CHAPTER 83: That night

My ears were ringing. Her lips were moving but I couldn't hear anything she was saying. It's like a wall has been erected between me and her and no communication could pass through.

I felt bile rising in my throat and the strong urge to throw up everything I just ate.

With shaky hands I raised the abandoned glass of water on the table to my lips, spilling some over in the process. It quelled the nausea temporarily but it didn't do anything to stop the squeezing feeling in my chest.
