Chapter 9: Nikita's Threat

Carly walked back to her room in anger. She can't believe Alpha Oswald rejected her advances. He was the first man to ever reject her, she was so good at seducing men that she could get an award for it yet her mate rejected her.

Pissed, she fell on the bed immediately as she entered her room. She wondered what she didn't do right. If there was anyone to reject her seduction it shouldn't be her mate, her mate is supposed to be attracted to her!

She smiled slightly when she remembered how alpha Oswald couldn't stop staring at her at the ceremony. She knew he wanted her, why then did he push her away? She wondered again with a frown.

Even when she had gone to his study, she saw the way his heated gaze was on her. She knew he wanted her, she knew she had hit the jackpot. It's just so unfortunate that the man didn't do what she expected him to. Or is he impotent? She wondered.

Carly took off the robe before resting her head to sleep. She had a busy day today, she had never attended nor become the center of attention in a gathering as big as that before. She felt excited to see people staring at her in awe.

Nikita did plan to ruin her day, it's a good thing that Kihara was at the right place at the right time. Now, what she has to do is get someone to always watch Nikita's moves because she knew Nikita would stop at nothing to destroy her.

She didn't want to put her sister, Kihara, in danger so Kihara is out of it. She also can't send Blaze since he was her bodyguard, he can't leave her side to watch Nikita's every move. She sighed, she needs a trustworthy person now.

Nikita wanted her to lose her chance of being with the Alpha in public so she can have him all to herself.

Carly chuckled when she remembered how Nikita couldn't stop herself from farting and disgracing herself. The way she ran was even what made her burst into laughter. Nikita deserves worse since she doesn't want her to live in peace in the mansion.

She didn't know if she should tag the day as a success or a failure. She was successful with her plans against Nikita but unsuccessful with her plans of seducing the Alpha.

Her thoughts wandered around for a while before she finally closed her eyes to sleep.

Alpha Oswald looked out the window as he stood backing his room door. He had been working since the ceremony ended. He knew he had a lot to cover but he needed to rush the ceremony before something happens to Carly or someone claims her.

His mind drifted to what happened hours ago when she came over to his study. It took him everything he had in him to get back to his senses. If he falls for her seduction now, she would keep doing that and begin to feel prideful. He doesn't want that, he is the alpha here.

The way she looked at him seductively, he got captivated. Her beautiful hourglass body and that dress she wore. Her words were what brought him back to his senses.

'What a mate!' he sighed

When she stepped into the hall earlier, he almost lost his ability to breathe. He could tell that Carly was a goddess of beauty all by herself. The way she spoke and walked at the party was nothing like the girl he wanted to judge a few days ago.

He couldn't take his eyes away from her, he could see a Luna in her and he was glad she was that elegant. But what ruined everything was how the men kept staring. They couldn't take their eyes away even when they knew that she was taken and belonged to the alpha already.

One of the men dared to say he would have taken her if she wasn't taken yet.

Alpha Oswald clicked his tongue as he remembered those words. If not that he was trying to be the best alpha they ever had, he would have broken the bones of that man. What audacity to speak of the king's mate that way in the presence of the king. Was it because he had introduced her as his concubine and not his Luna?

Speaking of his Luna, he has to ask the kitchen what the hell they had prepared that made his Luna have a stomach upset. She wasn't comfortable at the party, he could see it but since the party wasn't arranged for her in the first place, he let her go when she asked to leave.

Whatever the kitchen prepared, he'll have to tell them never to make such again for the sake of the Luna.

Alpha Oswald never liked Nikita, he just married her for the sake of the throne. Now that he has seen his mate, he was scared that he might get too close to his mate and he doesn't want that. He doesn't want Nikita to feel bad because she had been with him all these years.

Again his mind wandered to Carly and he sighed, he'll have to find a day to meet with her. Today wasn't just good timing. But one time is for sure, an heir would have to come from her

Carly woke up to a loud knock on her room door. She wanted to scream at whosoever had her jerk from her sleep like that. Before she could come down from the bed and drag her legs to the door, the person had burst the door open.

Carly saw that it was an angry Nikita who had barged into her room like that. She clicked her tongue before giving her the innocent look.

'Time to act some drama' she mentally stated.

"You!" Nikita yelled with her index finger pointed at Carly in anger

Carly furrowed her brows before straightening them again

"Good morning Luna" she bowed slightly.

"I do not want your stupid good morning" she spat in rage "What did you do yesterday?"

Carly opened her mouth to speak but Nikita didn't let her as she spat in anger again

"So you and your silly little sister think you can ruin my plans? Carly, you want to disgrace me? In my kingdom!" She yelled.

When Carly heard Kihara's name being called she snapped

"Why are you mentioning my sister? What did she do? What did the both of us do?"

She continued a little calmer this time "I can't remember offending-"

"Will you shut up, you brat! You can't remember offending me, huh?" Nikita walked closer to her bedside while Carly only sat there staring like some innocent little girl. Her pretty puppy eyes were fixed on Nikita as she moved closer.

"You want to see what I can do? Yesterday, you win, I accept but next time you wouldn't be so lucky" Nikita said with a snort

"But what did I do?" Carly asked again, forging ignorance.

"You switched the drinks, you witch!" She spat in anger.

Carly asked, pointing at herself with a surprised expression shown on her face "Me? I didn't do anything like that. I only went for a ceremony organized by OUR Alpha to recognize me" she shrugged.

Carly made sure to mention alpha Oswald as their own which caused Nikita's face to turn pitch black

"What did you say? Or who?"

Carly remained silent, she refused to respond to Nikita instead she yawned. This caused Nikita to boil in rage, she just felt like strangling Carly to death.

'This little rat thinks she can come to my kingdom and claim what's mine is hers? That can never happen' she thought before saying to Carly with sharp eyes

"Look, let me warn you if you know what's good for you, stay away from Alpha Oswald. I will make sure to make your life miserable if you do not find a way to get out of this palace"

Carly only looked smiling at Nikita as she spoke. It's a good thing that they both saw each other as enemies and were not hiding it. She loves how the whole thing was going

When Nikita was done talking she hissed before walking out of Carly's room.

Carly fell back on the bed lazily before she burst out in laughter

"What boldness to come here, open your mouth to admit that you put something in my drink" Carly clicked her tongue

This is the reason she doesn't want Kihara to be involved. It would be too dangerous for her little sister. She wondered how Nikita even knew that Kihara had a hand in it or did she send someone to tail her?

Carly thought for a while before finally getting up from bed. She must get a trustworthy maid from this mansion to do as she wants. She needs to know every one of Nikita's moves.
