I opened my eyes after a few minutes and all I could see was blurry visions of people moving in slow motion. I closed my eyes again to regain consciousness. “It's a boy”,I could hear Jim say to me with a broad smile littered over his face as I opened my eyes in his direction. “Where is Jasmine?” I inquired from Jim, who held my little werewolf in his elbow, carefully wrapped in heavy wool. “She went with Chloe to the pack duplex to inform Michael of your delivery”; he responded, tapping the wool covering my newborn to hush him from crying as he sang an unknown rhyme to the little he-wolf. I sat on the bed with Sharon beside me and beckoned on Jim to release my little he-wolf to me. Just immediately I sighted Spiffy and Chloe stepping into the ward, the sound of their footsteps quacking the building as he walked to the side of my bed beaming with smiles drawn all over his face. “I've paid the bills, so we can go home”, he said, holding my hands with his right hand and touching my little werewolf with the other hand as he muttered “The Next Alpha of the Night Shadow's Pack”. I didn't respond as I was weak and weary of the sight of him, and I'm certain I will never stay in his house just as I responded in weak tones “I will raise him alone”. He looked into my eyes and broke into a smile, lifting up from the bedside the wares and provisions he brought as he said “Here is for my Luna and her little werewolf”. He brought out a flask which contained hot liquids and gestured that I take a sip of it. Slapping the flask of his hand I said amidst weakness “Get out of here Spiffy”, “I don't want to ever see you”. “I can't leave you in this condition”, he explained calmly, bringing out some hard currency from his pocket and handing it over to Jim as he said “Thank you for bringing her to the hospital on time”. Jim retorted with a smile as he said “Let's take her home, tomorrow she will arrive at the Night Shadow's Pack house”, with Sharon nodding in agreement, as Jim held onto Spiffy's hand, shaking them vigorously. As Jim helped me get off the bed, I had wanted to knock Jim's head and say you have been swindled by accepting his money but I couldn't as I was still weak to give a knock. We drove in Spiffy's limousine back home to Jim's house. And as I sat on the comfortable leather seats, Spiffy's head almost reached the moon roof with the stereo system gently releasing soul music. Spiffy looked at me and echoed “This is all yours and to my life werewolf”. I looked away through the tinted glasses which shone in the neon lights. I thought about Michael and how he would react to the news of my delivery and then I spewed “Why is Jasmine not here yet or even called”? I directed my question at Jim who was enjoying some cocktails, clicking glasses with Sharon at the mini bar space of the limo. It was Chloe who responded “I went together with Jasmine to Michaels apartment” Chloe replied swiftly, “She asked me to meet up with Spiffy on his way to the hospital”. “I have got hot gist to tell you at home bridggy”. Spiffy helped me out of the limo when we arrived at Jim's apartment, while Chloe cuddled Liam, my little werewolf. I had named him already and I don't care what Spiffy has to say. I was left alone with Spiffy in Sharon's room. “Bridggy”, Spiffy said calmly. " I can't wait to welcome you as the Luna of my pack”, “you will be my queen and my mate forever”. Then he kissed my neck while I stood still, unresponsive to his kisses. “Forget about Michael” he reiterated attempting to lock his lips on mine as I swinged my face away from his and said “How can I forget about my fated mate”. “I am your fated mate”, he blurted, holding my head still and forcing his lips on mine. I pinched his back with the little energy in me which made him scream and let go of my head. “Get out of here Spiffy” I whispered as I walked out of the room to meet Chloe who was waiting to tell me some important stuff. I didn't know when Spiffy left as I had gone into Chloe's room with Chloe following me behind. “Bridggy I suspect jasmine has a thing for Michael”, Chloe sprung out immediately she slammed the door behind her, walking to the bedside stool where I stood. “How do you know that”,I asked, slightly frowning as I trust Jasmine not to be a snitch. “I eavesdropped on their conversation at Michael's house when we went to inform you of your delivery. I heard her tell Michael that you are no longer in the picture, that he could have her whenever he wants, she even caressed his beards, licking his earlobe”. “Please do not tell her I said this”, she said, holding her ears, dragging them slightly outward. “She didn't know I stood beside the huge German door which was slightly open and saw her rubbing Michaels chest with her palms” “You could call Michael to confirm what I am saying”. I picked up my phone on the bedside stool and dialed Michael's digit. It appeared on my phone screen as my fated mate with his picture on display and I am not deleting his digits sooner or later,I thought to myself. I was surprised when I heard his baritone voice on the other end just as he said “how can I help you”?. “Was Jasmine my sister In your house this morning?" I asked, trying to hide my tired voice. “Yes she was”, “what's about that”? he questioned. I could see Chloe swinging her head and whispering that I asked the next question with boldness.
