93. The First King

Sylvester read the letter from his sons and grandchildren. He smiled and somehow, for a very long time, he felt so alive. He took out the ring and the belongings of his wife. He still even has his painting of his dead wife around his cabin.

He took out a ring from the box which he always cleaned up as he sat down over the bed. It’s already night and he must go there to protect her.

He took a shower, dressed up well, and headed to the castle. Upon reaching the castle, the Duke seemed to be waiting for him.

He handed out a box as he took it and checked it.

“The latest phone.” He grinned. “King Gideon was worried. Their numbers are there. Your phone had unlimited calls, text, and even internet. You can even set up social media.”

“No, thanks.” He sighed. “Athena, have you heard from her?”

“No.” He shrugged. “Would you like to join us for dinner?”

“Sure.” He smiled. Sylvester followed him to the dining hall and was disappointed upon not seeing the girl. “What’s her name? Your sister?
