Chapter 142

Third point of view.

Diane was in a good mood. Everything was working out for her and soon, she’d get what she wanted. Who knew that working with the Luna had so many benefits? She was giddy with excitement just thinking about it. She cleaned up the theater and headed to another ward. The patient wasn’t in yet, which meant she still had time to herself. Not enough, but okay nevertheless.

The door opened and a nurse came in. Diane looked back and recognized Susan as one of her colleagues. She was pushing in a sterilized tray for the next patient. They do this whenever a patient has left the room; taking time to sterilize every single piece of equipment before the cleaners can handle the floor.

“Oh you’re here,” Susan said as she arranged the cart. “Did you hear what’s happening?”

“No, I didn’t hear anything,” Diane answered, bored.

She didn’t know why everyone was trying to make conversation with her in this hospital. If only they knew how important she was, how she was her new favorit
