Caleb watched as his beloved was sitting by the window seat, her forehead was leaned on the glass as she stared outside. His heart ached as he knew that she wanted to come home.

He approached her as he sat in front of her. He scooped her hands and gently squeezed them. She looked at him as an adorable smile drew her plump lips.

He kissed it as he stared at her emerald eyes.

“Do you miss home?”

“I do.” She whispered. “Father probably wants me to stay home and rule our small world. But outside our small world was bigger.”

“I can bring you home. I can stay with you there if your father permits it.”

“No. I choose to be with you.” She placed her hand over his chest where his heart was located. The beating of his heart… she had placed her mark in there. “We will live for hundreds of years, my Caleb.”

“We will.” He whispered. “And I will help you protect them.” He caressed her hair. “Did you seek through my memories?”
