It was a high-risk move, but Chelsea had done it to get permission to stay there. She had underestimated how revenge and ambition could destroy her life to its lowest point, just as it had now.

Chelsea tried to control her breathing several times to stay alive, to ensure that she could later walk away from the house and contemplate how she would live without Carlos by her side.

Her eyes closed. She had been holding back her tears, but they still broke when she heard the door close firmly. She sobbed, her cries so bitter in the luxurious room. She squeezed the pillow beneath her head tightly, lamenting the decision Carlos had made.

Chelsea couldn't blame her husband for this, as it was her own mistake, made with Vano. She should not have forced her will to seek revenge. In reality, what did she achieve? Her unfulfilled revenge had only led to heartache because, in truth, Margareth and Tomas were not her biological parents. They might not have loved her as genuinely as she had loved them all this time.

"Why are you crying?" Carlos whispered in her ear, his large hand circling her waist. He pulled her closer so he could envelop Chelsea in his embrace.

"I would never leave my wife just because she conspired with my son to get my approval."

Chelsea turned around, immediately returning Carlos's hug. "I can't say anything more because I never expected to fall in love with you first, rather than making you fall in love. I'm sure I'm the one who fell in love with you first, so I started to doubt helping Vano. That's why I always reassured you that I truly love you, Dad.

I truly can't bear to lose you. You're the only one I love. The one I have right now." Chelsea's voice was soft, even though she had tried her best to be firm in her words.

"I know that. That's why I came to you to say that I believe in what came out of your mouth. Or even if I don't, I don't care at all, because this love is deeply rooted in you."

Chelsea raised her face. Targeting Carlos' lips who had just said he loved her. Gently biting, in tears of joy at the reciprocated feelings. Likewise with Carlos. Carlos wanted to refuse, but Chelsea just kept hugging him. Slightly ignoring the warm temperature every time their skin touched, Carlos took off all their clothes and replaced them with a blanket.

Your dad told me to always take care of and protect her, even if my love for her isn't sincere," Margareth said, looking at Vano.

Vano chuckled hearing Margareth's words. "Where were you yesterday? Why are you only able to say this now, after Chelsea's heartbroken?"

"That's none of your business, and I'm not entitled to give any reasons because you're nobody. I feel like my relationship with your dad ended as soon as he found another ideal woman."

"Oh yeah? Who's dad's ideal woman? Do I know her?" Vano was impatient to find out who Margareth was referring to, hoping it wasn't Chelsea, as it wasn't like this was how she sought revenge for her father.

"I don't know who that woman is yet. But one thing I can assure you, after this, we will find out who the woman is who is currently with your dad, causing him to change so drastically, to the point of not even acknowledging my presence anymore. Even though I've given so much love and loyalty to him."

"Well, that's just how men are. They can easily switch from one heart to another, especially when they find a woman better than their previous partner. From my brief assessment, just by a glance, I've seen that Auntie doesn't sincerely love dad. Auntie's only goal was to waste time with dad."

"That's your opinion."

"Not just my opinion. It's the truth."

"If you think so, then it must be true. But one thing you should know is, it's not me who wanted that, it was your dad from the start who always spoiled me and gave me everything I wanted. Even though I refused, he still did it, giving me anything that could make me stay in his life."

"So, because dad isn't like that anymore, it's better for Auntie to start looking for a new lover, so when dad really decides to end the relationship with Auntie, it won't hurt too much. And it'll be easy to find a replacement for dad. That's my advice," Vano slightly bowed as he bid farewell to Margareth. He didn't want to talk to this woman for too long, to avoid any lingering issues between Chelsea and her father. Of course, it was very painful when he had to leave the house due to a misunderstanding.

Before heading to his room, it was a habit for Vano to stop by Chelsea's room first to check on her condition. However, when Vano pressed the doorknob, he rubbed his neck. For the first time on such a bright afternoon, Chelsea's room appeared to be locked from the inside.

That meant Chelsea was inside. Seeing his father's car parked in the automated garage, it was clear that his father was also there with Chelsea. Not wanting to disturb the married couple, Vano went straight to his room, temporarily ignoring the issues that had arisen between him and Chelsea the previous night.

Besides Chelsea's locked door, what surprised Vano this afternoon was that he had received several missed calls from Amber on his phone. His phone, which had been silenced since earlier, had created so many unanswered calls and messages from her.

On average, Amber's messages were questioning Vano's whereabouts because she wanted to meet him. There was something to discuss about the conversation between him and Celine earlier. Vano felt reluctant to go out of the house, so he decided to make a video call with Amber.

"Why, Sis? Unusually spamming me with that many messages? And so many unanswered calls, are they that important that you needed to contact me with so many notifications?" Vano teased as he placed his phone on the bed, leaning against a pillow. He then lay on his side, gazing at the phone displaying Amber's beautiful face.

"If we say it's important, it's not too important. If we say it's not important, it's important to me."

"About Celine." Vano quickly interrupted Amber's statement, which seemed hesitant to convey. He was sure that the issue was quite important for her to bring it up.

"Does this have something to do with Celine? Because as far as I remember, you two were still talking in her room before I left. What's going on? Did Celine say something hurtful to you?"

"You could say that. In fact, I want to ask for your help in teaching her to be polite to me. Since I am her cousin, my age is much older than Celine's. While my position is not as important as hers in our family, I'm still part of our big family."

"By 'less important,' do you mean...?" Vano began to listen seriously to Amber's explanation because she had dragged their family's name into it. It meant that their previous conversation had been very serious, and he was sure that Celine had said something unpleasant.

It feels uncomfortable to be seen as an unlucky woman who has been cursed and can't find a husband even at my age, which is already in my thirties."

"Don't dwell on it too much, Sis, because everything is destined as it should be, and it's not impossible that you'll get married before Celine. We still maintain a good relationship, and she's still my girlfriend. I still have a desire to marry her, but until now, we haven't received her father's blessing, so it's possible that our relationship will end as well."

"What's preventing your father from giving his blessing? Is it still about the accident? If it's okay, Sis, help me out. Maybe there have been discussions within our family about it.
