"Let's not talk about this now. Focus on getting better first." Mercer's voice was gentle as he spoke.

"Please don't blame Calla," Sophie cried. "She was a bit emotional then, that's why we quarreled. She didn't mean to push me. I fell and got upset, which triggered the attack."

Standing outside, Calla frowned as she listened to Sophie.

Sophie certainly knew how to twist the truth. She subtly accused Calla of hitting her, leading to her sudden asthma attack.
