Chapter 17 Betrayal

“I can’t do that. And I won't do that to Addie.” Cage replied.

“Brother, I know you love her. But you have to ask yourself what’s the best way to protect her. You already know about the shadow that’s been following her. He’s good, but not as good as Hawk.” Steel replied.

“Addie will never forgive me. She barely did last time. I can’t take the risk that she won't forgive me again. I have to at least tell her what’s going on.” Cage replied.

“No. For this to work, you need genuine emotions. You need it to be as real as possible. If she knows, are you willing to bet how good she can act when it goes down?” Steel asked.

“Fuck! This blows. If this doesn’t work, I’m turning in my cut, getting Addie and leaving the state.” Cage warned, slamming both fists on the table.

Everyone looked at Viper. They weren’t sure if he was going to explode and destroy the room or remain there tearing into each of them with his eyes and words. He was seething mad. He knew they were out of options.
