30: Sailing North

Quinlan was cursing the entire time he stood at the seaport half an hour later. Men were stocking the ships with food and other necessities, they were to leave Easton Glasgow that night.

Quinlan had no choice but to follow Alpha Kieran's order, whilst Penelope was being held aside for the time being. He didn't know if his Alpha would ever forgive her for speaking to him like that, in front of everyone.

If only she had controlled her mouth and her emotions. Quinlan muttered under his breath and then clenched his fists. No doubt she had come to care for him in her own way, and tried to stand up for him even though it wasn't required. He was a man and he could speak for himself, but he could never disobey or say no to his Alpha.

Penelope had not only surprised him but everyone inclusive. She was so fucking brave. He couldn't help but wonder how she got that mind she had. Majority of whores were known to be dumb but Penelope was too smart and sensitive for her own good.
