Sixty-Eight

The unmistakable noise of a resounding gunshot startled Gypsy out of her unconsciousness. Her mind was in a haze, causing the world to spin, but it all came into focus when she noticed the man on the floor clutching at his chest as blood seeped through his fingers, drenching the floor.

Dread zinged through her veins.

“Dante...” She said through the panic that restricted her voice.

No! No! No!

She was just about to rush to his side when she was suddenly grabbed by the arm and brought to her feet.

“Let me go! Let go off me!” She thrashed her body, trying to get out of Falcon's hold. “You shot him, you monster. You shot him!”

Before she could even say anything to Dante, Falcon was dragging her out the room. He dragged her along the corridor while ordering her to shut up, but Gypsy just couldn't.

She'd just lost her son and Dante was also dying because of her, oh God.
