I went outside to get some fresh air because I couldn't stand the scene right there. I don't understand why he wants to talk to me, even though we're not together anymore. Also, everything is clear to me. That's fine with me and I accept that he's dating someone now. I accepted it even though I was still hurt but there was nothing I could do because we both started to move on.

Fortunately, I brought the wine I bought there. I'll just let my two friends look for me later but I think they won't look for me because they're busy with their crushes. Out of the three of us, I'm the only one who doesn't have a crush! Both of them should be ready when someone gets my attention.

"Hey,"

"Hey!" I almost shouted while still holding my chest because of the shock.

"What the hell?!" I said indignantly when I saw who it was.

I couldn't take back what I said because I was taken by surprise. I don't know what Stefan is doing here. I don't want to assume that he is following me here.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shock you," he said to me but I could see the smirk on his face.

I was in agony because of his reaction but he just laughed.

"Is there something funny?" I asked him in vain.

He laughed even more, which is why I glared at him. He shook his head and bowed for a moment before turning to me again to speak.

"It's true what they say. You are grumpy," he said.

I raised an eyebrow at him. We are outside the hotel now and it is bright because of the street lights surrounding it. I couldn't look at him for a long time because I was overwhelmed.

"Who said that? They're still spreading false information," I said with a crafty voice.

I'm not grumpy. I just don't vibe with him right now because I'm not in the mood. That's why I came out here to breathe easy and be alone but it looks like he purposely followed me here to insult me for being rude.

"Is that fake information? It's obvious now that you're grumpy because you're grumpy to me," he answered me then laughed a little.

I just shook my head and immediately drank the wine I was holding. I should have taken a bottle so I wouldn't be hungover. Maybe later when I get back in, especially since we still have an after-party.

"But I like that kind of attitude. You're rude because you're beautiful," Stefan added.

It's a good thing I swallowed the wine I was drinking or I'm sure I would have been coughing because of what he said. I was already stung by my saliva but I just coughed it up so it wouldn't be noticeable. I didn't expect Stefan to behave like this, especially since we just met formally.

I took a deep breath before turning to him and speaking.

"You know what? You can't get past me with your tricks like that. I already heard that punch line and you know what happened? He just cheated on me in the end," I said to him one after the other then sneered at him before finally leaving.

I just went back inside where the party was starting. The old people were already dancing there and I just shook my head because even though they are old they look like a child the way they act.

"Eli," Jackson called me when we bumped into each other again.

I just sighed again and got tired before completely passing him there. I don't let him come close to me and talk to me because his girlfriend might see us. I don't want to fight anymore and I don't want people who see that I'm fighting just because of a man. Well, that won't happen because I'm not cheap. Jackson is not worth fighting for.

"My gosh, Eliana! Where have you been? You said you were just gonna get something to drink. Did you drown?" Clara asked me immediately when I got back to our table.

"O.M.G!? Are you two together?" he asked again.

I frowned and looked where Clara was looking now.

"Ah-" I couldn't finish what I was going to say when Stefan suddenly spoke behind me.

"Yup. We just went outside together," he answered, then smiled at me.

My eyes widened because of that, especially when our friends started teasing us.

"Yeee! You two!" they tease us.

My eyes widened and I shook my head. I can feel my cheeks getting hot because of the shame.

"Stop it, guys! We just met there coincidentally," I said then got annoyed because I was annoyed that they were teasing me with that Stefan.

"Did you fall in love at first sight?" Josiah asked me with a laughing voice.

It was obvious that they were teasing us but this Stefan seemed to enjoy what his friends were doing.

"Guys, just a survey. Are Eliana and I compatible?" He laughed and asked our friends there.

"Of course! You look like a couple now!" His friend answered.

I just shook my head because it looks like they won't stop there. I still feel bad for Stefan because of the stupid things he is doing now.

"Just chill for now, guys. One day you'll realize that Eliana and I are already together," he said with a laugh so our friends there also laughed.

I narrowed my eyes at him because his dream was getting too much. I did not expect this man's attitude!

"That's the one thing that I will make sure won't happen. Well, it's free to dream," I replied to him then tormented him again.

They laughed there again and pissed off Stefan so I just ignored them.

"Why are you together?" Clara asked me while still smiling.

"I didn't want to be with him outside. He followed me," I answered then I couldn't stop rolling my eyes again.

Clara laughed and slightly poked my side to tickle so I stopped her.

"I'll just go to my sisters first!" I said flatly to her then stood up.

"I'm coming with you!" Josiah said immediately.

"No, Josiah. Just stay here," I answered him then I raised an eyebrow at him.

Josiah didn't do anything else because I left him there totally. I don't even know where I can see my siblings, but I think that would be easy because no matter where I look, I see my schoolmates.

I saw Sabrina right away and I also joined her other friends because they were already drinking, but I didn't stay long when I saw Jackson and his girlfriend approaching Sabrina's table. Sabrina didn't stop me because she knew my reason.

Next, I joined Stella and her friends and since we are not from the same batch and the same age, they just asked me questions. I wasn't bored of bonding with them but I also said goodbye to them right away because I remembered the friends I left there.

"How's Stella?" Josiah immediately asked me when I got back.

Before I could speak, I looked at Stefan's behavior again because I saw that he was staring. I got tired and sat down next to Josiah.

"She's fine. She seems to enjoy being with a guy. Maybe she's on a date," I answered then shrugged my shoulders.

I immediately saw the change in Josiah's reaction so I couldn't stop laughing.

"Stella is on a date? Wow, she beat you ha!" Clara teased.

"Tell me, Eli, who she was dating and I'll beat him up," Josiah said, making Clara and I laugh at the same time.

"You might be the one to get beaten up, so you should stop!" I laughed and answered him.

Stella doesn't have a date. I just want to tease him because he was teasing me earlier with Stefan. It didn't take long for us to tease each other there because our friends at the table were already on their feet when they heard that the dancing was about to start.

"Oh how about that? I'll leave you two for now. I'll just invite Stella to dance," said Josiah as he stood up.

"What?! You're going to leave Eli and me here? Make us dance first before Stella!" Clara said, complaining.

She grabbed the coat that Josiah was wearing so that he couldn't get out of there right away.

"My clothes are wrinkled, Clara. Also, why should I dance with you when many men want to dance with you," Josiah answered one after the other to deny what Clara was saying.

Clara was about to speak again when we simultaneously looked up at a man who stood beside her. I can't help but be incapacitated because it's Elijah! It was Clara's crush!

"Clara," he called my friend.

I grinned because I knew that my friend was very happy now. Elijah is handsome and also one of the rich people in our town. Clara likes him very much because besides being handsome, famous, and rich, he is also kind and smart.

Clara looked stunned by Elijah that's why I felt Josiah lightly nudge me. I lightly kicked Clara's foot under the table to return to her senses.

"Y-yes?" she stammered and then straightened up.

"Can we dance? Even just for a moment," he asked her so my eyes widened even more.

"Sure, Elijah! You can dance even all night tonight. She won't whine," Josiah answered so I elbowed him.

"May I have this dance?"

It wasn't long before I heard Stefan by my side. I don't know what's going on tonight and I feel the same way.

"Oh, someone is asking you to dance, so let me go," Josiah said again and then completely left there.

I briefly looked at Stefan who stayed by my side. When he saw the way I was looking at him, he smiled at me so even though I wanted to torture him, I stopped myself.

"Please?" He pleaded.

"I know there's a lot of boys who want you to dance with them but... I'm taking a risk too," he added then shrugged his shoulders.

I took a deep breath and turned to Clara's side where she was earlier but I was very surprised when she was no longer there. My eyes widened and rolled my eyes immediately. That's why she couldn't escape me. I saw her with Elijah in the middle of the crowd while dancing! My gosh! Well, who is human enough to reject their crush, right?

"Eliana, please. I want to dance with you," Stefan scolded me again so I turned to him.

"I also know that many women are waiting for you to ask them to dance. Why don't you go to them and leave me?" I said flatly to him.

"I don't want them. I want you," he answered, causing my heart to skip a beat.

"When I dance with you, will you stop me later and no matter where we meet?" I asked him while raising an eyebrow.

He laughed and scratched his forehead before speaking again.

"Well, I can't promise that but yes. I will try. Just give it to me now," he answered then extended his hand to me again.

I looked at his white palm that was in front of me so I took a deep breath again before I accepted his hand to dance with him.

Honestly, I don't want to dance with him, especially when my friend and his friend started teasing us. I don't want the issue between me and Stefan to get worse, but since he is naughty and it seems like he won't stop me, I just gave him what he wanted.

"Thank you,"I looked at Stefan who was smiling while staring at me. We were starting to dance now and I couldn't look directly at him. I'm still a bit annoyed because the few people who saw us, if they weren't teasing us, they were taking pictures of us. "This is gonna be yours last. Don't forget my condition," I said to him using my stubborn attitude toward him. He laughed so I didn't even look at him. I don't know what he ate. For sure he has been seeing me at school before and I just don't understand why he is paying attention to me now. "Oh come on, Eli. We just met and we're schoolmates. Why don't we try to be friends with each other?" he answered and asked me. "I already have friends," I answered him. "I know but I still want to be friends with you. Can we? Please?" He pleaded like a child."I'll think about it first," I answered him because I'm sure he won't stop me again. "That would be nice to hear, Eli, but it's not. Your sister already has a boyfriend. She told me then that I should just wait for her until she graduates from college," he said to me one after another, so I became silent."I did what she told me to wait for her. You saw how I avoid women who pay attention to me just for your sister, but I didn't expect it now. While I was waiting for her, she was already in love with others. How ridiculous, right?" he continued speaking then shook his head. I bit my lip as I listened to Josiah's story. I don't know anything my sister said to him because Josiah doesn't like to tell stories. Even now I am shocked by what I found out. "Why don't you tell me?" he asked. I frowned, "Say which one?" I asked curiously. "That someone else is flirting with Stella. For sure he's visiting your house and you see it. Why didn't you tell me? Why did you let me hope?" he said and asked me one after another so I shook my head one after another. "Jos, I-I didn't

"Why is she here? Did Mom let her?" I asked. "I don't know. I saw her here earlier and she's your responsibility here. Just keep an eye on it," she answered and then left me there completely. I was in agony and shook because I was going to be a baby sitter now! And I really have to keep an eye on that girl especially since I found out that she has a boyfriend. I don't know that man, that's why I don't trust that he is with my sister now. I drank my last shot again and asked for two more shots before finally leaving to go back to our table because my friends might be looking for me. They looked up at me when I got there, especially Stefan, so I looked back at him with a frown. I was still wondering if there was dirt on my face because that man had been looking at me for a while. I couldn't help but notice because it was as if he was reading my mind every time he looked at me. "Vodka, Eli?" he asked. My lips lifted and looked at the two shots I was holding. I don't know where they went," I answered then shrugged my shoulders. "I still haven't seen Josiah, it's a shame he didn't participate in our games," he told me. "Even though he's here, I'm sure he won't join. He's a killjoy tonight," I answered him. After my sister rejected him, I don't think he wants to play with us now. I'm sure he's drinking more right now to forget about it."Too bad. I wish I could ask him something," he said as I poured wine into my glass and his glass. "What are you going to ask him?" I asked after drinking wine again. "If he likes you," Stefan answered me immediately. I suddenly coughed because I was surprised by what he said and then I couldn't help but laugh because of that. "Oh, why? Are you alright? Why did my words make you cough?" he said with a worried voice. "Just from your reaction, I think you really like each o

I'm gonna transfer it to your account," Mommy said immediately, making me shake my head. "Mom, no. I need to tell you something," I told her. I don't need money because my account never runs out. That's not why I woke up early today either. "Oh my gosh, Scarlet. Don't surprise me," she said while pouring tea into her cup. "Listen to me carefully," I said and immediately saw Mommy nod at me. "I just discovered last night that Stella already has a boyfriend. Is there someone who asks your permission to court our Stella?" I asked.Mommy's eyes widened then she shook her head at me so I just nodded and sighed. "Maybe that's not her boyfriend. You know your sister has a lot of friends. "I'm leaving first. "I just have to go somewhere," Josiah said as we walked down the corridor to the library. "Where are you going?" I asked him. "I'm just passing by my group mates on a subject," he replied then immediately changed direction. When Clara and I looked at each other, I just rolled my eyes."I don't believe that Josiah is going to join his group mates. He's just going to see Stella," I said. Clara laughed while nodding at me before speaking. "You know him, don't you? I don't believe it either, so it's funny because he has to lie to us even though it's obvious that Stella is the one he's going to," Clara continued as she continued to laugh. "I can see how serious he is with Stella. In the few years I've been with Josiah, he doesn't pay attention to the women who're approaching him. He's loyal to Stella even though he's not sure that she'll like him back," I said, then shrugged. "You're right. I just don't understand why Stella's torturing Jos," she replied then sig

"I'm sorry to hear that, Eli. So, you're going home to Clara's condo now?" he asked and I immediately shook my head. "Not yet because I'll be alone there. Maybe I'll just go to the grill and club first," I answered then shrugged my shoulders. "No, Eli. I know you're upset with your mother right now, but going to the club is not a solution, especially when you're alone," he told me. I didn't speak immediately because he was right. We just had a drink last night and I feel like the alcohol I drank is still in my stomach so I don't want to drink but I don't know where else to go now. "How about coming with me? To the place, I always go when I'm stressed. No one goes there and I'm sure you'll enjoy the view especially since it's late," he said again while smiling at me. "Where are we going?" "Eli, can I request something before we leave here?" Stefan asked me. I frowned for a moment and wondered what request he would ask but I just shrugged my shoulders and nodded at him before answering him. "Yeah, sure. What is it?" I asked him. "Let's take a picture together," he replied, then showed me his phone. I suddenly laughed because I didn't expect his request to be just like that, which is why I nodded. "Sure. That's all," I told him. He is like a child who has been granted because I can see the joy in his expression as he puts it on the camera of his phone. When he fixed that, he approached me so that we could fit in the same frame. It had a front camera and he was counting every picture he took, but then he pressed the shutter one after the other, which is why I just hated him because of the number of pictures he took. "It's only one time so I'll make the most of it," he said then put it on the video because I was surprised. "Hi, guys! This is our first video togethe

I can explain to Yasmin that you can't join us," Stefan said as we walked to Yasmin's hospital room.I shook my head and smirked a little because he really believed that Lance was my boyfriend."There's nothing to be angry about. Don't mind about it, Stefan. It's okay. I assure you," I told him, and he smiled. He sighed and shook his head at me, as if I couldn't convince him that it was all right for me."I just don't want you to fight because of this," he answered when we finally entered Yasmin's room.I saw Yasmin's frown when she looked at us; that's why I smiled at her, because she seemed to have heard the last thing Stefan said."Get angry? Who gets angry? Is your mommy taking you away from us, Doc?" Yasmin asked one after the other.I quickly shook my head at her and looked at Stefan, who led me to walk. "Come on, Eli. Tell me the truth. I won't be angry if you and Stefan get back together again," Josiah scolded me.I sighed and raised an eyebrow at him. I told him earlier that Stefan and I didn't get back together, but he didn't want to believe that."Stop it, Jos. We just talked. That's it," I answered him.We are now walking to a restaurant near the hospital. As usual, even when I'm outside, I know there are bodyguards following me. It was already dinner time, so we decided to eat outside because we had duty all night."Talked? You said that you already talked. I've seen you two talking so many times that's why you can't use an excuse that word to me," he said one after another as if he didn't really believe what I was saying.I shook my head again because I didn't know how I could convince him that Stefan and I really just talked earlier."If you don't want to believe me, then you better ask him by yourself. We really just talked for our closure, and we also talked about the false

After coming from the precinct, I went straight to the hospital. Josiah immediately approached me to ask what happened."Stella mentioned to me that you are from the precinct. How are you? Have you talked to your dad's twin brother?" Josiah immediately asked me.I nodded and sighed."Yup. I have also introduced them to Tito Adler, and we still get to know him," I answered.Josiah nodded at me before he fixed his laboratory coat. He was about to speak, but he turned his gaze behind me, which made me frown, and looked at it.I saw Stefan approaching us; that's why I held my breath."I'll just check on some of my patients. I'll come to your office later," Josiah said, then immediately left.I panicked for a moment because I didn't expect him to leave right away, but I calmed myself down."Doc Eli," Stefan called me.I kept looking at him, and I could see the doubt in his eyes, as if he wasn't sure if he should approach me now.I cleared my throat and stood properly before I spoke."Mr. E

"How can you not know about that, Mom?" Allison asked."My gosh! If he hadn't introduced himself, I might have believed that it was Dad!" Stella said one after the other."How can I know about that? Your Daddy never mentioned to me that he has a twin!" Mommy answered, then sat down on the sofa.We are at home now because, after Tito Adler's statement appeared on the news, Mommy called us to come home. I thought they wouldn't be able to watch it right away because they were busy with their work, but I was surprised when they watched it right away."He looks like Dad. I suddenly miss Daddy," Allison said with a sad voice.I remembered the night Uncle Adler appeared to me, and I was also very devastated because I thought it was Dad in front, but it wasn't. I understand Allison's feelings because I have felt the same."So what's your plan, Mom? Don't tell me we're not going to help him, huh?" asked Stella.I looked up at Mommy because I was interested in her answer to Stella's question. I

I don't know how many minutes passed until Mommy finally calmed down, but there was still a trace of anger in her eyes. "I-I just want to help the baby, but that doesn't mean I'm going back to Stefan," I explained to them. Even Stella did not want to agree to me adopting Elias because she said it was not my obligation. Another thing is that they really hate Stefan, even though I told them that I forgave him a long time ago. "How can you be so sure about that? I'm sure that man will use you again!" Stella said, annoyed. "It looks like you're planning to fool around for the rest of your life, Eliana. Hey! I don't know if I should be the one to say it. You're at the right age, so it's up to you!" Mommy kept preaching to me. I sighed again because I couldn't understand why they were thinking of me getting back together with Stefan, even though it never crossed my mind. After I got Yasmin back to her room, I let her rest. Stefan was still there, and Elias was asleep in the little crib. "Thank you, Doc. How is she?" Stefan asked me. Yasmin fell asleep immediately because her body gets tired quickly. Stefan, on the other hand, stopped what he was doing to come to me and say thank you. "She was fine, and we have already talked. She just mentioned something to me earlier," I answered, then shrugged my shoulders. I could see the slight surprise in his eyes, as if he already knew what it was about. "A-About what?" he stuttered. I avoided looking at him, and I looked at Yasmin, who was sleeping on her bed, as if she were very tired. "She doesn't want to have the surgery," I answered.I feel so sorry for her, because even if I don't agree with what she wants, I can't do anything else. "Yes, she already told me about that. I don't agree to what she wants even though her funds for her treatment have been used up," Stefan explained, causing me to turn t

I saw that the sun was about to set, and I was glad to witness it now because it was almost night when I left the hospital. It's a good thing that Yasmin asked for this, so I was able to watch the sunset with her. "How's your feeling?" I asked Yasmin. We are now behind the hospital, where there are many trees and a large oval field. This is the place I chose for my hospital so that I could give the patients a big space. The air is fresh there, and I sometimes go here when I want to be alone. There are also other patients there who are being taken around by their nurses. "As of now, I feel fine and feel no pain," Yasmin answered me. I gave her the vegetable salad that Josiah gave me earlier because I couldn't eat it anymore. I only drink iced coffee now. Yasmin was looking at the big oval field while sitting in her wheelchair, so I sat on a bench right next to her. "Your surgery is coming soon. Are you ready?" I asked her. I saw Josiah immediately shake his head while looking at me, so I slightly raised an eyebrow at him. "How many times do I have to tell you, Eli? Separate your personal feelings in situations like this so you don't get hurt in the end," he said to remind me again. I held my breath and tried to smile at him before speaking. "I know, Jos. I went straight to Lance's room and found him awake. He was talking with Criza, his sister. They looked at me at the same time when I entered, so I smiled. "Doc, Eli." Criza greeted me. I smiled at Criza and couldn't help but remember what I discovered about what happened to her. I turned to Criza to have a kiss with her, then I looked at Lance, who was just looking at me silently. "I'll leave you two here for now. I'm just going to buy something outside," Criza said to say goodbye. I nodded to her, and I watched her until she got out of Lance's hospital room. When Criza finally left, I turned to Lance again. He smirked as if he was going to start teasing me again, so I immediately came to him and lightly slapped his arm. "Ouch! Eliana! Did you really come here to hurt me?" he asked, then laughed slightly. "Yeah, because you're annoying! Why did you catch the bullet meant for me? You don't have nine lives," I complained to him. He laughed, so I glared at him. "Stop laughing. T
