Evvie’s POV:

“Look out!”

Whipping my head, I was an inch away from Zachary’s fist before I quickly dodged him.

I shook the memories away, trying to regain focus.

This is different. This is real.

I blocked his next punch and twisted, using his momentum against him. Zachary stumbled, and I took the opportunity to sweep his legs out from under him. He hit the ground hard, and I was on him in an instant, pinning him down.

“Yield,” I demanded, my voice low and firm.

He looked up at me, and I thought I saw his eyes soften. Just when I thought he was going to give in, a flicker of resolve hardened in his gaze, and he twisted beneath me, knocking me off balance. We both scrambled to our feet, breathing heavily.

This wasn’t just a fight—it was a dance, a brutal, beautiful dance. Every move, every strike, was a conversation between us.
