Becky ’s POV
The woman stalked towards us, her angry glare trained entirely on me. She was beautiful, even in her anger it was clear. Pale milky skin, red hair and a black dress that hugged her curves. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked, her fury in every step. “Alexander? What’s going on here? What is the meaning of this?” She fumed, eyes narrowing at me. I tried to get away from the Alpha but he only tightened his hold, squeezing his fingers around my waist and drawing me even closer to his chest. I winced and swallowed nervously, my cheeks tinging at the action. “You shouldn’t barge in like that Morgan. You’re bound to see things you would rather not.” “See what? That you got a new slut?” I flinched at her proclamation of what this man probably intended to be my role here. Would she believe me if I said I had no intention of fulfiling such obligations? “Hm. You seem upset, not that I care much but I’d rather not have to deal with your pouting. Leave us.” He ordered and she glared fiercely, then her eyes watered and her chest seem to deflate. “Why are you doing this? Who is she?” He stiffened imperceptibly, an action I felt rather than saw. “Morgan…” There was a warning in his voice. “You know I don’t like to repeat myself.” She made a strangled sound and then filled with indignant fury, turned on her heels and stomped away leaving the door open. Lorgansighed. “Oh Morgan. Ever so petty.” He let go of me and went to shut the door. I took the opportunity to scramble for the knife and hid it behind me again. When he turned back to me and advanced, I tried to steel myself, leaping at the right moment and pointed the blade against his neck. To my consternation, he didn’t look the least bit concerned. In fact, he chuckled darkly and I hated the way the sound, so deep and masculine, shot straight to my core. “What’s this? It appears you a quite the ambusher.” He said, voice heavy with amusement., not seeming to care the way his adam’s apple moved against the blade. I hesitated a slight fraction and the damn bastard took the opening. I was not sure exactly what he did. He moved so fast I could barely keep up with his actions even though he was right in front of me. One moment I was brandishing my weapon, unable to believe I actually managed to corner the Lycan King, the next he had disarmed me and now I was the one with a blade pointed at my neck. He shifted his body, pushing me back until I hit the table in an effort to run away from the blade. When I had nowhere else to go, he smirked and pressed the knife down. The sharp end of the knife kissed my skin and a moment later, the metallic scent of my blood wafted to my nose as a trickle ran down my throat. I whimpered. Lorganleaned down. “You should be careful when you play such games little one. Some of us like the danger.” He breathed and then lapped at the moisture at my neck. I shuddered and whimpered again, clutching at his shirt and squirming in his arms my his lips moved over my neck. “Stop.” I mewled helplessly and panted all the while knowing it was futile. I was doomed. He was going to kill me. Or worse, continue what he was doing to my body. To my surprise, he chuckled again and let go of me. “You’re a feisty one. I like you.” He admitted. “Be careful though, that you don’t push me too far. I can promise you won’t like me at all then.” His eyes glittered dangerously and my mouth dried. I fought another whimper. “What’s your name?” It took a few tries for me to choke it out. Such a simple question and yet I stumbled over the answer multiple times, out of fear or something else I didn’t want to examine right now. “T─Becky . BeckyTaylor.” “Hm. Becky . I’m LorganKnight. Alpha of the Blackclaw pack.” He inclined his head, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips. “You might have heard of me.” “The Lycan King.” I spat resentfully, still floored by the fact that the legend himself was right here in front of me. He made a rumbling sound deep in his chest and I bit my lip and the way it made my insides warm. “Welcome to my home BeckyTaylor. Sit. Eat.” He commanded and gestured towards one end of the table where two plates were set. Not wanting to test his anger further, I obeyed. I was very self conscious while walking to my chair, acutely aware of his eyes on my bare back. Curse this dress for dropping so low down my chest and back. He was probably having an eyeful and from the smirk on his face, he was thoroughly enjoying it. I wondered faintly who that Morgan woman was. She seemed to hate me already which was fair because it wasn’t like I was here as a willing guest. I’d gladly leave in a heartbeat if allowed. Lorgantook his place at the head of the table and I took the seat to his right. Several trays and plates of various food were spread on the table for our choosing. Having not eaten for a few hours, I heaped a healthy helping on my plate trying my hardest not to look over at my host. He meanwhile, didn’t shy away from staring at me. I focused on my plate and tried to ignore the way his eyes swept over my frame, over and over again. The food was lovely but was rather hard to chew due to how dry my mouth was. My skin felt warmer and warmer and I was certain I was red all over. Oh god I was going to physically combust if he didn’t stop. I fisted my dress and shifted uncomfortably, grateful for the silence but distressed by it. The sound of a phone ringing spared me from being eye-fucked to death and the moment he leaned back in his seat, taking his eyes off me in the process, I breathed easy. He listened intently to whoever it was at the other end of the phone, responding in clipped, short phrases. After a few minutes, he hung up, stuck the phone back in his pocket, stood up and left without a word to me. I was equal parts annoyed and relieved. A maid walked in a moment later, different from the ones that had readied me before. She politely asked me if I’d finished eating. I picked up an apple from the fruit tray and a bottle of water then nodded at her. With that, I was asked to follow her and she led me to a different room that the one I’d been in, this one even bigger. “You are to remain here until Alpha Lorganrequests your presence. Please press the button on the table if you need anything.” With that, she turned to go. “Wait!” I called out desperately and she paused, giving me a questioning look. “The other females… where are they? What did he do with them?” The maid didn’t answer. She merely bowed “Have a good night miss.” She said then left. I closed my eyes when the door shut. If the rumors were true, and I had good reason to believe they were with everything that had happened so far, then those women were going to be slaves. If they weren’t already being used as such. I shuddered. And me… my fate was much worse because clearly I was to be the slave to the worst one of them all. I shouldn’t have brought such attention to myself. I’m a weak omega. Why the hell did I think I’d be able to escape? Or fight? I’d even pressed a knife over the Lycan King’s throat. It was a mercy he hadn’t killed me yet. Oh god. What was I going to do? Even if I escaped, what was there to go back to? My father’s callous disinterest? Marietta ’s cruelty and hate worsened by the knowledge that her husband was my mate. And Lucas. Even knowing I was his mate wasn’t enough to make him protect me. Did he even care at all? Did anyone? A sob caught in my throat and I threw myself on the bed, giving in to hours of pent up fear and frustration. It had taken less than a day for my already shitty life to turn upside down and it would probably be worse tomorrow. I cried for a while before getting up to take off my dress. After I was free, I curled into a ball under the covers and forced myself to sleep.Becky 's POVI didn’t think I’d spend my eighteenth birthday at a party that wasn’t for me, but here I was. To be honest I was not sure why I didn’t expect it. My sister had after all picked my birthday for her wedding date. As if she wasn’t already the center of our father’s universe. Unlike last year when he’d at least remembered to wish me a happy birthday, he hadn’t remembered this time and I tried not to show it but it kinda hurt. I supposed I should be happy. Usually, I get left at home when my dad goes for pack meetings and parties but Marietta 's invite had specifically demanded the presence of all family and as Luna, Dad was bound to obey her even though she was his daughter. So he’d reluctantly let me tag along and now I was at my first party save the reception at Marietta ’s wedding to Alpha Lucas. Marietta had outdone herself with the party, putting up thrilling decorations with platters of food arranged in a buffet. The music was great and thankfully not loud enough
Becky 's P.O.VI stared at his heaving chest and dark, angry eyes in disbelief, my hand clutching my stinging cheek as tears streamed down my face. I could see Marietta rooted to her spot but glaring at me from my side view. If I thought my life was miserable as her little sister before, I could tell it was about to get ten times worse. My vision blurred as more tears spilled over my cheeks. I wiped them away with the back of my hands and prayed that the ground would swallow me. At least it would save me from having to see everyone witness my humiliation while they whispered to each other behind their hands. Unable to stand the stares any longer, I turned to run when a large bang made me freeze and thankfully, diverted everyone’s attention away from my debacle with Lucas. Pandemonium broke loose as screams erupted from all sides of the hall and ran helter-skelter in different directions from a threat I was yet to see. Several men dressed in all-black riot gear barged into the ball
Becky 's P.O.V I sat in the back seat with the Lycan King, clinging to the car door as if I could somehow enter it. If there was ever a time I wished I could disappear, it was now. The car was more comfortable, but I preferred the dark van with my other sniffling and whispering captives to this oppressive silence with the brute a few meagre feet from me. Tension was palpable, maybe because of my barely contained terror but he didn’t seem to care or even notice. He just scrolled idly through his iPad, exceedingly casual for someone who’d just murdered a bunch of people and kidnapped others. My heart beat so fiercely I was sure he could hear it. I needed to get as far away from him as possible. I mean he paid me no mind and yet I could feel the power rolling off him in malignant waves. An air of danger that spoke of terrible consequences if one were to cross him. If it were any other situation, I would have thought him incredibly hot. His side profile looked as good as the front.
