Chapter 90 Seeds Of Doubt

Ariana’s POV

‘Damon could be lying.’ A voice in my head whispered.

I already knew that.

‘Then why do you believe him?’ The voice asked again.

I just do.

Images of Fenrir’s injuries came flooding in.

The bloody hand. The battered flesh. The bruised body.

My eyes flew open and I parted the kiss.

“Fenrir still believes I was the one who attacked him,” Damon asked suddenly, “Right?” He pressed on.

“Yes.” I answered out of duty, “There’s only one way that we can alleviate that belief.”

“I have to go meet him.” He completed.

I had no idea on what emotions he said those words and that fact caused me more anxiety.

“Yeah.” I breathed out, shakily.

He said nothing for a moment before holding my hand and slowly but firmly leading me towards the door.

“Let’s go then.” When I relaxed and let him guide me out, his fingers gently strolled to my fingers, intertwining them with his.

As we left, I came to a realization.

It was specific yet forgettable things like these that kept my belief in Damon unyi
