After Alfie and I had silly arguments going back-and-forth, he finally surrendered and he let me go with him to find Edwina.

When we got to an old rusty building, I could already smell Edwina, but I could also smell another presence, something unfamiliar and disturbing. The idea of someone with my Edwina made my whole being tingle with rage. A wave of anger swept through me, causing every hair on my body to stand erect in virtuous outrage. Anyone who attempted to jeopardize her safety, I was ready to rip them to pieces.

I could tell at a glimpse that Alfie was just as angry as me, his vex visible as he charged forward. However, at this furious protective moment, I didn't want him here. I went ahead into the building's darkness, ignoring his presence.

The interior was just as dark and ominous as I had imagined, a perfect example of the kind of location where the most heinous crimes were perpetrated. Our drive to free Edwina from whoever dared to imprison her within was cemented
