." She laughed briefly. "Because, you discovered my coffee taste the first day we met.""First time I followed my heart and not my head,I won the heart of Zoey Johansson." He gestured with a chuckle making her laugh too.&nb
DANIEL"I'm glad you're okay now." Daniel soothed. His eyes containing so much care and softness."It's just a minor accident. Don't worry."Daniel nodded with a worried face. He took a quick glance around the room before planning to move."I'll take my leave now" He muttered but as he reached for the door knob.."Daniel..." He paused in his steps to stare. "Thank you for coming."A small grin parted his lips. "Get well soon. Mr Clinton." He nodded again before exiting the room. Walking worriedly amidst the nurses that held one thing or the other, some were busy attending to patients with hearty smiles and kind
SEVERAL WEEKS LATERDANIEL"Daniel!. I've been waiting for you. What took you so long?" Mr. Clinton dropped the file in his hands on his desk as the young ebony entered into his office."I was uhm....I was occupied with some issues." He lied. Back to the morning,he was sleeping lazily on his rickety bed when his boss's call came in. Idris had gone for his daily business,he had to clean the whole room, take a bath and face a bit of traffic before arriving at his boss's.Mr. Clinton pinched the area between his eyebrow before resigning to his swivel chair, beckoning Daniel to have a seat too."First of,I would like to say a big thank you for the care you showed me during my recovery. It means a l
DANIEL"Ehhh Daniel!....." Said the cheerful voice of the man most probably in his late forties as he welcomed his partner to join him on his coffee table with a wide grin."Comment allez-vous?" He asked once Daniel had resigned to the seat opposite his.Daniel lifted an eyebrow before letting out a light sigh."I think I'm doing great Charles, thank you." He answered. It's been basically two months now that he's arrived Paris. He's first week was a tough one for him,he missed New York, it's people, his African friends at the quarter and most especially,Idris. Talk about the mode of dressing, their language which he found hard to understand yet intriguing, or the wonderful delicacies his taste buds struggled to adapt to. The rest of the weeks he spent them meeting with Charles Louis, his co-worker whom Mr. Clinton had promised, in preparation for this magazine they were going to shoot in the coming months. At first

DANIEL As the plane landed on the cold floor of New York, all Daniel could think of was the day before. How his Mother had argued vehemently against his decision and Funke crying helplessly. Looking pathetic in her pleas levied to him. Regardless,he didn't waver on his decision. And to avoid further troubles,he decided to move to New York under the pretence of work urgency. Of course Funke had done a lot for he and his family but that didn't warrant love. The moment he had gotten his memories,he realized who his heart belonged to. Zoey Johansson. On a normal day,Daniel would have chosen to pay his friends a visit. But today trailed a different path. Zoey was his only priority. He thirsted to see her,how she has been faring, what work she was up too and above all,the changes she embraced over the years. Thinking about the good times together brought a smile to his face and more than ever he wished to reliv
DANIEL° "Mommy don't tell you're proposing a marriage between Funke and I?" He lifted his eyebrow in a quizzical manner. "What does it look like I'm doing? You've stayed abroad long enough and you're beginning to loose your touch with culture." "That's not enough reason mommy. Besides,I'm not ready for any marriage wahala." "She's a good girl, you both are compatible. Ko si wahala Kan Kan" "And how do you know that?. She's not one I'll even approve to be honest." "Wait, wait,is it that you already have someone else in mind?"
DANIEL"Where are you?!"Daniel sighed, glaring wearily at his iPhone that brightened from his wife's message that popped on his screen. He tossed his phone across his desk from mild irritation.Eight years. Within a span of this period a lot had happened, things had changed. He could start with him rising to a managerial post in one of GT bank's head office. All appraisal to Funke. Back then, he had appreciated her efforts and affection for him until his mother proposed the idea of marriage. He disagreed vehemently but as time passed with Funke continuing her sweet actions. Pressure from both sides,he eventually succumbed for one reason. To repay the debts as she had already done a lot for he and his family. His marriage was blissful when it just bloomed. Although as it aged,Joy became a news of the past, peace ceased to reign. All that replenished their marriage was ceaseless arguments and
ZOEY Zoey started her day with heavy drinking but she need not to worry. Her body had already grown accustomed to this new habit. It wasn't anyone's fault though, she only blamed herself for being weak. Weak to face life and it's harsh reality. Her days of childhood were spent in pampering by her parents. Even when she had grown into a young adult, her life basically still defined pampering. Everything she wanted was at ease. She didn't have to go through life's struggles and hustles be it. But soon that sweet life changed the moment the first love of her life changed drastically. From the most loving man to a monster in disguise. Then her life migrated from Gray to Daniel. The most adorable, sweetest, caring and handsome man she's ever seen. She smiled sadly staring at the photo album he had gifted her on Christmas. Dated to that day,she had vowed to treasure it and keep the memories that came along with this gift in her heart. But loo
DANIEL"That was for kissing me last night without my permission." His calm tenor voice came out seductive yet thrilling in a way. She let out the chill air residing in her throat as his gaze were still strongly locked to hers and his face inching closer by every second appreciating the beauty her face beheld."And this..." That sweet tune escaped his lips again. He looked at those Hazel eyes again. Innocent and pure."Is for stealing my heart." He finally finished his statement and without further ado. He smashed his lips against hers again. Her moans weren't given much liberty to escape her throat as his tongue had found it's way to hers. Intertwining passionately, both basking in their lustful sensations and struggling for domination. Then another blurry memory played in his head.H
FUNKE The morning was peaceful but she was at war. Daniel's mother had gone to the market while Uncle B busied himself with his usual business;drinking and chasing after women with his friends. Leaving her with Daniel who was still asleep in his room. Days had passed since she last visited nor even spoken to Daniel. She was only here due to his mother's request. The feeling of rejection was still there. Her love for him could be dated back to their secondary school days. When she had bumped into him from obliviousness at the library. Their array of books had clashed and crashed to the marble floor but he didn't take offence. Rather,he had expressed the most brightest and heartwarming smile she had ever seen. Scooping her book gently and arranging them in a straightened order. She had apologized countlessly for her actions but he maintained his countenance, apologizing instead. It was that smile, that care and warmth i
