Chapter 30

Camilla’s POV

Something felt… different.

The searing flames that had once been licking at my skin earlier now felt like a warm, comforting embrace. “Wake up,” a familiar voice urged, though it sounded oddly distant, like it was coming from the end of a tunnel.

“Camilla.”

My eyes snapped open with a gasp, and I immediately looked around, my heart hammering wildly in my chest. The room spun, and I struggled to make sense of what was happening. “Camilla.”

The voice came again, and I forced myself to focus. My gaze landed on Diana, who was staring at me from across the room.

“Diana?” I croaked, confusion lacing my voice. My eyes trailed down to see her hands bound in heavy chains. Panic flared in my chest, and I instinctively tugged at my own hands, realizing with horror that I too was in the same position.

“Why… why are we chained up?” I asked, my voice trembling. But Diana didn’t answer; her eyes were fixed on my face as if she were seeing a ghost. “Diana?” I called again, more urgently
