Leona's POV

My chest burned with humiliation as I sprinted through the packhouse, ignoring the concerned glances of other pack members I passed.

How did I let this happen?

How could I, Leona f*cking Reed, daughter of Benjamin Reed who’s a powerful council member, lost to her? Evvie Moondragon, that pathetic little wretch. She humiliated me in front of everyone, and now my father… My father would be so disappointed.

I threw myself into my room, slamming the door behind me. My breath coming between large gaps as I paced back and forth, trying to make sense of what’s happening.
