Casey’s POV

“Casey!”

“Casey!”

I could hear the voices of Danny and Carlos’ fade away slowly, replaced by that strong yet feminine voice I have been hearing for days.

‘My name is Kaleesa, that is all I can tell you,’ the voice echoed in the darkness within my mind.

‘Will you at least show yourself?’

There was silence, for a moment, before Kaleesa’s voice floated through the air around me.

‘No,’ she answered.

‘Why, and what is this place?’ I ask looking around my surroundings. It’s pitch-black. Looking down, it seems as if I am stepping on air.

‘Because you are not ready,’ she says, and I cock a brow despite facing no one in this shallow darkness.

‘You are here, deep in the subconscious of your mind, Cassandra,’

What she said caught me right off guard.

‘You know my real name?’ I never even told her that, or anything for the matter, thinking she was probably a figment of my imagination I have conjured due to stress.

‘Of course, I have known you since you were little,’
