CHAPTER NINETY

Logan’s POV:

“She’s strong,” Cole spoke, standing beside me with his eyes focused on the dark woods.

The path prepared for her would lead her to cross a boundary deemed most dangerous among all rogue-marked territories in the state. She knew that, yet she did not even look back.

Until now, no one has crossed that boundary and came back alive. Some did, but they were left mutated and damaged for the rest of their lives.

I nodded, “She is. Stronger than any she-wolf I’d ever known.”

My wolf paced within me. Back and forth, I could feel his paws grating against the surface.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Tristan growled deeply, having second thoughts about this. I am, too. But if I do, their would be no end to Leona’s so-called challenges.

If she gets through this, I promise her I won’t let Leona step foot in this place again. I will banish her, and goddess knows where she ends up on. I don't give a damn anymore.

Did other Lunas complete this challenge? Seems unlikely due to how misogynist Alphas have been. So if Lunas have generationally been relegated to submissive breeders, where tf did these "trials" come from? This was so incongruent with the story that it broke my immersion.

I don't understand this at all. If Leona is the challenger, does she not have to do anything? Why does she decide what the trials are??
