Chapter 4

Mary's POV

So I'd begun to slowly fall for the antics of lust, I was falling for George although he isn't my husband. I wanted to do this and get out of there as soon as my sister returned but things didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be.

I shut my eyes tight, tears stream forth. As I open it slowly, I discover I'm alone in the room, I rise immediately. "Where's he? Prince George!" I called out. "Fuck!" I'm beginning to have goosebumps. Remembering the threats of sending me to jail and execution makes me scared the most.

I hasten over putting on my clothes. There's light in the room, and my eyes are directed to the clock on the wall. Dot midnight. "Hmm," I breathe heavily. It isn't safe to leave my house at this time. I wonder why he wouldn't just pity me and ask me to stay till tomorrow, then I can return even if it's another room.

So I keep climbing down the stairs carefully, slowly, and steadily, all of a sudden, I find some men dressed in black and with huge black glasses. This seems to be a private police. They were owned by top members of the royal family but recently, there have been cases of human rights violation coming from them. They are the scariest sect that has ever existed, probably because they don't know what the law is, they relate with people based on their brutal desires.

"I'm fucking finished!" I sink to my knees, right now, it's so weak that I can't stand it. From the darkness of the stairs, George appears.

"You think you can fucking come into my presence to deceive me into thinking you're my mate? I'll deal with you so well you'd never try that again should you come out alive."

"I'm sorry, please........" I'm even on my knees, my heart is shaking, no longer beating like that of a normal human being. I feel it will rip open. Before I could say my next word, I'm being dragged off so rudely, I guess I've gotten some injuries on my knees as it starts to hurt.

Wondering where they are taking me increases my fear. Outside of the estate was great darkness. "Oh God!" I'm crying deep within, the stench of fear and death encircles me.

"Has it gotten to the point of him treating me this way?" I question myself.

To my bad, I said this out loud without realizing it. Upon receiving a sound slap from one of the hideous officers, who are known to be ruthless, I realize what I'd just said.

"Who gives you the authority to question His Highness, the prince when you decided to play the fool of him? Have you forgotten that the penalty for impersonation of any member of the royal family is execution by lethal injection?"

I shriek. I nearly passed out.

"So this is where you are taking me to?" Silence takes over, the aura is deadly. Though I'd summoned the courage to ask this question no one answered. What the officer just said last washes over my brain.

"Am I being taken to receive the lethal injection?" I shriek in shock, my knees seem to dissolve as I can't even feel some part of my body, this shock is real. The journey continues in silence and darkness. I did wrong, if not that it was to save my sister's marriage I wouldn't do that.

Hot tears began to stream from my eyes seeing where my destination was leading to. Death. Even when this wasn't the government-approved police, the execution was approved by the royal family who are the official government here in San Marino.

After a while, it seems the Hilux we are driving in wants to approach a certain location, and it turns. I sense the end is here. I've been hearing stories of their headquarters where they carry out their treacherous act ordered by the royal family on their offenders, in those cases they didn't want the public to know, never had I thought that one day I'd be among these people handed over to them to be executed.

I just slide my hands together in prayer, who knows if I'll be given this chance, I'm about to say some words in my mind when a phone rings. It's not mine! I forgot to take it from the bedroom, it must be one of the officers. My mind flashes back, and George's screams woke up his five-month-old son. I can remember him crying as I was going off in fear. This cry haunts me, all together making me scared to death here.

Who knows if it's George calling and he's asking them to inject me as soon as we get there?

"Officer, turn around, take her to the prison facility instead! I have my reasons." The call was on speaker, my eyes open so wide, with my jaws dropping that I had to use my hands to cover my mouth.

What's going on? Did anything happen to my sister?

At this point, I can't think of myself alone, my thoughts begin to go in different directions, why does he need to perform an investigation? Is he doubting what Prince Alex told him?
